One injured, took an hour to free driver

BOURNE - One person was injured in a single vehicle truck rollover on Route 25 eastbound on the Bourne/ Plymouth town line Friday afternoon (11-20-09) around 1:20 PM.
Firefighters from Bourne, Plymouth and Onset spent nearly one half hour extricating the female victim from the vehicle using the jaws of life. The extent of the female victim's injuries is unknown at this time. She is being transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham. State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. (Photo by David G. Students arrested at Cape Cod Tech protest, school in "lock down"
Student Facebook cites heavy-handed disciplinary treatment of students
A heavy police presence was visible outside the school, and police on the scene told a news photographer the facility was "locked down."
HARWICH - Students held a sit-in protest at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich early Friday morning, and the event led to the arrests of at least two students.
A Facebook page set up by students said the "silent sit-in" demonstration was meant to call attention to what they say is heavy-handed disciplinary treatment of students by some teachers and school administrators.
Several students and parents outside the school while the protest was going on said more than 400 of the school's 600 students were participating in what began as a peaceful protest. They said many of the grievances were directed toward Dean of Students Paula Maxwell.

Harwich police confirmed the arrests of two students at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School Friday morning, after a student protest of school administration policies became disorderly.
Police Sgt. Kevin Considine said one female student, a juvenile whose name and hometown was not released, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing a school assembly. Student Tom Wordell, 18, of Harwich, was charged with disorderly conduct and vandalizing school property, when he allegedly punched a window, cracking the glass, after being told to disburse from the protest and return to class, police said... Viewing your link all I could think of was our Native Americans.
If you would find time, when not playing grab ass and thank you's with Jonathan, please pay respect to those who owned North America before we arrived and stole it from them at gunpoint.
And a little news and information would be helpful. I know what the Sagamore and Bourne look like both in the fog and whenever. Traffic and no traffic, accidents and no accidents.
You my friend have Ned syndrome. Someone once told you they liked your photography. Now you are one.
No rant, just an opinion. We are all entitled to one.
"Ana...If you call your comment "news and information" might I put up a few "Westerns" or should I go back to the good old days of "Cowboys and Indians"?
1. It is News + Information. Please embrace reality.
2. You don't have to go back to "Cowboys & Indians. That was before Jack Kevorkian's rise to fame.
Just go back to Dr. Kevorkian. This should be sufficient.
3. If you were REALLY concerned about Native Americans, you would NOT
be endorsing a subject like "Cowboys & Indians."
Mav posted:
"You my friend have Ned syndrome."
Why do you address someone as "My friend" after you criticize them?
Don't answer that- I don't want to know.
You have MAV SYNDROME and you are infecting others.
And I post again, that you bury yourself deeper with each post.
You are now halfway to People's Republic of China.
You will need a valid Passport to enter this country.
Please arrange to have your Passport delivered to me and I will drop it down to you.

Nor do I. Having printed photography books for the following masters I find your remarks shallow and your photography lacking.

Would you like Tea & Crumpets with that too?
Did it ever occur to you that Bloggers

Do you hang around churches + AA meetings

I'm not Stephen Peckham, for the 7th time....is Mav drinking or what?
Let's hear about "over the hill gang".
I'm interested.
Curious to this post. The gent I was working with left my office to head back to N.Y. He stopped in Westerly, RI for gas and was rear ended at the pump by an elderly lady. The car burst into flames and he was gone in an instant.
We finished the book under great duress.

I just went to one of the Cape

Here's some of their "comments":

“He said he did slap a window, but it didn't break, it cracked,” she said.
Hey Mey,,,, can I come by your house and slap some windows? I promise not to "break" them... only "crack" them.
Come on, Mav... be cranky for a good reason, man.
"As you can probily already tell i cant speak"
nor can you write, apparently.
In all seriousness the truth lies somewhere in between. Having a career in an honest trade IS valuable, and training kids for practical careers does seem reasonable, but not to the expense of basic skills like reading and writing.
If you are indeed a Cape Tech student be aware that you may have unwittingly supported the very prejudices you decry.
(in plain English, you need to learn basic spelling and grammar.)
I
I too am frustraited that people are makeing a bad name, and you can probily tell that you are olny a dillbeat.

