Something Else To Stuff With Food Aside From Your Face

What you see above is a small problem that we're having in Onset.
That's a Food Donation truck, and it isn't very full. What we're shooting for here is that sucker stacked to the gills. You see, that's the truck for the Onset Fire Department Cold For A Cause food drive. The food (and donations) collected will go to local food pantries.
That's a pretty good cause, and these are pretty good people supporting it. Firefighters do a lot for the community, and they don't ask much in return... a bit of tax money, and maybe you getting out from in front of the truck when they have the siren going. Whatever they're getting paid, it's about a million dollars less per fire than I'd demand for running into a burning building after some dumb and careless smoker.
So... what you all need to do is A) gather up some non perishable food items, B) take them down to the empty lot in front of the former Golf Etc. store (on the Cranberry Highway/Rte 6, across from Pizza Boy and Sullivan Tire), and reap the good Karma.
There's still time, but you'd better get to steppin'. They will be camped out all night tonight and til 4 PM Sunday. I went there Friday night with my friend (www.AnaPaulina.com) and dropped off a box of goodies.
I'd recommend showing and proving soon... the next time you see one of these guys, he may be deciding whether it's worth it to risk his own ass to climb into a burning house and pull you out. You want to be able to look at him in that situation and be like "Remember me? I was the one at the food drive with all the rigatoni and the Sugar Corn Pops."
