Well,on January 6,2008, I received a phone call at 4:30am. When I asked "who is this?",a man said "Chris". Baby was crying in the background.*69...number could not be reached.
If it was from blogging about this subject, then how did they know who bittersweet is to get my number?

Case solved. The beeping noise was the microwave timer.... the "Lean Cuisine" was done. You guys just crack me up.... keep the entertainment coming.

There are a great many details about this case that have yet to come forward.
The police and their so called "incompetencies" just is not acceptable.

"Unknown DNA from 3 male individuals under her fingernails"

"Foot prints, palm prints, blood stain on her shoe, hairs some over 11" in length"

Just look at your court logs over the years. The beauty of small town life, so insular, so many protecting their own. How many local boys go to jail for committing crimes? Repeated violations: Drug possession, OUI, breakins, assault w/ deadly weapons. This creates a certain attitude, "I can do anything and get away". And after we read about what the role models, rogue cops have been doing over the years, ie., Officer Costilito, with the nice father as chief, who terrorized a community, what do you expect. I've gone outside the box and studied other cases on the Cape to compare and it's all the same. You are connected, have money, are white, yankee--you get away. McCowen didn't have a chance living on an island that caters to their own.

Sex on Thursday before the murder doesn't count. Tim Arnold's DNA on the brown blanket used to cover her body is just as insignificant, right? But it's what gave McCowen a life sentence without the chance of parole. And where was that DNA for months, untested, first sample lost, needed to be taken again. If O'Keefe was such a great DA, in this high profile case, he would have sent the sample to a private lab. But he choose to let over 4 long years go by, so he could get reappointed. Priorities of a DA who cares about solving a murder, one so horrific, the daughter of a former assistant attorney general.

In this case, DNA failed. It is not the be all that ends all. There were more circumstances that were intentionally overlooked, because to look there, would have placed others at the scene of the crime.

Bob George claims that if an affluent white male had the same circumstances as McCowen, he would not have been arrested. Comparing the other suspects, they all had ways of getting out of the police interrogations, resorting to legal counsel, the police backed off.

Fibers, hairs, DNA, mishandled, ignored or thrown away. That leads majority of people with basic common sense to wonder why? Who were they protecting if they tossed out the evidence?

There is more to the story and it's not over. The Cape is vulnerable and dependent on the Tourism dollar. The Chamber doesn't want bad publicity. That is why the Wellfleet cop was not allowed to discuss the 8 heroin OD's one summer, when he did, he was chastised by the Ptown selectman. Keeping the untainted image is key to a successful season and keeping housing high for the millionaires to remain interested.

Not many people see the dark side of Cape Cod, but I have.