This is a Facebook page titled
"Upper Cape Tech is a joke" or something like that.
On it you will find HUNDREDS of
ungrateful little nitpicking, hair-splitting
complaints and ATTACKS launched
by children. Yes, children.
In my life, I have met people who have
survived Auschwitz-style concentration camps and
I have PLENTY of Soviet friends who have
lost a significant portion of their
family to Josef Stalin's tyranny.
You kids HAVE NO IDEA HOW LUCKY you are
to even BE in that school,
regardless of how much it "sucks".
Despite the fact that an alarming
percentage of the names in that school
will eventually appear
in the "Court report" pages, no one in
their right mind is
condemning the entirety of it's students.
And I NEVER seen such blatant
disrespect directed toward teachers
until I read that page.
My son is 14 and I would tell him the same thing thing if I saw terrible English. I do so not to be mean, but to underscore one important point. You need those skills to feed yourself and survive in a very difficult world.
So pardon me if I'd like to empower you.
My goals are practical, not malicious.
Telling kids what they need to survive is caring, not "picking on" anyone.
I was on my own before the age of 17, so youthful struggles are at the forefront of my experience.
As far as "stature" I appreciate the thought.
:)
And didn't you tech-school kids learn anything from Christine? Buddy and Moochie sure did.
kids, losers, deadbeats, immature, a "financial drain, NO work ethic, an addiction to pot and percs
whining about being told what to do" and to those whom say that students at Cape Cod Tech
"can't handle regular classes" and "should be suspended or expelled". I want you all to know
that my fellow classmates and I happen to have scored higher on our MCAS exams than most of
state itself did, so if you beleive that we attend this school because we can not handle
regular classes you are mistaken. Cape Cod Tech, along with any other technical high school,
works twice as hard to earn there education than most if not all public high school students,
do. The amount of subjects and items that must be learned at any public high school takes
that school four years to learn, while at a technical high school we can learn the same
amount of information in two years while learning a trade.
those whom graduate from a technical high school will get a job before many public
high school graduates do because we will already have the training and certification
neccessary for the job, we can learn quickly, and because we will have the ability to adapt
to new surroundings and work just as well if not better.
attended that "school", and that we are full of students who have "an addiction to pot and
percs", you are terribly mistaken. The school has the same amount of a "criminal element"
and students who smoke or do any other drugs, as any other school in this state, there is
absolutely no exeption for Cape Cod Tech. You are making it seem as if on the application
to be accepted to the school we are asking if the applicants take any drugs, smoke weed,
or if they are criminals, and the school only accepts those who check yes in all elements.
So do not try twist the way reality is, it is the same exact way in every school in the
united states.
school is doing wrongfully is "tough shit if they don't like the way things are going.
You are in high school so suck it up", you need to go back to school and learn how this
amazing country was made. It was made by those who were willing to stand up and make a
change. We did just "suck it up" for years, but this year the administration had taken
things too far and we were finally ready to do something about it by standing up for our
rights. There is no reason why students should be locked up in a lunch room for 30 minutes,
called profound names, or have our rights to privacy and a voice taken away and that is
only the begining. You may not believe that any of the things that happend or that you read
about on the 'Cape Cod Tech is a Joke' facebook group actually occured, but they in all
seriousness did.
have learned about methods that have been used in the past to open the eyes of America's leaders, so we have been one of the few groups of Americans whom still care about our rights,
dont take them for granted, and actually excersise the rights we fought so hard for. A few
students decided to organize a peaceful sit-in after three months of no change or word that
there was actually going to be a change after voiceing our opinions to the administration.
You may say that this was a childish idea to do, but it was not. Yes, things did get out of
hand but that was only with at the most ten students, the rest of the student body had
remaind peaceful even when they tried to use there voice and were shut down by the administration.
them, and the fact that the administration always says "You are what you give" and to "own
your words", but they can not even live up to there own words and practice what they preach,
is one thing that set the student body to come and support the sit-in. You can not be a role
model for a high school if you are a hypocrite.
mostly taught those who were unteachable. I might be able to agree with you all, but this
school is full of hard working students who want to go to college, who want to continue there
education in the feild of there choice, who want to make the school a peaceful and happy place
to attend. People always say that it is the students who make the school yet there have been
very few cases where this actually has happend, so don't tell us that we are wrong for actually
wanting to have a say in the way our school is run, expecially when it is being run by people
who only care about themselves and not about the education of the students.
There is definite honor im mechanical endeavors.

