$1.99/Gallon And Dropping Like A Ho

Monponsett cranks out a list of the lowest prices here

George Bush (under the thumb of a chastising Democratic Congress) can kill all the Muslims he wants if gas prices keep dropping like this. In fact, I'd even allow the man some wiggle room for Buddhists, Wiccan enthusiasts and Hindus if we can steal a few pennies from their oil-soaked carcasses.

Gas prices are going down like a skilled wharf girl, leaving people to wonder if $.99 a gallon is within reach. Maybe the Arabs will be paying us soon... as rightfully they should, the devious SOBs.

I'd list the prices one can find if they hunt around in Wareham and Buzzards Bay a bit, but it's easier to just tell you that it's $1.99 a gallon all around up here. So, we will instead focus on the suckers still charging over $2.00 a gallon on the Cape.

THE GAS LINE:

Delcie's Gulf, Buzzards Bay, $2.11

Gulf, Rte 28, Hyannis (the other two Gulf stations in Hyannis are $1.99 and $2.00, respectively... someone 'splain that, please)

West Main Gas and Car Wash, Hyannis, $2.01

Speedway on Willow St., $2.04

Citgo, 28A, Bourne, $2.37

Sunoco, Otis Rotary, $2.24

Irving, Rte. 28, Bourne, $2.05

Gulf, Rte 134, Dennis, $2.34

Shell, Rte 134, Dennis, $2.49

Sunoco, State Highway, Eastham, $2.21

Mobil, Wild Harbor Rd, Falmouth, $2.29

Getty, Rte 28A, Falmouth, $2.19

 Exxon, Rte 151, Falmouth, $2.09

Gulf, Rte 6A, Orleans, $2.23

Christy's, Rte 28,  Orleans, $2.25, but there may be a Whoopie Pie discount

Going off-Cape to Plymouth is no help... they range from $2.01-$2.14 up there.

Gulf, Shank Painter Road, Provincetown, $2.29

Citgo, Rte 6A, Sandwich, $2.17

Irving, 6A, Sandwich, $2.17

Shell, Old Town House Road, Yarmouth, $2.29

Getty, Main Street, Yarmouth, $2.23

 Jay Mart (LOL), Yarmouth, $2.09

I have EVER seen this website post!!!
Were you drinking when you wrote this?
This is trash!!! If I were the editor
of this site I would delete this obscenity and blacklist the author.
I could read better journalism on
a public restroom wall and I would'nt even need a computer for it!!
You call the local gas stations
"suckers" and post it in bolface!!
What the hell is going on here??
This is the STUPIDEST

I went to Christy's at Bass River to gas up, enticed by the 10 cent per gallon cash discount and saw that the price was $2.19 I promptly left and went to the little gas station just south of there to pay $2.05 Seriously, Christy, that 10 cent discount is meaningless when one can get it 4 cents cheaper down the road, at their regular price. Until that changes, you'll get no business from me.

Its $2.09 today. We pay a much higher price for the exxon product because we are dealer of exxon and can not access the open markets. our others sites are in the $1.99 range. sorry--but that's the real fact. buy it where you can and what serves you the best Jon---all the best and stay warm.

While you folks drive all over the Cape looking for the lowest gas price. How about a simple idea. Drive to the nearest gas outlet near home. And then go to work.

Or is "work" finding the cheapest gas outlet on Cape? Is this a new hobby? Nothing better to do with your lives?

I love Cape Cod.

It's the residents I have a problem with.

"public service website"?

Bought and paid for by Cape Wind. This site is an advertising medium and I support it. It is not here to serve the public, nor should it. It exists to gain traffic and sell ads. So be it.

My problem Monpo is when a dissenting opinion from the theme of their advertising gets trashed. And the commenter in the process.

"being a tool"? For whom. Just supporting what I believe from the bottom of my heart.

I love Cape Cod and Nantucket Sound. And there are many alternative sites besides Horseshoe. Just not as lucrative for the developer.

He could care less about you or I. And even less for Nantucket Sound. He will destroy it in a heartbeat if it meets his financial objective.

Love your spirit and posts. I think you should give a hoot whether it is built or not. Enjoy the day.

True mav... At yer age we all can understand. It's ok... We still love you.

Look at it this way...
There are many alternative sites for you to fish...
You choose the ones you do for certain reasons...

Generally, you (Unless you are a real dummy) choose thet ones you do for the fact that the FISH BITE better in some locations than others...
Guess what?...

The wind blows in some locations better than others and the sea conditions are better in some locations than others and the depth is more agreeable and the proximity to shore makes more sense and...
Get the picture?

You, my friend are no different.
You choose a certain size boat / fuel / home port / crew...

For all the same reasons.

I am disheartened by your attitude & perspective about this truly honorable person who no doubt will go down in the history books as the guy who opened the door for near/offshore wind farms in the US.

I admire, respect and wish him the very best...
Hopefully he will make loads of dough too...
After all this BS, he deserves every dime he makes on the project.

Mav, everyday crap is spewed into the atmosphere from Brayton Pt. power plant & the Miriant plant...

This low level junk that blankets the C&I's we all breath, drink & eat.

Add to this the rest of the nations burnt fossil fuels that find their way via the jet stream into OUR back yard.

To suggest that a WIND FARM that does not burn fossil fuels will "destroy" Nantucket Sound...

Is tantamount to saying a Prius will destroy the automobile industry...

Stinkin' thinkin' at best and you know it, you old fart!

We are DESTROYING Nantucket Sound every day by polluting the air & the waters we breath & recreate etal.

Open your eyes & suck it up...

This page (Cheap Gas) is just about telling folks where to go and where to avoid when gassing up. The average driver can save some $5 a week or so by shopping a bit, and it adds up over the course of the year.

I don't get any Gordon money, nor any Walter money. Would you honestly pay for what I do here?

As far as NH vs the Cape... the worst gas prices in Massachusetts during the time I've been tracking it are in A) Boston, B) the Kingston/Duxbury/Cohasset/Hingham stretch of Route 3A and C) Cape Cod... with Cape Cod being the worst, by far.

I'd love a marine section to this column, where someone who knows boats and stuff like that could weigh in whenever he/she felt like it. I bet Walter could rig this column so Mav could post in it.

Ha monpo!... A marine section? You mean like in 'Boats'? = -BreakOutAnotherThousandSucker-

Having had probably dozens of boats during my "marine" life from 12' Beetlecats to the boat that almost sunk me a 62' center cockpit cutter...

I can readily vouch for the fact that unless you have oddles of disposible cash (or you -were- an IDIOT like m) laying around...

The best investment you can make to spend some quality time on the water is to find a way to be invited aboard -SOMEONE ELSE'S- (Is that gramatically correct?) B-O-A-T...

You bring: The sandwiches (please, oh God please, no ham & cheese!) prepared with love...

Bring: ALL the booze (don't cheap out & not in PLASTIC -etch!)...

Pay for (or bring from off cape:): ALL the fuel to boot.

You will fare much better and the yard bills will be someone elses problem.

How's that for the start of a "marine section"?
