Brad Crowell to Run for County Commissioner

Former Cape Cod Commission Chairman to announce candidacy on September 3rd

Former Cape Cod Commission chairman Brad Crowell will be announcing his candidacy for Barnstable County Commissioner on Wednesday, September 3. The announcement will be made from the steps of the Superior Courthouse at noon.

brad_crowell_194“I am eager to bring my skills and training as a problem solver to bear on the issues facing the County,” said Crowell. “The energy and enthusiasm of Cape Codders are palpable, but so are their concerns about transportation, wastewater, housing, and the economy.”
Crowell has an extensive record of service to Barnstable County. He has represented the town of Dennis at the Cape Cod Commission since 2002, serving one term as chairman and leading the Commission’s response to the 21st Century Task Force, which included a package of process improvements and regulatory reforms. He has also been a member of the county Economic Development Commission and the Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization, which allocates state highway funds.

Assisting Crowell in his run is retiring County Commissioner Mary LeClair, who will chair his campaign committee. Other members of the committee include current County Commissioner William Doherty, former state representatives Thomas George and Shirley Gomes, Cape Cod Commission vice chair Jay Zavala, Anthony Coccio, Joel Crowell, Joanne MacAteer, and Benita Pierce.

Crowell is a resident of Dennis. He is a corporate strategy consultant serving the transportation and energy industries. He and his wife Kim have three children.