Nice typing speed, BTW.
I have even begun reading your posts
but I agree 110% that Cape Tech has
a VERY SERIOUS problem with
their administrative procedure
regarding the "groping" issue alone.
I think we'll see results from this one.
I'll be damnded surprised if we don't.

If the "point" of your posting here tonight
is to embrace the concept of arguing, insulting, ect.
You'll probably get similar replies,
though generally not from me.
Good Luck!
Hang on, don't go away...
As for the sit-in... good job. I was joking earlier when I suggested attacking the teachers. The kid who smashed the window got just what he deserved, however. His head would have went through the window after, had he tried that at some of the schools I taught at in Boston.
As for backpacks, I'm with the kids 100%. Schools are big, crowded places, and it's tough to get to your locker between periods. Bunches of textbooks are heavy, and I've seen a 100 pound girl walking around with 60 pounds of books.
You can't carry them in your arms, either... you need those arms to defend yourself.
Boys are also less chivalrous these days. I might have carried my own books to class like 5 times in high school, but I was kinda hot then.
Also... lugging around a backpack will get you ready for Afghanistan. Those guns and radios don't walk up into the mountains by themselves, you know.
The simple solution is backpacks.
"A few
students decided to organize a peaceful sit-in after three months of no change or word that
there was actually going to be a change after voiceing our opinions to the administration."
Did it ever occur to you kids that
while you are attending the school you
are subject to the rules + reg's of it?
Was this "sit-in" held AFTER class hours?
Do MINORS have precisely the same rights
that adults have?
Did your sarcastic, disrespectful "Leader" Ashley Costa take
all these things into consideration?
My three survived fine..
Ignore the morons, the idiot teachers, and get what you can from education with the very few decent educators left, and move on.
Education is so entrenched by government regs and rules, dictation by the MTA and NEA ,MCAS, etc..
Most great teachers have left the profession, and the majority left in state sponsored schools, are shills for their union(s).
possee
"If that Dean tried to tell my child to eat a cheese sandwich and locked my child in the lunch room I'd walk in that school and drop kick the bitch and smash the sandwich in her ignorant face."
You can get some GREAT jewelry with that move, actually.
They give you these really rad bracelets,
but they're hard to eat with
cause they keep your hands restrained behind your back.
The police like them so much,
they let everyone try a pair on!
It did occur to us though that we do attend school, and that we did get permission
from the school administration to hold the sit-in.
And minors may not have all the rights as adults, but we do have very simular rights
excluding the right to vote.
Ashley Costa is not sarcastic or disrespectful, and if you think she is let me know
how exactly? Her and I have been best friends for the longest time. However she was
being a leader along with a few fellow class mates.
And the sarcastic remark that you made towards Ravenhair was very unnecissary, most
parents feel the same way.
Monponsett, thank you for agreeing with the sit-in, I know Ashley is happy to know that
some of the pubic agrees upon it.
Ravenhair- That is exactly how any parent would react, which is why we got some parental
support with the sit-in. Thank you for feeling the same way, a few people say that they
wouldnt do anything if there children were in that situation, and I think there crazy.
Raven publicy advocates vigilante-style violence in the school,
yet you fault me for being "sarcastic"?
Your friend Ashley blantantly, and publicly disrespect a former teacher
on the Facebook page more than once.
Burt Fischer, actually.
This is the real test of a person, student, and especially a "Leader"
because when they jump on the excuse of
"oh HE's not MY teacher anymore" it
reveals what's really taking place in their mind.
"Burt Fischer is dead to us"
"Stop being a rude ex-teacher"
Are a few of her exemplary quotes.
Look it up yourself.
Mr Fischer was on the page to try to
help you guys, and A LOT of you
treated him like dirt.
Especially that little wiseguy-- Sims?
Ashley treated Mr. Fischer like he was a big headache.
That's what sends the strongest message to me-
How do they treat the FORMER tutor?
Ashley Costa has some lessons to learn there.
numerious times, but he clearly wasnt trying to help to much if practically everything
he had to say was rude and negitive before Ash even got involved. Burt was never exactly
my teacher nor Ashey's but he was well known around the school as the "biggest ass hole"
a teacher could possibly be. When he left IT my friends were actually happy to go to
school agiain. Burt was a huge headache, and I'm glad that I NEVER had him as a teacher.
What exactly are you concluding is taking place in my mind for the comments I have
left on here and on that page? What is taking place in Ashley's? please tell me.
And Mike, is one of the realest persons at Tech he doesnt pretend to be fake and suck
up to a person for any reason what so ever, and that is the way some people are meant
to be.
What lesson does Ashley need to learn?
Once you tell me a few valid lesson this lovely young lady whom has gone to a
leadership camp for the past 5 years, who has done over 60 hours of voluntary community
service each year for the past 5 years, this young lady who helps take a stand for things,
this National Technical Honor Society Member, this Cheerleading captain for 2 years,
