Hanna's In The Hizzy!

Current Radar in CT - Hartford region

If I'm correct- and I usually am- this will update whenever you refresh the page. Hanna is that big green/yellow/red thing. For another, closer view, click here.

It's not really a storm until the marina breaks out the little matching storm flags.

Advance moisture from Hanna heads for da bridges! And the Storm Flag was flying at Chatham Lighthouse on Saturday afternnon.

Here's what we know at the Sports Desk....

There is a tropical storm warning for pretty much all of SE new England, us included. Hanna is currently (4 PM) over Maryland/Delaware, heading northeast at around 25 mph. We've already had some of the rain from it, and the big winds should arrive at 9-10 PM. Betting at our house has the eye coming ashore at around the CT/RI border, but that could easily change in a few hours. The highest winds we should see from this will be 60 mph gusts, but something hurricane force (briefly) wouldn't be that big of a shocker.

High tides go about 5 AM in Falmouth, 6 AM in Onset, 6:30 in Nantucket, etc... astronomically low tides, too... which is good, because Hanna will be right on top of us at these times. Tides are expected to run 1-4 feet above normal.

Here's the expected track:

Keep your head up, y'all.

Update: 10 PM... it's just about on us now... rain in Wareham.

I should leave some playful comment as tit for tat, but I am feeling uncreative tonight! Stay safe Stacy!

It looks like it'll be minor, much worse for central Mass.

She's got the glasses...if she'd only put her hair up, she'd look just like Sarah "Barracuda".

A portion of Heart's "Barracuda" lyrics, I think I see some of your inspiration in these words.

"Barracuda"

So this aint the end -
I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the sun -
Kisses for real
And tales - it never fails!

You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
Youd have me down down down down on my knees
Now wouldnt you, barracuda?

Back over time we were all
Trying for free
You met the porpoise and me
No right no wrong, selling a song-
A name, whisper game.

If the real thing dont do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda? …
