Obama and Biden voted for $223 million Bridge to Nowhere earmark instead of funding for Katrina rebuilding
O
ne devoutly hopes the McCain-Palin campaign harps on this incessantly. From an op-ed column by US Senator Jim DeMint, R-S.C., in today's Wall Street Journal --
"... Mrs. Palin also killed the infamous Bridge to Nowhere in her own state. Yes, she once supported the project: But after witnessing the problems created by earmarks for her state and for the nation's budget, she did what others like me have done: She changed her position and saved taxpayers millions. Even the Alaska Democratic Party credits her with killing the bridge.
"When the Senate had its chance to stop the Bridge to Nowhere and transfer the money to Katrina rebuilding, Messrs. Obama and Biden voted for the $223 million earmark, (emphasis added) siding with the old boys' club in the Senate. And to date, they still have not publicly renounced their support for the infamous earmark."

Any thoughts Dem?
No posts on this subject..
The silence is deafening...
Rather have Obama and Biden anyday.
Palin and McCain are a sick joke.
The media alleges her misuse of office funds when she's not in office, but watching the kiddie's. What no nanny?
What gets me, is the same prolifers who b!tch about abortions are also the same who b!tch about welfare mothers. Can't have it both ways.
How hard can it be to raise 5 kids, one with a very expensive and time consuming handicap when you have a union guy fisherman husband who works for oil rigs, and also on the state tab collecting a governors paycheck.
Give me a break. And I guess she also pays for a physical trainer so she can keep looking like she never had a child either. Wonder if the bra can keep them up? What do ya think guys? Do you know what 5 kids does to a woman's body? She's no barbie doll.
Obama fundraiser in Somerville, Johnny D's.
Did you know that her husband is part Eskimo? You think it will matter to the Mayflower crowd? Well I guess he's not black, right.
Dog
The hypocracy from both sides is ridiculous..
just as the mudslinging goes..
I find it amusing (the silence) when the Dems have the same argument thrown at them regarding voting records..
hey all is fair game in politics.
I am enjoying the battle from both sides.
It will continue to escalate while we still pay the bill..ehh?
You know, it's like this: Which is the worse of two evils, as the saying goes....I'm always going to vote the Democratic ticket, as long as I like who is running. I use to register as an independent, but that was before I realized that most republicans were never going to help the middle class or poor. So here I am, the socialist-democratic-communist queen! And I love it! Rather be there than with the republican war moguls.
Did you know that LBJ had a urinal in his office....it was his sink. Gotta love those Texans, they are just as crazy as those Alaskans.
So who will you be voting for, Possee?
Maverick,
I don't Walter pays attention anymore, that's why it's not so much fun here. At least in the old days, he'd show some interest in his bloggers, now all we got is twinkies....blahhhhkkkkkk
Like I said, at least the democratic presidents don't get caught with their pants down in the men's room with young men.
Maybe that is their problem? But you guys think that the democrat's are the only sexual promiscuous and or deviants.......LOL! Maybe if they laid off the booze and shotguns for awhile they wouldn't have so many hangups.
Real gal-of-the-people eh?
And McDermott has joined Kucinich in calling for Bush's impeachment.
Thank God!!!....maybe this nightmare is really truly over. not hoping too hard though...don't want to jinx it.
And my 14 yr.old daughter has an Obama pin on her bag.....I think today I will join her. Obama 08!
Let's hope we can get that American Dream back, hey Neddy....so far it's been nothing but a FREAKIN' NIGHTMARE!
Hey, I'll leave you with this one:
I heard today that the ENRON lawyers just got their cut....take a guess...I guessed about 50 mil....think again....total figure was 600 MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE LAWYERS WHO REPRESENTED ENRON....so they could file for bankruptcy and those who planned on their hefty retirements got paid, don't know how much, but it came out of selling off ENRON ASSETS, not the money...so stick that in your McCain - Palin takeover from Bush - Cheney...criminal enterprise...see ya...wouldn't wanna be ya....

Can you drop the link into my email? I'm on the berry and can't get the link you posted. I'm headed to the Obama fundraiser if I get some pics I'll post...curious to see the turnout...we must all do our part. see ya workin for my.buddy who's running for state rep...we got to take this country back!!! Thanks Neddy for letting me know!
Might the same things be going on?
John and Sarah will put an end to it.
Have a good evening.
Still afraid to hope for it, but going to do everything in my power to make it happen. If my kid can get excited about politics, then what the hell, I should too!
I'm in! The place is packed! Wall to wall at Johnny D's Somerville. Obama fundraiser for those of you just tuning in. The band is about to begin. Go Obama!
Hey bitter, read the story from the link. No surprises there, who is sleeping with the govt.? Really sleeping with the govt! I'll be sure to show it to my wallstreet tracker at work,a great guy, but we debate too... He says no good guys... Only bums...he teases me about dems I give it back about rep. War Hogs...all healthy debates not like here!
maverick sounds like he's gonna vote for 'John and Sarah'. How on Earth do we hope to tell guys like this that 'honor' leads straight to Armageddon? And that Armageddon may in retrospect may turn out not to've been such a hot idea?
Had a blast! Met some cool dudes. Man to my left, a Harvard grad student who is studying quantam physics. We discussed terminal velocity vs. matter vs. bullets shot in the air...while drinking amber ale....man to the right, musician who I interviewed for my next blog....you won't believe.. he lives on the Cape! LOL..even if I try I'm destined to be always connected no matter where I'll be....details to follow with photos this evening...place was packed! McCain has a snowball's chance! People are passionate about this election and so sick of the criminal enterprise!
And I think it's well known that Palin was for the bridge until it became known that there was an outcry against it, and that Alaska would have to actually spend some money on the project. Clear as a bell.
Now it should be acknowledged that McCain never supports earmarks. How he picks the Governor that requests more per capita in earmarks is amusing. Could be the influence of all the former lobbyists in his campaign? It's not like McCain hasn't sold out on any number of things since his loss in 2000.
Obama beat Hillary. Mcshame is an easy sweep.
I wish you and Neddy could have been there last night. It's what some of us needed, to mobilize and get involved. Sure Cambridge/Somerville is an easy win for Obama, but I don't trust the rep. party. They don't want to lose. They just want to keep the New World Power alive and churning. We have to get out and ensure this election is run fairly. Obama has come a long way in this campaign. We can't stop now. Don't listen to the media. They will do anything to stop Obama from winning this election.
Uncle Larry's hooked on ice again
He seems to be stuck in the 80's
He wears his members only jacket
Cause he thinks it turns on all the ladies..And all the white folks shake their asses..Looking for the two and four..I'll have mine in martini glasses
Cause I can't take it anymore..
These are the days of empty kitchens
The rise and fall of Mary Ellen's hairdo
I think she's found a new religion
Studying the Kabalah in her J.Crew..
And all the rich kids shake their asses
Looking for the two and four
Well I'll have mine with Blackstrap molasses.Cause I can't taste it anymore
No I can't taste it anymore. My friend Gregg says it's all good As the eastern seaboard's blown away Now everything is going half-price So look at all the money we've saved. And all the politicians shake their asses
Looking for the backdoor
I'll just be hanging out with the lasses
Cause they don't like the boys no more

You got the farms in Argentina
Making fuel from sugar cane
You got the b@stards in Washington
Afraid of popping the greed vain
Cause the money's in the pipeline
