Ten reasons I like Sarah Palin
Ten reasons I like Sarah Palin:
10. She's prettier than Barack Obama.
9. She's a better shot than Dick Cheney.
8. She's cuddlier than cute little Dennis Kucinich.
7. She pronounces "nuclear" better than George W.
6. She knows what "is" is better than Bill Clinton.
5. She knows what and where ANWR is better than Al Gore.
4. She has a better hair-do than Mitt Romney.
3. She wears less makeup than John Edwards.
2. Even as a pit-bull hockey mom, she's got a better disposition than Howard Dean.
And the biggest reason I like Sarah Palin:
1. She's got better legs than Joe Biden.
Now, while you rabid ideologues from both the right and left may grumble and swear a little because I do not subscribe to your absolute nonsense of political correctness, let me give you some hard facts.
Only 64 percent of those Americans ages 18 and older went to the polls in the last presidential election, according to data released by the Census Bureau. Only 64 percent!
Second-rate democracies have better voting records than we do!
The agency also found that turnout rates were closely correlated to a voter's age. A little more than 73 percent of those between 65 and 74 said they voted, the highest rate for any age group. Those between the ages of 18 and 24 had the lowest, with 47 percent reported going to the polls.
It's ironic that those in the lower voting range probably make the most idealogical noise and blow the most ideological hot air, both in vociferous street protests and in mean-spirited static on the blogosphere.
November 4 is the date this year, my friends. Write it down and do not plan to be anywhere that you can't cast a ballot, either in person or absentee.
I don't want to hear you crying that your candidate lost because of hanging chads or because you were just hangin' loose. I don't want to hear that your idiotic Aunt Susie cast her vote at the ATM thinking it was a voting machine and that she is therefore "disenfranchised."
Unless you vote, shut up. I don't want to hear any more whining from bed-wetting pissants because your friggin' favorite lost the election! I know for whom I'm voting. Do you? Decide by November 4 and do it. VOTE.
When the nation speaks (I would like to see a 98 percent turnout myself), then we know whom the nation is behind and we can all work together. Don't you--a member of either party or an independent like myself--think it's about time?

Most of us recognize it as satire, but the danger is that those dumb, whining, pissants whom I am exhorting to get out and vote probably think the Jon Stewart Hour is a REAL news show.
Hmmm, there must be more than one Solon, as the one who whined about being called on for his vapid rebuttal of Palin's "qualifications" would NEVER call people dumb, whining, pissants.
CNN's poll is a dead heat. They explained that their polling has always had fewer "don't knows", therefore less movement.
Your thoughts are refreshing. Any chance you could email them to Alan C. on Fox?
PS...copy Ned.
Mav, thanks. I've sent serious stuff to O'Reilly in the past, and have never received an acknowledgement, much less a thank you. Yet three weeks later he was doing a piece on it as if he was the great uncoverer of evil deeds. I'm sort of fed up with Fox.
Maybe Alan C. Maybe Letterman. That dude does "Top Ten."
Would you like me to ask if her "experience" includes changing diapers.
You have been p.ssing your pants since her acceptance speech.
I didn't think it was my fault that Palin lent herself so well to being a target. Let her actually have to answer some hard questions, other than softballs from Charlie Gibson, lol.
Solon- ohhhh I get it, you can just generally call people dumb whining pissants, just not by name. I get it. Aren't you just annoyed by "those" people that think they can hide behind their own hypocrisy by speaking in generalities? You know "them"....? "They" don't have a face or name, but surely "they" are out there. Maybe we can start handing out team jersies so we know which "them" they are.
To Obama...are you a Muslim? I don't care about religion. Just would like an honest answer.
To Biden...why are you more qualified than Palin for VP?
A well stated article...
The 'dirt' is being hurled as we speak from both sides (here and nationally)..
Should be quite a ride!
Personally, I'd vote for Pat Paulsen..
dead or alive..

Sorry, I'm a leg man.
Extra crispy or original?
I'll take the combo..legs and breasts
The economy is a hair's breath from melting down, we are at the utter mercy of foreign governments and their investors, and all either party can argue about is Palin, breasts and all.
We are we going hear about SOME REAL ISSUES?
Oh, and one of the most ANNOYING aspects of recent years' discussion is the implicit assumption that because someone IS or is RELATED TO someone serving in the military, that automatically gives them respect, precedence, or priority.
**Not**
The grade equivalent (American) English contractors need to target manuals for the United States military is 8th grade.
And we're choosing our future according to THEIR opinion?
All this campaign has done, so far, for me, is provide plenty of evidence for why a citizen would choose NOT to vote at all!
