Geriatric's revenge

Watch out for those Senior Citizens! (from a friend)

The other day I went downtown to run a few errands. I went into the local coffee shop for a snack.
I was only there for about 5 minutes, and when I came out, there was this cop writing out a parking ticket.

I said to him, 'Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break'?

He ignored me and continued writing the ticket. His insensitivity annoyed me, so I called him a 'Nazi.'

He glared at me and then wrote out another ticket for having worn tires.

So I proceeded to call him a 'doughnut eating Gestapo.' He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first.

Then he wrote a third ticket when I called him a moron in blue.

This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I talked back to him the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, I didn't really care. I came downtown on the bus, and the car that he was putting the tickets on had one of those bumper stickers that said, 'STOP the Wind Farm'

I try to have a little fun each day now that I'm retired.

The doctor tells me that it's important for my health.

This is a joke, right? If not, then you shouldn't park illegally and when you do, keep the trap shut, take the ticket and ask for a hearing.

Joke appears in the AARP magazine every 6 months.
But it is always new to the readers.

Why the hell should a retired person get a break? What about the working people paying for these old farts who have nothing better to do than harass cops--they're the ones who need a break.

I was on a police advisory committee. In Illinois. I recomended that before
cadets enter police academy they have 2 years of college. A course in social studies, to learn how to handle people.
My daughter had to go for 2 years in college before she entered a high profiled Nursing School. We need to elevate the self-worth and skills of police these days.
Here in Arizona they shoot 3 times and answer questions why they had to shoot a person three times? The answer was. "I thought he had a gun." The man was unarmed. He was reaching for his wallet. The Police department need to be trained same as troopers. Not just given a uniform, a badge, and a gun and told to go out and take care of the people. The mind set is far from reality.

capemom: I have had more encounters with police than I care to remember. I had a common carrier delivery business. I was able to sort out the few good police from the bad ones. A Police commander I knew, I asked him about his business. He said. I inherited some good officers, and some bad officers.
Having had to work in retail after the 1974/75 recession. I ran after thieves almost every day in Chicago.
I told a group of police coming out of a restaurant. "I am getting too old to run after thieves! All they said, Do you want to file a complaint?"
"Why bother!" I said
One time driving my truck, a policeman came over to me. "You see that restaurant across the street?" " When I come out I want your brake light that is out, fixed !"
I scooted across to a gas station and had it fixed. When the police officer came out. I asked his name, shook his hand and thanked him." That is what I respect. You have to earn respect.
