State Fire Marshal, Dennis police and fire all agree it was arson
WEST DENNIS - The State Fire Marshal and the Dennis Police and Fire Departments have ruled a structure fire last Thursday, February 2, as arson. The fire, according to Police Captain William Monahan, destroyed a free-standing garage on the property of 16 Aunt Julia Ann's Road around 9 p.m. Damage to the garage and the contents inside is estimated at $100,000.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact Detective Christine Hornby at 774-352-1517 or chornby@town.dennis.us. Information may also be called into the Dennis Police Department tip line at 774-352-1500.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to the prosecution of the responsible party or parties. The reward is being offered through the Arson Watch Reward Program, according to police. Call the Arson Hotline toll-free at 800-682-9229.
Mashpee single-car rollover sends one to Falmouth Hospital
Injuries reportedly not serious

MASHPEE - One person was transported to Falmouth Hospital Wednesday after a single-vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of Jobs Fishing Road and Route 28 in Mashpee. The rollover occurred around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
According to emergency broadcasts, one person was taken to Falmouth Hospital with an arm fracture.
Mashpee police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Barnstable Police arrest Kevin McNicol, 23, of Hyannis
Nine month long investigation ends with arraignment today
BARNSTABLE - Nearly nine months ago the Massachusetts Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) received a National Center for Missing Exploited Children CyberTipline report which reported the upload of a child pornography to an internet website.

Watch the BFD Facebook video of this report here.After an extensive investigation by ICAC members from the Massachusetts State Police, the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, and the Barnstable Police Department; a laptop computer belonging to Kevin McNicol of Hyannis, was seized.
A forensic examination of that computer revealed several videos and images of young females being posed in states of nudity and engaged in sexual acts. These videos appeared to have been created during webcam chats McNicol was having with the young females. An attempt to identify the victims has recently produced a named victim that was able to be interviewed regarding this case.
During the victim’s interview she told investigators that 2 months after McNicol's computer had been seized in the search warrant, he had contacted her online and continued his efforts to entice her to take more pictures of herself to send to him.
Taken into custody in Weymouth yesterday, arraigned in Barnstable today
As a result of the investigation and arrest warrant was issued for McNicol and he was taken into custody in North Weymouth on February 6. McNicol was taken into custody without incident and was held at the Barnstable Police Headquarters until arraignment this morning. McNicol was arraigned on charges of posing a child nude and engaged in sexual activity, possession of child pornography, disseminating obscene matter to minors, and videotaping a nude person without their knowledge.
The Barnstable District Court placed a $5,000 bail on McNicol, with several restrictions if bail is made.

BARNSTABLE - Two people were injured in a two vehicle car accident at the intersection of Phinneys Lane and Attucks Lane in Barnstable Tuesday (02-07-12) morning around 11:00 AM.
The victims’ injuries reportedly suffered minor injuries. A mutual aid ambulance from Hyannis was requested to the scene for the second victim. Two other people on the scene refused medical treatment. Barnstable Police are investigating the accident.

Arson team called in to investigate
BOURNE - Bourne firefighters battle a car fire adjacent to the Atlantic Auto Wash on MacArthur Boulevard in Bourne Tuesday (02-07-12) morning around 8:45 AM.
The vehicle, which caught fire within feet of the car wash, was quickly knocked down by firefighters, and there was no visible damage to the car wash.
An arson investigator from the Bourne Fire Department was requested to the scene, and the cause of the fire is still unclear at this time. There were no reported injuries.

Yarmouth police investigate three daytime break-ins

YARMOUTH - Yarmouth police are investigating three different break-ins that occurred on Friday sometime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. According to a Yarmouth police release, calls from the three residents came into the department Friday evening, suggesting all of the crimes had happened during the day while the homes were empty.
In one instance, the perpetrator entered the home through an open door. Doors were kicked in at the other two homes. In all three cases, jewelry was taken, the value of which was not disclosed.
The homes were located in three different neighborhoods: Fontneau Road and River Street both in the Bass River section of town and Blue Rock Road in South Yarmouth, according to police.
Police have not indicated whether or not the thefts are connected.
All residents are reminded to keep their doors and windows locked and to remove all hidden keys on property. Neighbors are asked to remain vigilant and report any and all suspicious activity to the police by calling 911--during the day or night.

