Batman: The Dark Knight (A Review)
![]()
Maybe the subtitle should be "The Dark Nap"
Aside from reading Cape Cod Times review by Tim Miller, I must say I had been rather excited by the barrage of all hype and hopefully unbiased reviews for "The Dark Knight", another installment of the Batman series, all over the media.
So what have I got to say about it? Bleh! I for one fell asleep at 10ish the night before and got up around 5:30 a.m. that day, did my laundry at 7:30 a.m. at Star Laundry, oh this is about Batman, "The Dark Knight". Honestly, I can't decide which of those 4 events are more exciting, going to sleep, waking up or doing laundry or watching the movie. I went to the Regal Cinemas of Hyannis at 9 a.m. to witness what many critics had already said.
Regarding Heath Ledger's performance, I must say, it was his last as you probably have heard by now, he's been dead for many months. Did the Joker, Ledgers role die in the movie, I don't know. Aside from falling asleep during the middle of the movie, I actually walked out of the movie and biked, (that's bicycled) to the Black Spot Cafe Bar where I am now. typing about this bloated movie called "The Dark Knight", take my advice, take a good long nap before the movie and wait for Ledgers performance when the PPV and RedBox, Blockbuster or your local hack has the movie, Ledger's performance cannot carry this otherwise, overlong boring with decent action sequences 152 minute movie.
On the bright side, a real dark side, there is another movie coming out with "The Dark Knight" movie actor, Christian Bale (of whom plays Batman / Bruce Wayne) is another installment of the Terminator movies, without Governor Arnold. This one is reportedly (by the movie trailers own admittance) the final installment and looks to be far better and superior to "The Dark Knight". 2 STARS for the movie, Ledgers perhaps Oscar winning performance. -Willam K. Mahler.
