Thanks Ned, I was wondering that myself. Everytime I hear MacCain or Palin say McCain knows how to win a war, I want to ask not only which one, but how does he know?
No disrespect, but he sat the one he was in out, disregarding the fact that we lost that one. He has never been in charge of an army, or a war office, not even a congressional committee with oversight of a war.
And as far at the Iraq War goes, what does it mean to win? There is no winning this war. Better stick to winning the war on terror.

LOL...Neddy, so right, but you probably have some scratching their heads at this one.

Maybe they are referring to the war he thinks he can win. Someone get the bottle of geritol and show the man the door. How did the Republican Party ever settle for McCain. How embarrassing for them, who fortunate for us!

SM: Don't think McCain knows how to fight the war on terror. He still thinks Saddam is hiding weapons of mass destruction.

I TOTALLY agree with Sarah Palin--McCain does know how to win. How may of you have sat in a cell for years on end and lived to tell about it? How many of you have been in any war at all? I Look at John McCain as the only winner that is running for President. He did not betray his country, he had the opportunity to be sent home and didn't, and when he did finally make it home, he proceeded to fight for the rights of our country by being a public servant.

"McCain spent his boyhood in exclusive boarding schools where staffers were paid to put up with his tirades. We all did some immature things before we matured. But with McCain, the tirades continue today.

Had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, there is scant chance he would have been admitted to the U.S. Naval Academy. Given his behavior patterns and academics, had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, there is little doubt he would have been thrown out. Instead, in 1958 he managed to graduate 894 out of 899. Had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, he is no chance he would have been accepted into the prestigious naval flight training program over far better qualified officers. On his way to becoming a North Vietnamese ace, the aviator lost 3 expensive aircraft on routine, non-combat flights. Little was made of all that, because he was, you know, the son and grandson of admirals..."

Ned [Member] writes:
"...McCain’s most horrendous loss occurred in 1967 on the USS Forrestal. Well, not horrendous for him. The starter motor switch on the A4E Skyhawk allowed fuel to pool in the engine. When the aircraft was “wet-started,” an impressive flame would shoot from the tail. It was one of the ways young hot-shots got their jollies. Investigators and survivors took the position that McCain deliberately wet-started to harass the F4 pilot directly behind him. The cook off launched an M34 Zuni rocket that tore through the Skyhawk’s fuel tank, released a thousand pound bomb, and ignited a fire that killed the pilot plus 167 men. Before the tally of dead and dying was complete, the son and grandson of admirals had been transferred to the USS Oriskany..."

"As a rising naval officer, McCain was surrounded by rumors of numerous adulterous affairs, such as used to be called “conduct unbecoming an officer.” Author and biographer Robert Timberg has detailed several of McCain’s sexual relationships with subordinates when serving as a Squadron Leader and an Executive Officer. I think we all know such behavior is a clear violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, in other words, a crime.

When McCain’s application to the National War College was rejected, according to noted author and researcher Joel Skousen, he whined to daddy who pulled strings with the Secretary of the Navy.

PRISONER OR HONORED GUEST?

McCain’s 5½-year stay at the Hanoi Hilton (officially Hoa Loa Prison) has ever since been the subject of great controversy. He maintains that he was tortured and otherwise badly mistreated. One of many who disagree is Dennis Johnson, imprisoned at Hanoi and never given treatment for his broken leg..." http://www.wclt.com/news/articledetail.cfm?articleid=23261 Wow it just gets better... check it out, gang...

Are you upset that McCain had more affairs than Clinton? Not according to the Arkansas police.

Any chance we could start this process all over again or do we have to wait another 4 years?

big commissions, deceiving unsuspecting homeowners who were told: "Greenspan is going to keep this going at 5%, don't worry, you can always get 8% fixed if you want to" brokers, construction, developers, town officials, ins. co's. all bleeding us dry while we improved our homes on the absurd notion (realized only now) that our overly inflated houses were being used for profits that were imaginary, ENRON?. But they try to blame this ALL on the homeowner who should have had a masters in economics & law degree from Harvard so they could beat them at their own game. Now, the banks take the properties back, sell them to other banks who sell them for pennies on the dollar to the rich who didn't get into this 6-8 yrs. ago, they waited until we put all the money into our homes & now they want them. Work is all done, here ya go, a$$oles! The banks don't want to have to give back what they stole or rewrite loans. Now you have the second wave of freeloaders lining up. They had it all figured out. They knew homeowners would not speak out about their own poor judgment in taking bogus loans.

