Reminder from the Falmouth PD: don't make it easy on the criminals, lock your cars
FALMOUTH - The Falmouth Police Department needs your help. Every year vehicles in Falmouth are the target of theft. In 2008, the Falmouth Police Department investigated around 300 reports involving theft from vehicles.
With two months left in 2009, the department has already reached over 300 reports involving thefts from vehicles. While some of these cases result in arrests, often they do not.
The common denominator for victims was leaving their car unlocked.
The Falmouth Police Department offers the following helpful tips:
- Lock your car doors
- Remove valuable items
- Remove the vehicle keys
Call the police department if you witness suspicious activity