The entire premise of politics is to redirect their respective followers( and hopefuls) to the follies of their opponents, whilst averting the real issues at hand...
The populace loves a good mudfight..
the dirtier the better..
The real policy makers(change)are never in the limelight..
always in the shadows
Welcome to politics as it always has been..
I said "no ad hominem attacks on bloggers or commenters." I mean it.
As far as your blithering idiotic comments go about our self-sacrificing military and our military families, why don't you just up and move your self-anointed gluteus maximus to Afghanistan where the reading grade level is ZERO, and where the Taliban will be glad to behead you merely because you can read.
We're the "land of the free" BECAUSE "of the brave."
Kindly pollute some one else's blog. I won't have our military derided on mine.
As far as your voting goes, who would even want your vote?
-Oh and was Nam a Noble Enterprise? Not quite clear on your stance on that one.
You are so hung up on your own loaded question and haven't even told me you were sorry I couldn't make your art show!
Where has civility gone?
I think Palin's "Drill, baby, drill!" slogan might make an interesting bumper sticker. Expect to see them around.
She would not serve me, she would serve all those who think like she does. Me and my family? I don't think she'd give a damn.
And, a word of warning...my 17 yr old daughter also married the father of her baby...within a year, he had left, and she was in mental-breakdown mode.
She has me and my boyfriend and my mom, but what if she didn't?
Where would she be in Sarah Palin's America? As a fellow female and a mom?
Out in the street.
What's wrong with that?
And mav, you can like her all you want.
But, if you think she's taking on Washington, I got a bridge to sell you. She BECAME Washington the other night.
Gratuitous, smearing, untrue, and un-sportwoman-like treatment of the other guy....just like Washington always does.
Let's see the kind of make-over she gets. Hopefully it will be better than that woman who gave the election to Bush in 2000.....can't remember her name, but she was given a job and a glamorous make-over, and she looked horrible!
And, yes, Sarah Palin seems intelligent.
And she has a great family it seems.
But there is something about her...maybe it's a "girl" thing, and you men just don't see it.
There's just something very cut-throat about her...
I wonder if she has any female friends?
News Flash ""White women have moved from 50-42 percent in Obama's favor before the conventions to 53-41 percent for McCain now, a 20-point shift,'' ABC reports today."
Her goal is to serve the best interests of America. Are you suggesting there should be more handouts to those who refuse to take care of themselves?
1...
Why the constant bailout of former enemy nations, allies, failed corps, floundering banks and allies alike to the tune of countless billions?
Our govt readily throws a mere billion here and there all over the world as if it were pennies...
2.
Why hasn'y illegal immigration been addressed?
Illegal(not legal) immigration is costing us failed medical services and social services, nevermind a drain on the economy..
yet the silence from both paries is deafening..!!!
enough is enough!

Unless you have family backing, you are sh*t out of luck. And why does it have to be this way? Why? Cause you had kid without thinking....so make the kid and you suffer for all eternity. Meanwhile, Fannie mae and freddie and savings and Loans and American Airlines who fail due to greed or bad decision making get help without the same judgements applied to them. I geuss women and kids are second class still. And it would have been nice if Palin could have said you teenage pregnant girls have an advocate in me...like she did the Down's Syndrome families. Cause after all, she can relate to that too.
Fascinating how that works.
Because a majority want govt assistance and are forever waiting for "hope"..
Fascinating how "hope" doesn't pay the mortgage..
Hard work does...
Unfortunately,'hope" does pay the bills for those with the 'right" connections..
Welcome to life as we know it..
and for those who don't...
What arrogance! Do you really think we need the two of you to explain America? And what arrogance to say the majority are looking for a hand-out! Only ones I see looking for hand-outs these days are big business....After the ceo's make out like bandits.
And honestly, the hardest working person I ever saw in my life was my next door neighbor. With three small kids and a full-time job. She didn't come home and put her feet up and get waited on like the two of you. But she'd better come over here and read this blog so she'll know that you have to work to make it in America. Blowhards.
First, you have no idea how hard my wife and I work. You have no idea what sacrifices we've made to put a roof over our head and food on the table. And we did this and continue to do this while companies are being bailed-out and part of our pay checks go to bail out those who "refuse" to work and would rather have kids on the government's dime. I'd be the first in line to help those who truly need it. I've known several people on welfare and they manipulated the system. Working under the table, not naming the babies father and having additional kids.
Bailing out companies is small change compared to the amount of money spent on social programs in this country and it serves a public good. So more people aren't put out of work and can continue providing for themselves.
The same goes for me, and I'm tired of you always insinuating that I sit around all day and take your money! what right do you have to make that assumption? Because I stick up for single moms?
