New Level Three Sex Offender living in Yarmouth; Big Cape-Vegas narcotics ring busted

Yarmouth Police issue a Level 3 Sex Offender Notice

Individual is not wanted by the authorities

YARMOUTH - The Yarmouth Police Department has issued a Level 3 Sex Offender community notice for an individual now living in Yarmouth Port.  Harold H. Isham Jr., 47, is now residing at 19 Barnacle Road in Yarmouth Port.  He is currently unemployed.

Isham is a white male, 5'8", 220 lbs, with brown eyes and gray hair.

He was convicted for two counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Dissemination of Matter Harmful to Minors and Indecent Assault & Battery on a Person Under 14.  According to the Sex Offender Registry Board website, the assault charges were filed in 1982 and 1989 and the possession charges are from 2007.

Isham has been designated a Level 3 Sex Offender by the Sex Offender Registry Board (SORB). The Board has determined that this individual is at a high risk to re-offend and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a substantial public safety interest is served by active community notification.

According to SORB, seven Level 3 Sex Offenders are registered and residing in the town of Yarmouth.

Key prescription drug dealer arrested in West Yarmouth

Cape Cod-Vegas Oxy drug ring busted

Valerie Campos was arrested Tuesday on felony narcotics charges. Police believe Campos spent over $20,000 flying back and forth from Las Vegas with large quantities of Oxycodone, Oxycontin and Xanax over a two year period.

WEST YARMOUTH - On Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 11:45 p.m., members of the Barnstable and Yarmouth  Police Departments executed an arrest warrant at room 217 of the Travelodge Motel at 216 Route 28 in West Yarmouth.  Valerie E. Campos, 42, was arrested and transported to the Barnstable Police Department where she was held overnight and transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.

Campos was charged with two Felony Counts of Trafficking in Class A Narcotic Oxycodone and Felony Possession with Intent to Distribute Class E Narcotic Xanax.  She is currently being held at the Barnstable County Correctional Facility in Bourne on $25,000 bail.

The arrest of Campos completed a two year investigation involving the interstate transportation and distribution of large quantities of prescription narcotics, namely Oxycodone, Oxycontin, and Xanax.  Barnstable Detective Colin Kelley and Dennis Detective Jack Brady were the primary investigators.

During the investigation, Detectives learned that Valerie Campos had been traveling from Cape Cod to Las Vegas for the purpose of obtaining thousands of prescription pills which she and her associates subsequently sold on the streets of Cape Cod.  Campos carried many of the pills on her person as she flew back to Massachusetts.  Detectives identified at least 32 cross country flights taken by Campos between 2006 and 2008.  Campos paid approximately $20,000 in airfare for the travel.

Detectives also discovered that Campos and her husband, Benjamin Carpenter, 35, of Hyannis, routinely received FedEx shipments of pills from the Las Vegas area.  In August of 2008, Detectives intercepted an overnight FedEx package addressed to Campos and retrieved by Carpenter in Hyannis.  Detectives observed Carpenter flag down a FedEx delivery driver on Ridgewood Drive in Hyannis and obtain the package.  A search warrant was obtained for the package and detectives seized approximately 340 diverted prescription pills.

On November 14, 2008, detectives discovered that Campos had once again flown to Las Vegas to purchase a large quantity of prescription pills.  Upon returning to Hyannis, Campos, who has many aliases, was arrested on numerous unrelated warrants.  Campos was found to be in possession of approximately one thousand Oxycodone tablets and 100 Xanax tablets.  The street value of the seized narcotics was approximately $30,000.

It is estimated, based on information obtained from Campos, that between 2006 and 2008, Campos and her associates obtained and/or sold approximately twenty five thousand diverted prescription pills with a street value of roughly $500,000.  The investigation continues and Barnstable Detectives are working with Las Vegas authorities on the case and additional arrests are expected.

What is it with the town of Yarmouth? They seem to have a corner on the market of Level 3. Sex offenders.

Does the town actively recruit them?
Are other towns staunchly NIMBY? Are they thinking of forming a marching band with them for 4th of July parades?

Just wondering...

No Bob, in fact if you look it up, you'll see Harwich, for example, has the same number of Level 3 Sex Offenders in their town.

The Yarmouth PD just does an excellent job of disseminating information, thereby informing the public.

Other towns should follow Yarmouth's example and keep all Cape residents well-informed.

One could only hope the incarceration will be paid for by seized assets.

Unlikely..

I don't know the drug business, but I do know what it costs to look remotely presentable, and this chick more than made the money. But her customers don't have to look at her--just get the drugs from her.

Professional one-step color process and highlights: $150

Getting an actual haircut: $50 (these are girl's prices, not guy's prices)

Eyebrows waxed: $50

Hair extensions (there isn't much to work with) $300

Nothing to be done quickly with the face but makeup: $150

Jewelry, an actual outfit: depends.

The other ladies' mug shots from last night were much more cheerful.

I want to know the follow up. I think she was in the court report & will have to go back to court. Is she free? or Will she be held until her court date? The bail should be much higher than 25K. With all the money she makes they should have set the bail much higher. Plus her connections off-cape. I bet she does not come back for her arraignment. It will be another waste of taxpayers dollars as they let her walk the streets getting more innocent people/kids addicted.
