SANDWICH -  A single-vehicle crash at Route 28 and Jones Road on Saturday almost ended up in the Stop and Shop parking lot.

f-20080830_2_400The driver of a Ford Taurus Wagon, who apparently suffered a medical event presumed at this time to be a heart attack, crossed the intersection of Route 28 entering Jones Road, left the road and crashed into a fire hydrant at the corner of the Stop and Shop parking lot.

The hydrant prevented the wagon from entering the parking lot and hitting any other vehicles or pedestrians. No further information was available at the scene on the condition of the driver who was transported to Falmouth Hospital by Falmouth Fire Rescue.

Truro is a beautiful town with many great locations, so why use RT.6? How about downtown, or out at the Highlands, or Beach Point.

Truro Treasures has typically been held in the Truro Central School area and parking lot, and it is on Rte 6..set back aways, but on the main road through town....and that is rte 6. Highlands is CCNS, they probably want to keep it on town land.
