Malone Excels in Debate and Picks Up Key Endorsements

PEMBROKE - Coming off of a great primary debate in Plymouth last night, 10th District Congressional candidate Joe Malone continues the momentum, announcing three major endorsements of his campaign.

The legendary Polly Logan, a former National and State Republican Committee member from Cohasset has jumped on board Joe’s team. “Joe has a strong record as one of this state’s most consistent and passionate conservatives. Joe has not just talked about Republican principles, but he has delivered on them,” said Logan. “Joe has an unmatched record of reforming government and standing up against big government. And is exactly what we need for our candidate in November and our Congressman in Washington. I look forward to being part of this energized campaign.”

Another well known figure has also enthusiastically endorsed Joe, Falmouth’s own Tommy Leonard who is the founder of the Falmouth Road Race. “I’m proud to support Joe Malone for Congress. Joe is one of us and I know he will go to Washington and fight for working men and women. People respond to Joe because they know he will be a strong leader for us in Washington. Joe recognizes that it’s time for less government, lower taxes and more freedom.”

Former Republican State Representative Nancy “Hasty” Evans, who lives in Falmouth, noted Joe’s energy in announcing her support. “I am impressed with Joe’s hard work, and his ability to excite the people he meets. He has an unmatched energy and has been all over the Cape asking for our support and I believe he has earned it based on his record of reforming government and fighting for the taxpayers. I know he will work just as hard in Congress as he has on everything he has done—we need some of the energy for the people down in DC.”

These three add to a long and growing list of supporters for Joe, and come as his campaign surges following last night’s primary debate hosted by the Plymouth League of Women Voters.

The debate can be heard on WATD’s website, or by clicking this link: http://www.959watd.com/2010Audio/0726/forum0726.mp3

Malone is definitely the cream of the GOP crop. He's a solid conservative but he's still got a heart.

In the GOP debate, examples of a candidate balancing both sides of an issue, actually thinking, and showing himself to be something other than a full time GOP attack dog were few and far between. They all came from Malone.

At one point, he reserved judgement on Elana Kagan saying that he wouldn't want Democrats to dismiss a GOP nominee out of hand. Wow! Something other than pure anger from the GOP. Impressive.

In another instance he came dangerously close to committing GOP heresy on immigration when he said that a guest worker program is needed. Nothing but sputtering rage is normally accepted from GOP candidates on immigration.

Malone is a serious conservative but he hasn't taken that philosophy and rage over losing the White House and Congress to the point of obsession as has his main competitor: Perry.

Because he's got a heart and a brain, he's the cream of the GOP crop.

Joe, I remember Polly Logan when she was working against Ronald Reagan in 1976, against Avi Nelson in 1978 and against Ronald Reagan in 1980. Just like you I guess, so perhaps undermining conservatives during a primary is a good track record. As for me, I am supporting the Reagan Republican in this race, Jeff Perry.

jnwarren,

Yup, Perry is a Reagan Repubican - right down to his belief in Supply Side Economics. You remember that, right? Cut taxes to cut the deficit?

How did that work for Ronnie? For that matter, how did it work for Bush?

But after all that, Perry still believes in it.

You bet, it worked fine. Read some Thomas Sowell, it may help with your understanding. They need to work on the spending side but yes, rewarding the productive class is always a good thing.

I'm glad by they way, you agree Perry is a Reagan Republican. Nobody is going to accuse Joe of anything like being a Reagan supporter.

I think in the running a Reagan Republican like Jeff Perry, against which ever Barney Frank liberal (Keating or O'Leary) is nominated by the democrat party will certainly present the voters with a clear choice in November.
