Brewster Recreation Update - Halloween Haunt, Cooking With Mommy, Wii Tournament and more!
Are you ready for Halloween yet? We are! Preparations are underway for the Brewster Recreation Halloween Haunt at Ocean Edge on Saturday, October 25! Mark your calendar . . . there'll be fun for everyone, with a Black Maze, Ghost Story-Telling and some not-so-scary treats and art projects for the little ones too! Entry fee will be $3 each with all proceeds to benefit the Brewster Needy Fund and other Brewster Recreation programs. Stay tuned for details!
Speaking of treats, another "Cooking With Mommy" class at the Brewster Baptist Church is forming for kids ages 3-5 and their adult partner. The classes are on Fridays 9:30AM - 10:30AM. Session #1 (Oct. 17-31) students will cook up some scary treats like an edible haunted house, candy aplpes and more! Session #2 (Dec. 5-20) will focus on Holiday Cookies and other delicious holiday treats. A minimum of 6 students need to sign up for the class to take place and the maximum is 12. Fee is $30 ($40 for non-residents) and includes all materials.
We are excited to see your entries for the logo contest starting to come in. Be sure to complete yours and have it in our hands by the deadline, Friday, November 5! Some people have asked if they can work on the entry together as a group and the answer is, OF COURSE! You can do whatever you want, as long as it's on 8 ½ x 11 white copy paper!
For all you Middle Schoolers, don't forget about our special Gaming Night next Friday from 7:00PM - 9:30PM at Eddy School where the gym will be transformed into a Rock Block stage complete with projection screen for the most awesome Guitar Hero Tournament on this side of the bridge! The Rec. Room will also host Mario Cart, Wii Sports and "The Bigs" games as well! Bring your favorite controller and have some fun! The fee is $10 per student and all proceeds go toward the Brewster Rec. Middle School Advisory Council.
Lastly, when you come into the office to sign up or visit, please add your guess to the Candy Corn Count list! The corns will be counted on Oct. 31 and one lucky winner will be drawn from the pool of correct guesses! The Grand Prize is a $50 gift certificate toward a rec program of your choice!
As always, check our web site at www.town.brewster.ma.us or call 508 896 9430 if you have any questions.
