With Republicans in decline and Democrats firmly Neocon, there's no Alternative here either... All Hail Oceania!  Gotta love Big Brother Rupert....  where's my Victory Chocolate bar?  Gotta get the taste of Freedom out of my mouth...

who grew up in the Soviet Union of Austrian Byelorussian and Siberian-Ulchi(they invented the word Shaman y'know) ancestry... I was grousing about my neck being stiff from cranking out Boopsketches all Labor Day weekend trying to find the right focus for the lastest batch of Betty Boop Minnesota lottery tickets, and she started asking me what 'King Features' was...  I started by explaining that my Art Director is Frank Caruso...
    She recognized Frank's name immediately     She used to work for BRIDAL GUIDE.  Which was in the same suite of offices, at one time, as CRACKED.  Frank was a cartoonist for the Mort Todd-era CRACKED...     She was trying also to remember the name of the 'tall handsome editor'... guess she was husbandhunting in those days which makes sense, but she'd never even mentioned working in NYC in the whole last year she'd been my instructor!!!.       I was able to relay this back to Frank who's getting a little impatient with my over-thinking the Lottery Tickets and trying to make 'em look like 50s Dell/Harvey funny-animal-comicbook sight-gag covers... but if I'm creating Hoodoo Luck Objects I feel they've got to give back some energy even if in 99% of the case they don't pay off... Hoodoo Karma, y'know...   If they don't win at least the poor saps will possess a Pop Culture 'Ephemera'/Collectible.

Peril in the Suburban Swale

Sunday morning I took a quick powerwalk around the Old Harbor/Campanelli Development loop.  Nearing home I passed a kid maybe twenty... which grandparent must he be visiting post-Labor Day?  He looked like a young Glenn Beck!  Sandy-haired, chubby, in a navy-blue t-shirt and matching Dickies-pants~ eyes bloodshot like he was baked, weeping, or both...  Didn't seem appropriate to wave howdy...

Passed each other, I got around the corner, and he shouted back, "QUEER!"

Beckism comes to my neighborhood.
