Assistant harbormasters return with the injured man and are met by EMTs at the dock.
brewsterfish102507b_250EAST DENNIS – The Dennis harbormaster at Sesuit Harbor in East Dennis received a call at around 2:43 p.m. Thursday from the Orleans harbormaster reporting that a crewman on the fishing vessel Andrea Ruth out of Rock Harbor had injured his knee.

The Orleans harbormaster was unable to conduct a rescue and asked for mutual aid from Dennis. Harbormaster Terry Clen dispatched assistant harbormasters Rick Lamont and Bob Bach on the town’s 23-foot Wellcraft to rendezvous with the fishing vessel, which was engaged in sea clamming off the Brewster flats. At the same time, Clen contacted Dennis Fire and asked that EMTs be dispatched to meet the victim at the dock.

The town boat docked at Sesuit Harbor at around 3:24 p.m. and the injured man was examined by EMTs. He was moved from the dock to the parking lot by wheelchair. Refusing transport by ambulance, he was met by a friend who transported him from the scene in a private vehicle.
