The Opinionator
I am a family man with several grown children and many grandchildren, all living on the Cape. They are the future of everything and I want to leave them a world that I have done my best to improveAlways on time and on budget. Offering planning and design to landscape construction, installation, irrigation, waterscapes and landscaping maintenance. Plus quality lawn hydro-seeding. (Barnstable)

Annual Sheep Festival this Sunday
Annual Sheep Festival this Sunday
Don't forget the Annual Sheep Festival which starts Sunday, June 1, 9:00 to 4:00 PM, rain or shine, at the Taylor-Bray Farm in Yarmouthport. This 18th Century farmhouse and barn was entered into the National Registry of Historical Places in 1993.
Take the kids and grandkids to see sheepherding, sheep shearing, wool spinning and rug hooking. You can pick up a light lunch there and there are a few crafts tables selling things. It's a great place for the little ones to see farm animals. A fun thing for kids are the hay wagon rides. Parking is a bit of a problem and they are looking for a $5.00 donation for this. No dogs, please.
This event is sponsored by the Taylor-Bray Farm Preservation Association. You can read more about the historic farm on the web, or at Cape Cod Today's events calendar. To get to the farm, take Bray Farm Road off Route 6A near the Yarmouth-Dennis line and go less than a mile toward the bay. Bring your camera.

Portions of my sad misspent youth occurred there as well, so I am quick to forgive the depravity, glass houses and all... :)

About This Blog
This is a blog about the observations and events I witness on this sandy peninsula after several decades of working, thinking, feeling and writing about the quality of life here. My biases will no doubt show, I am neither conservative nor liberal and have a strong interest in public affairs, local politics, schools and religion.
