Eastham Hostel in World's Top 10

Nantucket and Eastham Listed Among Top 10 HI-USA Hostels in the World
Eastham #6, Nantucket #8, New Hyannis hostel to open this summer

The charming Eastham hostel is surrounded by three acres of woodland.

The Nantucket hostel is an 1873 Lifesaving Station which is in the National Register of Historic Place.

Hostelling International-USA (HI-USA) announced today that its hostels in Nantucket and Eastham have been rated among 2009's Top 10 hostels in the world by guests. They are both part of the local hostel district, HI New England.

"Offering travelers a hostel stay tailored to their needs and exceeding their expectations has always been our primary goal," says Deborah Ruhe, Executive Director of Hostelling International USA, Eastern New England Council. "Being ranked among the top hostels in the world suggests a job well done."

Ratings were collected throughout 2009 by guests who stayed at Hostelling International facilities around the globe. Customer service, staff courtesy and features offered by the hostel and the surrounding region were among the categories rated by survey participants. The Eastham Hostel was rated number six and the Nantucket Hostel appeared at number eight. The top-ranked HI-USA hostel in the world is in Bangkok, Thailand.

HI-USA manages hostels in Eastham and Truro on the Cape, and in Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. A new hostel will open in Hyannis in summer 2010. HI-USA hostels continually outrank their competitors because of their ideal locations and great value. For the $30 average price stay, guests receive free breakfast, Wi-Fi, lockers, itinerary planning, walking tours and passes to nightlife venues. The friendliness of the staff and high standards of cleanliness also distinguish HI-USA hostels within the market.

Eastham chosen "Most Efficient" earlier.

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1934, Hostelling International USA, Eastern New England Council (ENEC) is dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding, environmental stewardship and world peace through travel. HI-ENEC manages 6 hostels in Boston, Cape Cod and the Islands and is part of a network of nearly 60 hostels in the United States and 4,000 hostels spanning 60 countries.

I'm sure glad the neighbors of the Eastham hostel did not succeed in their attempt to shut it down.

I keep thinking it's 'brothel' not 'hostel'. ~What?~ Too many years in the men's-mag biz I guess.

"Being ranked among the top brothels in the world suggests a job well done." Rank has its privileges! ~What?~ Just trying to lighten up the 'androgenic' locker-room pong in here...
