First on Cape Wide News: Tip leads BPD to stash of stolen TVs, other property

HYANNIS - Saturday afternoon several detectives from Barnstable Police responded to a tip that there were stolen electronic equipment and other items here at this unassuming looking, reportedly vacant house at 990 West Main Street in Hyannis. Police obtained a search warrant and discovered six flat screen HDTVs, three top-of-the-line Bose CD players, speakers and a bag of coins, CDs and various other items. The merchandise was seized and taken to  the Barnstable Police Facility where only Cape Wide News cameras caught the scene. Barnstable Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney tells CWN three people police had been watching, apparently coming and going from several locations including a house break scene on Breakwater Shores Drive in in Hyannis and the West Main Street house, were arrested. 19-year-old Jeremy Robinson of Hyannis, 21-year-old Steven Marshall Jr. of Centerville and 20-year-old Jason Tobin of Hyannis are expected to be arraigned on charges of receiving stolen property. Marshall and Robinson actually held up in the attic of the home until Robinson's father convinced them to come out. Story and photos by Frank Paparo.

Car vs pole in Provincetown sends driver to CCH

PROVINCETOWN - A man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after his car struck a utility pole in Provincetown early Saturday morning. Units responding to the intersection of Bradford Street Extension and Provincelands Road in the far west end of town found a Mercedes station wagon heavily damaged. The driver Dean Macarra of Provincetown was not with the car but was found nearby a short time later. Provincetown Police are investigating the crash. They summonsed Macara for operating under the influence of alcohol (3rd offense) operating after suspension, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to slow at an intersection and speeding. A section of Bradford Street Extension was expected to remain closed through the morning while NStar replaces the pole which was broken but did not come down. Two caught red-handed during Chatham house break
CHATHAM - On Friday evening about 7:40 p.m. a resident contacted the Chatham Police Department, reporting a housebreak in progress.  Officers responded to a residence on Deering Drive and located two females.  The investigation led to the arrest of 17-year-old Allison N. Ayala, age 17, of Chatham (pictured) on charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime to commit a felony, larceny from a building and malicious destruction of property over $250. A 16-year-old juvenile female was also arrested. Her identity was not released because of her age. The juvenile was charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime. The Chatham Police Department and the Barnstable County Sheriffs Department are investigating and believe the girls were using the house for a party. Mugshot furnished by Chatham PD.
