Board Requests, President Schatzberg Agrees To Remain And Lead Cape Cod Community College
WEST BARNSTABLE - President Kathleen Schatzberg will remain at Cape Cod Community College after the Board of Trustees today asked her not to retire at the end of the academic year. In a special meeting Friday morning October 10, 2008, citing the need
for continuity and stability as the College faces looming budget cuts, the Board voted unanimously to ask President Schatzberg to remain at the helm of the College. In response, the President has agreed to remain and help shepherd the institution through the upcoming difficult period.
“The Board felt strongly that the looming economic and budget crisis has changed the outlook for the College. It is our collective judgment that the College community is best served by keeping our management team in place with President Schatzberg at the helm,” stated Board Chairman Robert Mills. “ We are gratified that President Schatzberg has agreed to stay on.”
In response President Schatzberg stated, “I sincerely thank the Board for their confidence in me, and I look forward to continuing my long and positive relationship with the College.”

Schatzberg had announced in September that this would be her eleventh and final year with Cape Cod Community College as their leader. See story here.