Far as I can tell, the biggest social program we have going is social security and medicare, and only going to get bigger.
Single moms are chump-change compared to that!
And plenty of people work under the table, not just single moms. Many people could not survive without that "manipulation".
But give a blank check to banks, corporations, US military, all who manipulate and abuse the system ten times worse?
Just what do you suggest should happen to a single woman who ends up pregnant? Palin is against abortion and birth control, and also against Federal funding to help these mothers out. So what are they supposed to do?
"Unfortunately,'hope" does pay the bills for those with the 'right" connections.."..my exact quote.
You ,or any single mom was not intended by my prior comments of 'hope'
(That's between you and buzz)....
I agree that most hard working people (with or without kids)never get assistance..only those who usually don't work or won't..
and especially those with the "right" connections(ie big business, banks, foreign countries)..
They never hesitate to assist those with money that fail, yet abandon those who work, serve in the military, or are retired..
That's my beef!
'Hope' never assisted anyone...
We'll just see what either side delivers (promises kept) once elected.
I only "hope" there will be some "change"...
because folks from both sides of the aisle have had it!
We don't want a vp who looks and acts like a street hooker. Bet her hillbilly husband strays, he looks younger. He'll have to go fishing at cocktail hour when the ivy league shows up.
Joe Biden has brains a street hooker doesn't have. Foreign policy exp.can't be matched by someone who just got a passport and has zero exp. in politics.
Dirty old men should keep pin up posters of old women with 5 kids out of politics. This is the presidential election, not a trip to Vegas for senior showgirl selection.
Obama and Biden ticket are our only hope. Housing, jobs, healthcare, education and world peace depend on it. Let's hope the rats don't steal another election. God help us if grandpa and hillbilly hooker take this away. American dream my a$$.
Freddie and fanny, countrywide, how many more bailouts. None of us like to see those who steal welfare. We will always have the poor, but education and providing sustainable jobs is not there anymore. Jobs are overseas. Corp giants bailed for better returns elsewhere. They give us illegals and outsource. Now students can't get loans. But friends of this adm who don't pay their share in taxes can pay cash for their Harvard grad who drives a new hybrid and awaits a lucrative job at daddy's corp. While the rest of us decide between food, gas, mortgage, doctors bills, prescriptions, etc. When will it get better. We need rich taxes but instead see the trillion dollar deficit soar and protected criminals in wallstreet get away. Enron morphed.

Don't forget to add those fire fighters and police who are stealing on fraudulent disability claims- in the millions. And hedge fund pirates on wallstreet, cost of the war. Is Iran next on the wasp-Jewish alliance hit list? I'm no economist, but my guess is that is more cha-ching than welfare moms monthly check in entire USA.
When you are 65+ and the best thing to look at is a mediocre looking librarian who calls herself a "plate", has 5 kids, plus one little boy for a husband who can't grow up and needs a mommy....what else is there to talk about. Biden has 36 years in the senate vs. Platelin's 20 months as gov.? Are you guys serious? Well we know the head on top is never the one thinking. Must be tough to get old and wish you could have something else.
Buzz, it's time for you to grow up, too. Hanging out with teens is not something an old man should be doing. Good thing I'm not on the boat ride with you. You'd be the first one to go overboard, twinkie witch would be #2, and any other rug rats that planned to hide aboard the SS.Maverick. Sorry, Mav, but you can say I've become wise to the charades on this board. If we ever manage that boat ride someday, I want only friendly sea faring types aboard. Being in the middle of the Atlantic with Buzz is not my idea of having a good time. I can barely take him on this site.
Wasn't it Harry Truman (my favorite, straight-talking, tough-guy president) who said something like, "It was either staying on as a piano player in a whorehouse or entering pilitics. I couldn't see much difference."
And didn't Ronald Reagan say something like, "Politics is the world's second oldest profession; and it isn't much different from the first."
I really wanted to go on the boat ride, but I refuse to be in the company of mean spirited, immature a$$oles.
Mav & Possee, I can get along, it's the rest of you (and you know who you are) that I don't have the patience to deal with anymore. You want to be civilized, then we can meet somewhere where we can walk away. You had your chance Buzz, and you took the low road. Now you can stay there.
I prefer to surround myself with genuine people who are not afraid to tell people to scr@w if they don't like what they say or do. That is why Neddy will forever be a friend and others who know who are my blogging buddies, shelli and bitter.
Maybe Mav will realize he doesn't need them either, and we can arrange for a boat ride sometime without the BS and setups, photo ops, or whatever scheme you and mommy dearest have cooked up.
