Feature story: Mother still holds out hope for daughter missing 10 years
MANHATTAN, NY - On November 7th, 1997 then 36-year-old Camden Anne Sylvia and her boyfriend 54-year-old Michael Sullivan mysteriously disappeared from their Manhattan apartment and haven't been seen since. Camden is originally from the Cape and her mother Laurie still resides on the Cape and has never given up hope. NYPD Detectives have been diligently following leads including suspicion that arose over a dispute the couple were having with their landlord. The day Camden went missing she had given the landlord Robert Rodriguez a petition urging him not to raise the rent. Detectives were never able to prove any connection between the two events. Now 10 years to the day a mother searches and hopes someone reading this knows something and will contact authorities. Anyone with information is urged to contact NYPD Detectives at (212) 477-7473.

Christy's Robbery Arrest
YARMOUTH - On Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. members of the Yarmouth Police Department responded to a report of a robbery at Christy's Convenience Store at 14 East Main Street in West Yarmouth located near the Barnstable town line.
Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Bradley J. Donahue, George Tsoukalas, Kevin Antonovitch and K9 Patrol Officer Peter McClelland arrived at the scene and verified that a robbery had occurred and the suspect had fled on foot towards Hyannis. Yarmouth and Barnstable Patrol Officers immediately secured the scene and conducted a search for the suspect.
While officers searched for the suspect, the on-scene investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the store and made a small purchase. While completing the transaction the suspect suddenly and violently reached across the counter trying to remove the money from the cash drawer. A struggle ensued and the suspect verbally threatened to shoot the clerk however no weapon was shown.
The entire robbery was captured by the in-store security surveillance system and shown to the investigating Patrol Officers as well as Yarmouth Police Detectives Charles Peterson and Stephen Renzi.
Patrol Officers Mark Butler and Michael Riley of the Barnstable Police Department were familiar with a local boarding house where the suspect may have been staying. Police Officers went to the boarding house and eventually located a man matching the description of the robber. An identification process was conducted and the store clerk identified the man as the robber. 49-year-old David Austin of Hyannis was placed under arrest on charges of armed robbery and threatening to commit a crime and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters. He was held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court Wednesday morning. (Mugshot furnished by YPD).
