We're Headed for Disaster!

Oh, no.  Oh, no! This is very bad. Iowa voters have selected the two candidates with virtually no foreign policy experience and absolutely zero management experience in the private sector. Bush, the worst President in the history on the USA, at least had managed large corporations and had measurable success as Governor of Texas. But these two birds, Obama and Huckabee, have achieved absolutely nothing in their political careers and have never worked in management for a company. And this is who we to manage the largest entity in the world? If you think Bush sucks, get ready for a new era.

Obama and Huckabee distinguished themselves using one or two divisive issues throughout their campaigns, but really, they are ideological twins. Both of them are career politicians. That means that the only real jobs that they have held have been in the public sector, mostly as politicians. So they have absolutely no idea of the stress, anxiety and accountability that is associated with owning or running a business. More importantly, they lack the appropriate management skills that are developed though commercial management. Neither of them possesses this extremely important qualification. So, how will they be able to manage the world's largest economy?

Secondly, Obama and Huckabee both love to victimize themselves, and others, and exploit it for personal and finacial gain. Obama wrote a book about his poor upbringing and being bi-racial, Huckabee wrote a book about losing over 100 lbs (much of which he has gained back, 3 or 4 times).  Both books were designed to emotionalize readers while lionizing the authors, and both biographies were "coincidentally"  released before announcing their candidacies. In these books inspirational words like "hope" and "faith" are used to  brand the candidates with a sensationalized image. How many time have you heard Obama use the word "hope?'' No other candidates have sensationalized voters by using victimhood as much as Huckabee and Obama, nor have any other candidates used such baseless and empty rhetoric.

Thirdly, Barack and Huckabee also like to do a lot of pretending and pandering. Barack, like Huckabee, pretends that he is a lot of things. At one event he talks to Muslims about his Muslim roots. At another event he takes on a gangster accent when taking to southern black Baptist churches and permits gay bashing. At another event he talks pretty and sophisticated with the wealthy United Church of Christ's congregation. At the gay lobbyist events and forums he fags himself up so much that you would think the was the biggest Queen in the race. But that title goes to Judy.....I mean Rudy Guiliani. Huckabee is just as slick. When talking to the unemployed Republican voters in Iowa he blames illegal immigrants for taking their jobs. But in Arkansas, a sanctuary state for illegals, he was revered by all the  top deputies at the illegal immigration militia's "aka" immigrant reform coalitions because he was so "well versed and knowledgeable of their issues." Though we may not be able to read through all the lies and fabrication, we do know for sure that both candidates are very willing to be lenient with immigration if it is to their own political advantage.

This election is the ultimate indicator of the mentality that has permeated the minds of an overwhelming number of Americans. We shouldn't elect our leaders based on how good they make us feel, as voting based on emotion is nothing more than irrational. Just 2 weeks ago the world's most educated country, South Korea, with the highest average IQ, test scores, number of scientists and engineers, and professional degrees just elected the most conservative President of all the industrialized nations. Korean President-elect Lee Myung-Bak is the perfect example of what a qualified candidates is. He grew up in extreme poverty during the Korean war, earned his way into Korea's top university, worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the CEO of Hyundai Construction and made Seoul one of the most affluent and ecnomically competitive cities in the world as mayor. The superior intellectual aptitude of South Korea's average voter enabled a victory for an economic champion.

So with the dumming down of American voters comes Presidents like Bush, and now even worse, Obama or Huckabee, while  other countries are electing more formidable and skilled leaders. What does this mean? Let's think about it. Americans are becoming fatter, increasingly more dependent on psychiatric prescriptions and services, lazier and with student test scores plummeting, dummer. So many of our fellow citizens have become so dumb, lazy, crazy and victimized that they vote based on emotion, whatever makes them feel good. Well, Obama and Huckabee sure are good at making the flakey, fat and over-medicated "victims" feel good. But it won't feel good in the years to come when we are economically leveled by smarter and more competitive countries. If Huckabee or Obama go on to win the next wave of primaries, kiss America as you know it goodbye and ring in the new era of China, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Qatar, UAE, and other rapidly growing economies. Both Obama and Huckabee have zero business or economic experience. The leaders of the aforementioned nations do. We are putting ourselves out of business.

If you need a rough idea of how things are at my house.... my husband- who is the less fanatical sports fan in the house, by quite some margin- answered the "How'd Iowa go?" question with "6-6 this season, and they lost to Iowa State."

Granted... there was a bowl game happening at the time....

My babysitter- who has a pretty good instinct for these things- thinks that the NeoCons will engineer a faux terror incident and then bring Rudy into the fold to campaign with the Bloody Shirt.

