Chatham Police recover stolen boat after warrant arrest


   Travis T. Husband arrested by the Chatham Police on 5 outstanding warrants and for receiving stolen property.

CHATHAM - Based on an ongoing investigation, Chatham Police Investigators have recovered a stolen boat.

On Thursday, July 09, 2009, Chatham Police arrested Travis T. Husband, 37, of South Yarmouth.  Mr. Husband was arrested for having five (5) outstanding default arrest warrants.  Husband was arrested at a residence on Hallet Lane in Chatham.

During this investigation, Detective Louis Malzone located items at the Hallet Lane residence that were in question.  Investigators determined that a SeaCraft 20" center console boat, with a Mercury 175hp outboard, and a SeaCraft trailer (right) was on the property.  Further investigation revealed that the boat was reported stolen from a boat brokerage company in Barnstable.

Husband has been charged with receiving stolen property and will be arraigned in Orleans District Court on Monday, July 13, 2009.  This investigation is continuing.

Chatham Police search warrant leads to arrests and seizure of counterfeit cash and printing equipment

CHATHAM - Responding to a reported suspicious incident, Chatham Police investigators executed a search warrant at 1297 Main Street Apt. A in Chatham.  Police seized over $700 worth of counterfeit $20 bills, a counterfeit $100 bill, two computers, a printer, several portable data storage devices, several cell phones, several iPods, and printing equipment. 

Police also arrested two citizens from Kazakhstan (in America on visas), and charged them each with Possession of Counterfeit Currency and Manufacturing Counterfeit Currency/Possession of Tools to Manufacture Counterfeit Currency.

Arrested were: 

  • Alexandr Kustovskiy, 21, 1297 Main Street, Apt A., Chatham (last known address)
  • Alibek Tailakov, 19, 1297 Main Street, Apt. A, Chatham (last known address)

Both are currently being held on $5000 cash (each), and both are scheduled for arraignment in Orleans District Court on Monday, July 13, 2009.

Chatham Police investigators and agents from the United States Secret Service are currently investigating if any of the counterfeit cash has been passed in the area.  The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in this investigation.

Given the coming implosion of our currency, they were just getting prepared.
One detail omitted was the quality of the counterfeit..details please..

"In America on visas" -- what kind of visas? Tourist visas? Student visas? Work visas?

More thank likely, they were her on J1 student visas -- but had jobs here. Any idea where they worked?
