Ten reasons I like Sarah Palin

Ten reasons I like Sarah Palin:

10.  She's prettier than Barack Obama.

9.  She's a better shot than Dick Cheney.

8.  She's cuddlier than cute little Dennis Kucinich.

palin_3607.  She pronounces "nuclear" better than George W.

6.  She knows what "is" is better than Bill Clinton.

5.  She knows what and where ANWR is better than Al Gore.

4.  She has a better hair-do than Mitt Romney.

3.  She wears less makeup than John Edwards.

2.  Even as a pit-bull hockey mom, she's got a better disposition than Howard Dean.

And the biggest reason I like Sarah Palin:

1.  She's got better legs than Joe Biden.

Now, while you rabid ideologues from both the right and left may grumble and swear a little because I do not subscribe to your absolute nonsense of political correctness, let me give you some hard facts.

Only 64 percent of those Americans ages 18 and older went to the polls in the last presidential election, according to data released by the Census Bureau.  Only 64 percent!

Second-rate democracies have better voting records than we do!

The agency also found that turnout rates were closely correlated to a voter's age. A little more than 73 percent of those between 65 and 74 said they voted, the highest rate for any age group. Those between the ages of 18 and 24 had the lowest, with 47 percent reported going to the polls.

It's ironic that those in the lower voting range probably make the most idealogical noise and blow the most ideological hot air, both in vociferous street protests and in mean-spirited static on the blogosphere.

November 4 is the date this year, my friends.  Write it down and do not plan to be anywhere that you can't cast a ballot, either in person or absentee.

I don't want to hear you crying that your candidate lost because of hanging chads or because you were just hangin' loose.  I don't want to hear that your idiotic Aunt Susie cast her vote at the ATM thinking it was a voting machine and that she is therefore "disenfranchised."

Unless you vote, shut up.  I don't want to hear any more whining from bed-wetting pissants because your friggin' favorite lost the election!  I know for whom I'm voting.  Do you?  Decide by November 4 and do it.  VOTE.

When the nation speaks (I would like to see a 98 percent turnout myself), then we know whom the nation is behind and we can all work together.  Don't you--a member of either party or an independent like myself--think it's about time?

Note to readers: That Jon Stewart video diatribe against Sarah Palin was not a part of my piece, but I will leave it in there because of my innate magnanimity.

Most of us recognize it as satire, but the danger is that those dumb, whining, pissants whom I am exhorting to get out and vote probably think the Jon Stewart Hour is a REAL news show.

Hmmm, there must be more than one Solon, as the one who whined about being called on for his vapid rebuttal of Palin's "qualifications" would NEVER call people dumb, whining, pissants.

CNN's poll is a dead heat. They explained that their polling has always had fewer "don't knows", therefore less movement.

Mav, thanks. I've sent serious stuff to O'Reilly in the past, and have never received an acknowledgement, much less a thank you. Yet three weeks later he was doing a piece on it as if he was the great uncoverer of evil deeds. I'm sort of fed up with Fox.

He went to Dayton and took a liberal undecided young man to hear the announcement of Palin as VP. He debates his views with peers that sees the other side and challenges them to think on the issues while he listens to them. At 17 he is more schooled in Politics and the Military then a host of many who are in politics and the military. Yet he can not vote yet. Those of you who don't get to vote, shame on you. Can't get out, absentee voting is available. Don't have transportation absentee voting, and you are never to old to be heard. He can't because of age by days. The rest of you don't have an excuse. First, you have no idea how hard my wife and I work. You have no idea what sacrifices we've made to put a roof over our head and food on the table. And we did this and continue to do this while companies are being bailed-out and part of our pay checks go to bail out those who "refuse" to work and would rather have kids on the government's dime. I'd be the first in line to help those who truly need it. I've known several people on welfare and they manipulated the system. Working under the table, not naming the babies father and having additional kids.

Bailing out companies is small change compared to the amount of money spent on social programs in this country and it serves a public good. So more people aren't put out of work and can continue providing for themselves.