this role model to her two younger siblings, this young lady whom is always quite in
class taking her notes paying attention and listening to the students concerns from afar,
I will personally give her a call and read her what you beleive a real leader is,
and let her know what lessons she needs to learn.
Ashley is an example of this, she helped organize the sit in that way
those whom had wanted to voice there concerns could, because Ash
doesnt have that many actual issues.
Please stop posting on this site and grow up a bit. Skipping class is no way to solve problems. Problems are solved with mature discussions between two parties.
"Marge, clearly you do not know who Burt is. "
Are you SURE ABOUT THAT, Briley?
I can say with all certainty that I
have known Burt Fischer well before you
were born.
He was an engineer at WHDH in Boston once.
Did you know that, Briley?
Here's another thing
Ashley said to Mr.Fischer:
"If it was'nt for us
kids being here, you would'nt
have had a job!"
So the Tutor is indebted to the Disciple?
If you think that just because
someone's 17, made the Nat'l Honor Society,
and all those other acheivements means that
she is infallible,
then you've got things to
learn too.
I am not disrespecting her or you.
I am saying she's not incapable
of making mistakes.
You wrote:
"I will personally give her a call and read her what you beleive a real leader is,
and let her know what lessons she needs to learn."
Don't involve me. Please.
You ask a question, I give an answer. That's it.
And i'm done discussing Ashley.
Briley10, if you've given full respect to your teachers then they are showing respect back to you. If you really have shown them respect, judging by your posts I doubt it, then you should have nothing to complain about. If you're still protesting you're just a follower and you're going to get no where in life.
NOOOO!!!!!!
Point proven. Few most respectful students.
Meaning the rest of your class isn't respectful?
RESPECT IS EARNED NOT GIVEN.
Stop protesting, go back to class, and tell your peers to LEARN SOME FUCKING RESPECT! Then maybe they will get the god damn respect they carve so badly!
"Marge, you still did not answer my question though pertaining to what goes on in her head after reading such comments?"
I already told you I was finished
discussing Ashley, but I'll make an exception.
What comments are you reffering to?
Mine? Or everyone's?
me saying that I will one day be a
instructor for carpentry one day?
I am not saying that my class isnt repectful
but I am one of the few who doesnt disrespect
ever. I did tell people to go back to class
once they started to take it out of control,
The students were heard, and i left.
i went home with my mother whom was waiting
outside of the school during the whole thing
incase things did get out of hand, herself and
another mother wanted to come and help keep things
under control but were denyed access to the school
along with the news and others. Many of
my peers do give alot of respect also but the school
does not give any back.
And it isnt disturbing the peace when
you are given permission to have the sit-in.
Tech Student- if you are a senior then
you should know exactly whom i am.
and i am sorry that we cant see eye to
eye with all of this
"i was saying thank you to everyones, including yours.
and if you wont talk about ash any more then
what do you think was going through my head?"
I'm more concerned with answering a
question that's put to me.
I consider someone's thoughts to the
degree that it applies to the question.
I HOPE I have'nt hurt your feelings
--or anyone's-- but if I give you a
nice, easy, cushiony-soft answer I'll
be doing the worst thing because then
you'll go out into the real world
unprepared.
I am generally direct and unpretentious.
If you can accept this from people
the real challenges in life
(you will have them, believe me)
will be much easier.
better than me, considering your
thoughts are the pointed issue here.
What was going through your head?
Most likely a need to fit in and follow what the rest were doing. Typical teenage angst.
Best if you never come back, no offense
You ARE Ashley.
Or your "pretending" to be her-- I don't know
who i'm talking to on this damn thing.
So that's it?
You drop an (alleged) bombshell like that on me and just go to bed?
If Ashley's such an acheiver
she must have waaay better grammar than you do.
Who you are is somewhat less than important.
What is important is this:
Have I answered your question?
And as to orgaanizing a student senate, we do have class presidents and vice presidents and such, but nothing ever gets done in them like i have previously stated. A meeting once a month during activity period is not sufficient enough for anything to be done.
Besides lack of "respect"
I think you'd have better grammar.
Don't take it personally,
it's just that i've been around
internet forums too long
and I am accustomed to "tricks".
If you really are her, be advised that
deception via false moniker damages your credibilty.
If you ARE NOT her (I think/hope this is the case)
It's not a wise idea to say you are as
you or your parents are legally LIABLE.
Its a little tough
To read when your
thoughts are
Spliced into pieces
"are you mad that i dont capitalize my letters and i misspelled a few? Damn i am oh so sorry."
If you want to part with a
little sarcasm, please stick
your head in your a$$ and
keep it there.
Have a Nice Night!
And I think you're lying.
No one with any scholastic
"acheivement" would type
like a 12yr old.
Ashley, go to sleep
margebunny21, your grammar is great and all but why do you feel the need to press the return key after every half thought?
Its a little tough