Gang member's girlfriend busted in Falmouth, drugs seized
Three-month-old baby was in car during drug bust Friday
NORTH FALMOUTH - A five-month investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics resulted in the arrest of two and the seizure of a bounty of illegal drugs all packaged for individual sale. According to a Falmouth police release, members of the Falmouth, Mashpee and Bourne Police Departments conducted a motor vehicle stop on Friday just after 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Falmouth Highway and Nathan Ellis Highway.

Niko Kersey was arrested for outstanding warrants and for receiving stolen propertySurveillance related to the investigation led to the vehicle stop in which two people, Jessica Walton, 22, of Fall River, and Niko Kersey, 23, of Falmouth, were arrested for outstanding warrants, Walton for conspiracy to violate drug law and Kersey for receiving stolen property over $250.
Walton, according to police, is the girlfriend of a known illegal narcotics distributor and gang member, Kersey, a former customer.
During the vehicle stop,officers searched Walton's car and Walton and Kersey and discovered a large quantity of illegal substances: 49 Percocet pills, 30 bags of crack cocaine, 14 bags of powder cocaine (26.6 grams), 10 bags of marijuana (11.8 grams), 19 Suboxone pills and 43 bags of heroin (13 grams). In addition to the drugs, Walton's 2001 BMW sedan and $640 in cash were seized.
According to police, Walton's three-month-old baby was in the car at the time of the stop and was transferred to the custody of Walton's mother.
Jessica Walton was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug (heroin), possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug (Suboxone), possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (Percocet) and possession with intent to distribute a Class D drug (marijuana). Niko Kersey was charged with conspiracy to violate drug law.
Both will be arraigned in Falmouth District Court.
In March, 2010, Kersey was in court for possessing opium/Percocet with intent to distribute.

Crystal Marie Santos. YPD booking photo.WEST YARMOUTH - A 20-year-old West Yarmouth woman was arrested and arraigned in Barnstable Friday after an early morning visit from Yarmouth police. According to a Yarmouth police release, Yarmouth officers and members of the Cape Cod Drug Task Force conducting a 6:15 a.m. raid at the home of Crystal Marie Santos of 45 Higgins Crowell Road.
Police were armed with a search warrant for illegal narcotics. At the Higgins Crowell Road home, officers seized an undisclosed amount of Klonopin.
Santos was arrested and charged with felony possession of a Class C drug (Klonopin). She was arraigned the same day in Barnstable District Court.
When administered legally, Klonopin is used to treat anxiety and seizures.

Thee men crash their car fleeing the scene of the attack, police searching woods
BOURNE - One person was stabbed in a reported home invasion at a residence on Shore Road in Bourne late Tuesday night.
Boston TV is reporting that three men assaulted a person at the home, then crashed their vehicle while fleeing the scene.
State and local police searched for the suspects for several hours. The suspects were reportedly wielding bats and possibly a gun. A State Police helicopter was requested but was unavailable due to weather.

Yarmouth police arrest man after violent attack, seize loaded .357 Magnum

Michael A. Randall. YPD booking photo.YARMOUTH PORT - A Fresh Holes man faces a long list of charges after being arrested at his girlfriend's home in Yarmouth Port last Friday. According to a Yarmouth police release, officers responded to a domestic violence call at 145 Union Street Friday evening around 8 p.m.
At the home, the victim told officers her boyfriend, 21-year-old Michael A. Randall of 42 Fresh Holes Road in Hyannis, had attacked her and may still be armed with a loaded gun.
Officers arrested Randall at the woman's home. According to police, they also found the gun--a loaded and unsecured .357 Magnum handgun. The serial number on the firearm had been defaced.
Randall was placed under arrest and transported to the Yarmouth Police Station where he was processed and charged with the following:
- Assault and battery
- Improper storage of a firearm
- Felony unlawful possession of a firearm
- Unlawful possession of ammunition
- Felony assault to murder
- Felony assault and battery while armed with a dangerous weapon
- Felony possession of stolen property
- Possession of a defaced firearm
- Felony breaking and entering in the nighttime
- Destruction of property
Michael A. Randall was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
The investigation into the stolen Magnum continues.