The same goes for me, and I'm tired of you always insinuating that I sit around all day and take your money! what right do you have to make that assumption? Because I stick up for single moms?
Far as I can tell, the biggest social program we have going is social security and medicare, and only going to get bigger.
Single moms are chump-change compared to that!
And plenty of people work under the table, not just single moms. Many people could not survive without that "manipulation".
But give a blank check to banks, corporations, US military, all who manipulate and abuse the system ten times worse?
Just what do you suggest should happen to a single woman who ends up pregnant? Palin is against abortion and birth control, and also against Federal funding to help these mothers out. So what are they supposed to do?

I agree that most hard working people (with or without kids)never get assistance..only those who usually don't work or won't..
and especially those with the "right" connections(ie big business, banks, foreign countries)..

They never hesitate to assist those with money that fail, yet abandon those who work, serve in the military, or are retired..

That's my beef!

'Hope' never assisted anyone...

We'll just see what either side delivers (promises kept) once elected.

For all you folks who wondered what happened to Shelli: May I introduce you to her sarcastic sister?? Cru, you talk all about subjects that really don't make much sense.I think most of the folks in this arena were chatting about the "pig with lipstick". Now, if the lady at the Registry looked like her, let us know that.I don't think it's an elected office though.
Let's have a drink!! Or maybe a fat one!!

dog, why not show your face from that dog house which you are chained. Peter, you really should try to do better at impersonating a credible poster from the Cape. NOT! Those of us who have been here long enough know how to do the sniff test--and yours is coming up smelling like Peter Robbins the blogger who can't take the heat!

Shelli, Bitter and Neddy are just one happy voice of reason on this otherwise tained site filled with the trolls who would rather believe their own dark and twisted fairy tales.

Carry on! Who am I to stop you....it's way past happy hour...have you stopped at Lukes yet for your 180 proof? Better hurry, they might be running out. It's Fall already? Time to apply for those unemployment checks...I heard people were packing coolers full of sandwiches while visiting the Cape this season. Tough when you have to decide between gas, lodging, food. I haven't heard that the Cape had a great season yet? Did they? Or is this more BS from the chamber? Well, just think, you can always cash in those empty's at Lukes, dog, how the investments in the restaurant business?

Crewsated,
Thank you for your kind words. I knew from the outset that you were and are educated in the Cambridge area. Was it Rindge and Latin?? I'll tell you this, sweetness and life; you are one lousy detective. I would not know Peter Robbins if he deleted me.
You really ought to read your babble before exposing yourself as a literary goof.
Cya at the Registry.

Doggie.
PS What kind of car were you registering,an Edsel?? You know, the one that looks like it is sucking a lemon.

dog,

Just keep makin' those trips to Luke's liquors. I'm sure we'll see you by the side of the road asking for a handout, one of these days.

You are one of the "gang" on this site, no doubt.

Your lame insults don't work on me. I'm better than you without even having to try hard.

Happy? Voice of reason? Neddy, is it tained, stained or tainted? Has WB seen this comment about his site?

Cru, I think it was Groucho Marx. Just kidding. What does it matter? She came in second in a beauty contest--I'd love to see who came in first.

Let's face it, all pro and con to Dem or Rep, this will be the most interesting election of our lifetime. At least I think it will.

Instead of Super Bowl parties, this may start Election Night parties!

She's censoring books at the library...one housewife who is not afraid of losing her job said, "you really don't want her"....she sounds like GW's ice witch. The log cabin republican's want her because she's prolife. What is wrong with this country? Don't you see what they have done? Think about your grandchildren. Can you honestly ensure they will have the same freedoms we once had? It will be the death to democracy if the republicans win. I can't take it anymore. I want more for my kids. They expect people to have families, when most of our young adults are faced with never being able to afford their own home, out of control fuel prices, lack of jobs, lack of student loans in order to get those jobs, while all those who have made their millions sit back and smile. If you can afford these things, you can have a quality life. If not, you are just struggling along paycheck to paycheck. Who the hell in their right mind would start a family knowing they can't get by?

The Jon Stewart Show...

Is... Really really a NEWS SHOW!

Besides, short people like us have no chance at being truely "magnanimous"...

Dangerous, perhaps... Magnanimous?

Your Greek is showing.