I actually thought it made things easier
to type like this. At least a little easier.
briley wrote:

Am I detecting SARCASM here or what?
It's hard to read people through text.
Your being honest.
"are you mad that i dont capitalize my letters and i misspelled a few?"
It's the sarcasm after texting you for
an hour that I don't like. The spelling
is a little disappointing but certainly
nothing not something to make me mad.
Of course, you admitted that
and I actually respect you for it.
Let's see how long THAT lasts...
I have also come to the conclusion that there's
no point in assuming you are
someone when i'm not sure.
Will you please make a post on
Facebook with these words:
"I am briley on CCtoday forums."
Will you do that?
Facebook--
No, sorry honey. My Facebook acct has my legal name
attached to it and i've been strongly
advised not to give it out.
But now i'm 100% convince who you are
so I can take you more seriously. See?
By the way- I call everyone honey when they cooperate with common sense,
like proving who you are.
It makes a difference...
Chatham and Harwich are poisedto spend millions on a new regional high school. Perhaps before they do that, the towns should explore a purchase of the Cape Tech property from the member towns and locate the new regional high school in the Cape Tech building.
From what I have read here and in other venues, Cape Tech is at best a school spinning out of control. At worst it is an egregious waste of the taxpayers' money.
Let's close down Cape Tech and sell the property to Chatham and Harwich for their new school.
Cape Cod Today - Could someone there please post information on the process for dissolving the tech district and what voters need to know to start the process?
"Don't lecture me about getting arrested for defending my child"
This is all I posted regarding your
barbaric endorsement of physical violence
directed at school administrative staff:
"You can get some GREAT jewelry with that move, actually.
They give you these really rad bracelets,

Imprisonment and detention are two different things.
You should think about that.
And what did they lose?...20min?
Judging by the reputation of
that school, I'd say some of
them are in for harder time
than 20min in the future.
I normally try to console

your reply pretty much
invalidated THAT...