If they run Ground Zero Rudy against Hillary- or even that Muslim monikered weakling Obama- after someone releases Anthrax into the crowd at the 2008 World Series, he might win with like 93% of the vote.

I went to Texas in July while 8 months pregnant to cover a baseball game for AOL...but I wouldn't go near the 2008 World Series for all the oil in Iran.

You My Bro Aaron, but I disagree with you about Huckabee. Huckabee is the best thing that could ever happen to the GOP. Up to now the RNC has been concerned about having our President be the one who would lay the common man off, Huckabee is the man we would work with in every day jobs. He is the only one that will deal with helping the poor, he believes in Social Justice for all people no matter what race or creed, and he can expand our party. He is a populist who demonstrated that it is the People who decide, not the purse. All I have to say, Romney just got "Hucked" up by a common man. Huckabee is gonna surprise many folks. He's a man of the people like Lincoln, not an arrogant as_hole like Romney.

You know even though you interned and helped Romney in 2002, Romney was no where to help you, me, or the rest of the MassGOP in 2006. He abandoned our commonwealth and he abandoned you and me. If Huck don't win, then let it be McCain. All I have to say is that you can't by the Presidency and that negative campaigning doesn't work.

Romney just got "Hucked" up!

Aaron [Member] writes:
Doug, you are right. Screw Romney. I put hours, days and months into laboring for his campaign and drove back and forth between Amherst and Boston while I was in college. The Romney campaign has turned politics into "people using people."

When I interned, I will admit, I was the only intern invited to his Belmont home. However his campaign did favor the interns from rich and Mormon families way more than me. What did I know, I was 19.

Yeah, Romney sucks for using people like he does, but he is better for the country than Huckabee when it comes to economics. But, after viewing Huckabee's victory speech, I think he may have more integrity.

Romney and Huckabee a 2 completely different kinds of Republicans. I am a blend of the two. So I am stuck between supporting someone who is best for this country, yet callously screwed us over, and someone who probably has the right heart for the job (but not the credentials).

McCain definitely isn't the right guy. Way too lazy and slow. What do you think of Judy....I mean Rudy?

I do like Rudy and I like Ron Paul. And also, I know that Aaron is also an agent of change who has a bright political future. When you return from Korea, get involved and help me and others rebuild the MassGOP from the grassroots up. It is fresh blood like us who will determine our state party's fate. The Dinosaurs are already dying. They don't have the energy, the desire, or the strength to compete anymore. It's all about cleaning house and removing the dead wood. The Republicans of Massachusetts want to win and those few leaders that don't want change, well their time is up because they're either getting run out of town or they're just getting run over.
01/04/08 @ 10:38 am
Aaron [Member] writes:
Doug, I couldn't have summed it up any better. You really hit it on the nail. The quasi-Republican dinosaurs either lack the energy or are becoming extinct.

Huckabee's win in Iowa was great, it sent a strong message that campaign's can't be bought. However, we don;t really want him to end up winning.

I just got off the phone with Justine Kirkwood and we concluded that we don't want Huckabee representing America, especially because of his wife. Our country needs a first lady who is a real lady, not a slovenly jezebel.

I, and several other who I have spoken to, believe that the image and demeanor of the first lady is very important. This wife of Huckabee's, whatever her name is, is a brute. She is not first lady material. That also eliminates Rudy too, because we don;t want to go through 3 or first first lady's during one presidential term.

So yeah, Ron Paul is good. He is for small government, a women's doctor who is pro-life, has private sector and foreign policy experience and so muc more. I think I might just vote for him.

Honestly, I have been helping Republican candidates, hundreds of them, since I was a teenager. Unfortunately I was too young to realize that there are some good and some not so good Republicans.

I don't just blindly help any Republican candidate. They have to be good people, have no ego and absolutely can't be power hungry. Oh, yeah, and they can't lie either. Unfortunately these days such candidates are hard to come by.

Before we promote Republicanism in Massachusets the Republican party must change. We will keep losing until that happens.

Aaron,

Since I was raised a conservative democrat (extinct breed) decisions regarding polit. has always been difficult. The only Rep. I met, who I like is your Jeff Perry, state rep of Sandwich. Great guy, I believe his views, at least on the local level are fair. I consider him more of a moderate than a die hard republican. I mean it's all so subj.--dem. vs. rep. It's really the candidate & his track record.

As much as I would like to see a woman in the Oval Office, I don't want Hillary. She's still a corporate caterer, like G.jr., & it's time for change. I don't think getting Hillary means getting Bill, who was a good pres. None of us were suffering when Bill was in charge.