GM CEO's gave back 2 private jets? Big Whoop. The workers were interviewed, said they wanted to speak to congress, were not allowed, but the three CEO's took 3 private jets costing 20k and were unprepared as to a plan, just wanted handouts like the others got? While the rest of us struggle in our own hell, whether it be loss of job, loss of retirement income, kids can't go to college, retail is closing its doors, more jobs lost, people continue to lose their homes from the loan sharks...I know there's more, what did I miss? And they say gas prices are at a record low, what use to be $4.11 gal. is now $1.99 but people aren't buying gas as they once were, or shopping. Boycott! That's the idea. They will have to cave in sometime! It's 32 degrees and I still drive next to convoys of bicycles and scooters...LOL! That's the spirit, what's next? Cross-country skiing along the roadways? Break out the dog sleds! That will be our next form of transportation. I heard Obama is picking Summers from Harvard to take Bernake's place. Maybe Larry can help Harvard get it's 11bil.back.

GM, Ford & Chrysler's CEO's...what have they got to be sad about? Can someone explain to me how it is that a company like Toyota can out produce and out sell the American car industry? Some in the unions are making $90hr. and stay home? Then the CEO's collect massive paychecks? "At Chrysler, CEO Robert Nardelli has been on the scene just a year. Before that he was at Home Depot, where he took a $210 million departure package when the board wanted him out. There's no reason to begrudge Mr. Nardelli that money. But any plan to save Chrysler will inflict great hardship on dealers, suppliers, workers and managers -- and even if Mr. Nardelli is a great executive talent, he isn't the guy to lead the clarion call for sacrifice, despite his recent offer to work for $1 a year". $210 MILLION from HOME DEPOT? This is insanity. No wonder our country is in the toilet. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122722835387246299.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Has everyone gone to bed? Wow, you guys are such light weights...latest news said CEO's must take jets for safety reasons...now I've heard everything.

“I don’t believe we have the luxury of a lot of time,” GM CEO Rick Wagoner told a House hearing. (how about an over the top LUXURY LIFESTYLE!) Michael Capuano (D-MA) put it best: “My fear is that you’re going to take this money and continue the same stupid decisions you’ve made for 25 years.”..LOL! LOVE IT! That’s exactly what they want to do — and the bailout would enable them to avoid making other tough choices.. makes this even more ridiculous is that Congress has already voted to provide Detroit with $25 billion in loans. (Here come the veiled threats of sky is falling): In an increasingly anxious campaign for a $25 bil.govt. rescue, Detroit’s Big Three car makers, their allies in Washington are warning the demise of the auto industry will damage U.S. national security. That argument is a hard sell. General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC long ago exited the defense business. read the rest here--http://hotair.com/archives/2008/11/20/auto-bailout-on-life-support/

The more I read about these clowns that have been running so called "business", the more I realize what is so very wrong about this country we live in. When does the greed stop? How much is enough? It's no surprise the housing market is where it is today. Look at their mentors. They have destroyed what WE work hard to maintain and who pays? We do. Where is the outrage and public outcry? Why are we continually led like a bunch of mindless sheep led to the slaughter house? I really hope that Congress does not back down. The US car industry does NOT deserve to be bailed out. We have had alternatives to gas in place for years with no action. Why do you suppose that is? Others are ahead, while we continue to rely on oil. I use to by GM and Chevy trucks, transmissions always went bad. They are not built to last, but to break so you keep going back. I will always buy foreign because of fuel, reliability and value. How long does your Toyota last? Those who own one know you can beat them into the ground and they still come back. Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Volvo, Saab, all outperform US vehicles.
