Makes you proud, doesn't it? More like makes you sick. Racism is alive and well in America....no matter what shade of lipstick you put on that pig.
And now let's see...we've heard them call themselves the "real' Americans, now they are the "good" americans.
Must be nice to be so righteous and so perfect.

We have really not changed much since civil-rights. And I'll bet deep in their "real" and "good" hearts they'd like to see women go back to the stone ages too.
Your America?? You can have it.

I want a different one.

Given his wartime experiences as a POW in Vietnam, Sen. John McCain was by default the most powerful and influential member of the Select Committee. Members on both sides of the aisle deferred to his judgment; reporters hung on his every pronouncement. And so when McCain, his chief of staff Mark Salter and their allies on the Select Committee joined forces with top Bush administration officials to assail, ridicule, attack, discredit, photoshop, retouch, manipulate, massage and/or "cherry-pick" the intelligence in order to destroy its intelligence value and keep the matter of live POWs from becoming an issue in the 1992 election, the live POWs never had a chance.

How McCain and Salter and the others went about doing this is a case study in how powerful government officials can manipulate intelligence to make it say what they want it to say - and the main reason we believe that John McCain must not be Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces.

Outrage doesn't even come close.

I sincerely hope OB, or remotely McCain, tax you out of existence and leave the rest of us alone(who have few assets) to quiet desperation to the new socialist state you so love and want!

but given the recent polls, and blogs here, all is lost and us old timers are seeing the rapid destruction of what we once loved and respected..

Let it happen and see the results..

Since Bush, millions have seen their quality of life diminish, while his policies have engorged the wealth of the top...wealth redistribution towards the top. As David Gergen pointed out."You are our base, and we will support you."---Cheney.
I'm not even mentioning the war, as it's not politically correct to do so around here. But people are still;;;;;

I do enjoy how people toss around the word "socialism", as if they know what they are talking about. If you apply what I think people mean by it, then there all sorts of aspects of this "socialism" that we've accepted already, the idea of progressive taxation, for example. If you want to scream about socialism, well you best talk to the current Bush Administration about any number of corporate bailouts. Hundreds of billions for corporate America, but vetos 7 billion a year to give 10 million more kids health care.

Watch the actual interview with Joe the phony plumber.
Obama said something like "if we spread the wealth around, more people will prosper"...as in, giving MIDDLE class people a tax break so they can spend more money and "spread it around". As in letting the wealthy pay their fair share, so MIDDLE incomes don't get soaked into oblivion. AS the middle pay state, federal, and payroll. $90,000.+ don't pay into payroll. Stop letting corporate welfare rule. Hoarding money so they can buy more luxury jets, homes and vacations.Trickle down my ass. It's been trickle up! And meanwhile.....all you yahoos and hurrahs are letting VETERANS live on the streets cause YOU don't want any "social" programs for them. WE pay Haliburton and Blackwater so they can overcharge US and get away with crimes over there un-accounted for.
Corporate welfare, Banking welfare...and where do you think the money has gone?? Just LOOK. They are out enjoying themselves on this very nice luxurious life-style that THEY afforded with everyone else's money, and now everyone else is paying for their mistakes. SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!
10/20/08 @ 8:43 am
Buzz [Member] writes:
Well, I knew it was just a matter of time before someone "interpreted" what he meant. How does "giving middle class a tax break" translate into "spreading the wealth around".

"$90,000.+ don't pay into payroll" please explain?
10/20/08 @ 9:34 am
bittersweet [Member] writes:
That's right....my interpretation, so please don't use it to smear Obama. Like you righties always do. Smear, lie and jump ugly.
And sh*t, why should I answer anything to you? YOU never answer ANYTHING. I'm still waiting to hear of the wealthy members of this community who have gone to prison.
But. I will try as far as my understanding goes:
Incomes of up to $35-45,000(not sure which is the cut-off) pay the payroll tax only.
Incomes from $45-90,000 pay payroll, state and federal.
Incomes from $90,000 up pay state and federal only.
Now, the thing is, the payroll tax is the highest tax of them all...it is more than the state and federal income taxes COMBINED. So, whenever anyone says "Poor people don't pay taxes",they are wrong. As a PERCENTAGE of their incomes, they pay more to the gvt. than the $90,000 and up earners. UNLESS you own a business, then you get hit with a lot more (from my understanding).
And don't pretend that businesses don't have all kind of corporate loop-holes and tricks to get out of paying any tax whatsoever. WHICH Obama wants to close. And that is a good idea.

10/20/08 @ 12:31 pm
Democrant [Member] writes:
Buzz- by spreading the wealth around, I'm pretty sure most folks understand that our taxation system is accepted as progressive. Well it's meant to be, but that is another story. Maybe you think it's American for companies to avoid taxes here and ship jobs overseas?

Here's the best part- Palin calling Obama and Biden and experiment in socialism at a rally yesterday. This from the governor of a state, which has collective ownership of oil and other natural resources, and equally distributes the state's cut of the revenues to every citizen.

That is what I was trying to point out. Both the federal and the state income taxes COMBINED are not as much as the payroll tax is. And, since FICA has a limit of 97,500...they are exempt from paying it anymore...the biggest tax on the block (at least on my paycheck)
So, both the working poor and the working middle class in effect, pay more a PERCENTAGE of their incomes to the gvt. OK? The $97,500 pay less a share of their wealth. The amount is only more cause they have more. You still TAKE more a % of the earnings from the less well-off.
And, the crisis will happen before the

Huh? TV? phones? clothes? hospitals? I'm paying for those on my own...interesting concept, you should try it.

The rest... I pay for with MY taxes (and pay for others as well)

Social Security... I'll take the money and invest it if I could... I can do much better investing it than the govt. Unfortunatley, others can't. It would go towards new sneakers, fake nails, I pods, new cell phones, McDonalds, expensive cars and designer jeans. That's much more important to sum than saving for thier future.

We didn't hear Hagee or Parsley's ranting and raving continuously on the "news".

And I'm not telling any one how to vote. I like Obama because he gets it. That this country has been run for millionaires and rich people these past 8 years. And he wants it to stop.