I'm done with being angry with people, so I refuse to waste my time on a$$oles.
Look there's enough blame to go around for both parties. I know the dem's aren't perfect, look what the Bulgers have done to this state!
It's a shakedown no matter what you do, or where you go. It takes me 4-5 transactions just to get a car on the road, and I refuse to buy new.
RMV: waiting in lines, license plates, registration, insurance, photos for insurance, license re-newals,and they make you pay book value, not what the bill of sale states, 5% of what they want, not what you paid....criminals...excise tax(for what? for our crumbling roads and deteriorated bridges, waiting for the Longfellow to drop into the Charles anyday now)They should rename The Big Dig-- The Big Fleecing of Mass. residents. Disgusting. Firefighters and police out on phoney disabilities. How much do the hacks make? What about the unions? No wonder businesses and people have left this state in the thousands.
You gotta calm down,woman!!
What the hell does the RMV have to do with anything?? I think you need to go on that boat ride. Man, you are doing some serious wandering this morning. Jump in my jalopy, and go to Luke's for a calm down.
Doggie
You will always be ageless, just like others who maintain their youthful, frolicing, good natured, fun to be with, self. It's the old stick in the muds, I have a problem with who show their age by their vile comments to the rest of us trying to have a good time.
When you become a blogger, you have to learn how to take it as you dole it out.
Does that just go for me? Or does Peter Robbins have to grow up and suck up all comments, too? Doesn't appear that way.
Doggie, I'm not in the mood for Luke's or your old jalopy. No boat ride with slugish backstabbers, only happy people who are genuine friends.
I'm talking about the Fleecing of America. Wake up, will ya. Maybe less stops at Lukes and more sober coffee runs would help you understand the residents of state and country's concerns. We see on a small scale, what is going on nationally. Paying for dead wood does not help the common taxpayer, it drags us down further fiscally. Time to get rid of the bums and elect those who will make this country strong again.
Vote for Obama/Biden--not useless McCain Bush's bagboy/floozy.
Let's have a drink!! Or maybe a fat one!!
Standing by
Shelli, Bitter and Neddy are just one happy voice of reason on this otherwise tained site filled with the trolls who would rather believe their own dark and twisted fairy tales.
Carry on! Who am I to stop you....it's way past happy hour...have you stopped at Lukes yet for your 180 proof? Better hurry, they might be running out. It's Fall already? Time to apply for those unemployment checks...I heard people were packing coolers full of sandwiches while visiting the Cape this season. Tough when you have to decide between gas, lodging, food. I haven't heard that the Cape had a great season yet? Did they? Or is this more BS from the chamber? Well, just think, you can always cash in those empty's at Lukes, dog, how the investments in the restaurant business?
Thank you for your kind words. I knew from the outset that you were and are educated in the Cambridge area. Was it Rindge and Latin?? I'll tell you this, sweetness and life; you are one lousy detective. I would not know Peter Robbins if he deleted me.
You really ought to read your babble before exposing yourself as a literary goof.
Cya at the Registry.
Doggie.
PS What kind of car were you registering,an Edsel?? You know, the one that looks like it is sucking a lemon.
Just keep makin' those trips to Luke's liquors. I'm sure we'll see you by the side of the road asking for a handout, one of these days.
You are one of the "gang" on this site, no doubt.
Your lame insults don't work on me. I'm better than you without even having to try hard.
Happy? Voice of reason? Neddy, is it tained, stained or tainted? Has WB seen this comment about his site?
Let's face it, all pro and con to Dem or Rep, this will be the most interesting election of our lifetime. At least I think it will.
Instead of Super Bowl parties, this may start Election Night parties!
She's censoring books at the library...one housewife who is not afraid of losing her job said, "you really don't want her"....she sounds like GW's ice witch. The log cabin republican's want her because she's prolife. What is wrong with this country? Don't you see what they have done? Think about your grandchildren. Can you honestly ensure they will have the same freedoms we once had? It will be the death to democracy if the republicans win. I can't take it anymore. I want more for my kids. They expect people to have families, when most of our young adults are faced with never being able to afford their own home, out of control fuel prices, lack of jobs, lack of student loans in order to get those jobs, while all those who have made their millions sit back and smile. If you can afford these things, you can have a quality life. If not, you are just struggling along paycheck to paycheck. Who the hell in their right mind would start a family knowing they can't get by?
I am thinking of switching parties...
Again.
The Jon Stewart Show...
Is... Really really a NEWS SHOW!
Besides, short people like us have no chance at being truely "magnanimous"...
Dangerous, perhaps... Magnanimous?
Your Greek is showing.