I like Obama & you raise a good point about foreign affairs. But come on! Who thus far has aced that area of expertise? It's better to have a pres. who is FOR THE PEOPLE & if we have a pres. who takes care of us, the rest of the world will follow. Bush has ruined this country & the world has lost respect for its people who allow him to run this country into the ground & colonize the middle-east w/greed.

As far as Mitt is concerned:

He's getting his pay back for what he failed to do for us as governor. He's another corporate caterer. The Big Dig was in his hands, and he allowed the corp. construction companies to run off with our loot. Wonder who's he got financing his campaign? And we think G. jr. is bad, could you imagine what a mess Mitt would make? Mitt's all about Mitt and his Grecian Formular #9.

The points you raise about first lady is important one. We saw just what Mrs. Kerry did for her husbands campaign.

It's quite clear the people have spoken--they want Obama. I don't think he's a liberal, I see him as a moderate and one who is in touch with the real issues, not an egotist, and genuine in his speech. Unlike the rest of the talking heads who will never respond to a difficult question with a real answer, just more sidesteps and confusion as to where they stand. Frankly, with oil prices escalating, national deficit at it's highest, millions without healcare & quality jobs, housing, immigration--we need someone with a fresh approach to politics. Obama is not a WASP, so ??

Doug & Aaron: As you both know, the most effective political change starts here - locally - where we can make a difference. For the first time in over two decades, the Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket Rep. seat (Eric) will be up for grabs in November. Many stalwart dems have already declined - this will be a real opportunity. Aaron, the way to neutralize those who you consider "low caliber" in politics is to effectively pursue your own agenda, and by reading your thoughts, you certainly have one! Rebuilding the GOP in MA starts right here, right now. Who reading this is willing to fight and run?
01/04/08 @ 2:36 pm
James [Member] writes:
I agree that someone like Ron Paul but without the white supremacy issues would be good for the GOP. There can be no future "small government" Republican party without giving up the idea of American exceptionalism and imperialism. The GOP now is the party of Big Business and Big Business wants a big powerful government to give it what it wants, domestically and internationally.
Locally, I don’t see what you people think the GOP has to offer on a local level here in MA. I have yet to hear anything new.

The Muz can steal a jet here and there... poison some reservoirs... knock down the occassional 110 story building..... but forcing Arabic on us and veiling our women is simply not a feasible option considering the relative military/economic powers of the two sides.

If anyone tells you otherwise... laugh in their goddamn face, and try to convince them not to exercise their vote. Most likely, it wouldn't be that difficult a task.

Bush is the WORST president! It's okay umass, you got yours.

Aaron,

Yes, Obama is not a well seasoned politican. But come on--with what we've been stuck with so far, who wants one of those!

How about some new blood, one with fresh ideas, no more old boy networks--they are done! I would like to see more opportunities for people who are in the struggling middle to lower class bracket. College should be for everyone, not the the chosen selected. I don't know the answers, but only see the many problems we face as a nation. It saddens me to see so many struggling to get by. Families are suffering without healthcare, housing, jobs, & all this govt. cares about is conquering the middle east. I have friends from this region of the world who have been in this country for many years. They worry for their families who remain in a country torn. My own family member who works for the govt. tells me Iraq is a country completely changed, millions have died. Obama is a muslin. I believe he is the one who can bridge peace with the middle east. We need a president who the world can respect, Bush only managed to alienate our allies & create distrust.

Crusader, you speak so elonquently when refering to Bush. Here are some words i found in the thesaurus that i think are a more accurate description.

blockhead*, bobby, boor, bumpkin, chump, clown, dimwit*, dolt, dope*, dumbbell, dummy, dunce, fool, imbecile, lamebrain, loon, lout, oaf, rube, simpleton, yokel

As for Obama, he lacks management experience. He has nener been a manager, ever!!!! So how can he manage the largest entity in the world? If he was a CEO or aven the manager of a mid-level sized business I think I would consider voting for him.

I definitely DO NOT want a well seasoned politician. We absolutely need fresh blood. look at Hillary and McCain. They are a little too well-seasoned. They have been in Washington for decade. Answer this question:

What have they done???

I rest my case. And therefore we need an outsider with management experience. That person may be Bloomberg. He definitely would be the most qualified by far!!!! None of the candidates would be able to hold a candle to him. But I don;t like where he stands on many issues.

Well, Alan Greenspan said the major reason we went to Iraq was for oil, so what does that say?
Greenspan doesn't know what he's talking about?
