Don't get me started on gas prices/ Long time no rant....
Price of a regular gallon of gas this morning
Shell: corner of Boylston and Ipswich near Fenway Park $2.53
Gulf: Bourne Bridge Rotary $2.79
And that Gulf usually has one of the lowest prices on the Cape. Someone needs to step up on this one, it is outrageous.

I hear there's a campaign going on. Well, I guess it's time to step back into this, post-summer hiatus, and start a maelstrom or two.....
Hmmmm... Reilly campaign, still pretty moribund, wouldn't you say? Did he ever articulate a reason why he wanted to be governor, other than inheriting the mantle of so many Democratic statewide office holders that ran out of entitlement? That said, he probably has the 2nd best organization and "old guard" support, low turnout could help.
Chris Gabrieli has spent millions more than his opponents and has little traction. Well he has a plan to reduce taxes, but regardless of which side of the aisle you are on, the word "plan" should send shivers. I don't think people like plans. Then again, I'm not sure they like Chris
I've been supporting Deval Patrick since well back in '05. I understand completely what he says about the tax situation as a shell game between state and local revenues. I believe him to be the most open to cutting edge new ideas to move this state forward to compete and grow jobs. The organization put together has been phenomenal and will be a huge edge on election day. If he wins the primary, we can look forward to a lot of love going Deval's way from the Big Shadow himself, Bill Clinton.
Perhaps Kerry Healey will have Cheney sneak into town for another fund raiser!
I also strongly support Andrea Silbert's campaign for second banana seat on Beacon Hill. Quite simply, she is right, jobs grow the pie allowing you to do all sorts of wonderful things you want to do, to both have strong programs that help people and concurrently keep pressure on taxes down.
I don't even know where to begin as far as the race to replace Shirley Gomes. That's an entertaining group.
Dick Neitz is raising a lot of money to lose again to Cleon Turner. I'm not only saying that as a Dem, Cleon has had a significant impact as a freshman legislator, both in terms of bringing home some bacon and stepping to the lead on the issue of equity for regional schools.
I would recommend that Cleon get himself blogging on here, and not, I repeat NOT, have a MySpace page.
More to come...

Support Andrea because she's a local, Harwich "hairlegger" like Len and myself.
Mind you your point has NOTHING to do with the fact that gas prices are a quarter or more per gallon on the Cape than off Cape. And that no one is saying or doing a damn thing about it. It's not quite enough the Cape wages are lower than the state, cost of housing is high, what's one more thing, right? Wrong, it's outrageous and there is no leadership on this whatsoever coming from anywhere.

Can anyone see her playing ribbon cutter like Kerry Healey? Not me. I like her drive, her forcefulness, and her leadership on issues.
Likely, she'll press any governor she serves with to accord her personally more authority to work on subjects she's expert on, and will be open to her proposals.
Quite frankly, I see Lt. Governor as a badly underutilized position, and I don't think it would remain so with Andrea in it.
