The latest local police and fire newsWest Barnstable Rollover Accident on Route 6
One serious injury, road shut down for a time
WEST BARNSTABLE - One West Yarmouth womn was seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover accident on Route 6 eastbound in West Barnstable Sunday (11-01-09) morning around 8:00 AM. The sports utility vehicle came to rest in the high speed lane of the highway after rolling over. The occupant of the vehicle was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with "trauma 1" injuries according to police radio reports. The roadway was shut down for a short time as rescue crews worked to clear up the accident scene. All of lanes of route 6 eastbound were reopened around 9:00 AM. State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. (Photos by David G. Curran)
