Sailing Class Returns to Town Cove in Orleans

As the swallows return to Capistrano, so too a sure sign of the season is when the sailing classes return to Town Cove and the Orleans Yacht Club.   It was 4:00 p.m. when the first sails were sighted as the majestic chimes of the Orleans Methodist Church added a bit of character to the event.

Demolition of a Cape Cod House - Cool or Sad?

Found this video  on YouTube of the demolition of a small Cape Cod house.

It is  pretty good quality,  well-edited, only three minutes long, and uses an operatic aria from La Boheme for effect.

It's a strangely moving video when you think about the memories this little cottage must have held.

Tuna fishing on Cape Cod Bay with Mass Bay Guides

American Charterman is a movie series filmed over the past season . The film captures every day people like you fishing on various boats in the Mass Bay fleet. The first of the series shows 15 huge Stripers and 6 schooly Tuna with some of the most incredible fast pace action set to an upbeat modern musical background .

The second series now in editing shows large Shark and Cod set to the same fast pace action. The scenery in these films is out of this world! This series is like no other fishing show out there. See the video here

Humpback Whales Feeding off Cape Cod

Video taken from the Dolphin fleet whale watch boat on Cape Cod Massachusetts showing various Humpback whales feeding just off the side of the boat.

Cape Cod Par-Tay

This made the email rounds about a month ago, but just in case you missed it:   Smirnoff has released a hilarious music video to promote its new alcoholic beverage Smirnoff's Raw Tea.

It's a rap-style song spoofing New England preppies and Cape Cod, featuring impeccably groomed white guys flanked by writhing blonde girls in tennis garb and pearls, driving around in their Mercedes past shingled houses, and generally hanging at the country club.   Guaranteed laughter.

Video Clip: Edgar Does Whitney on Route 6

For the inaugural video clip on this blog, I wish I could say I was presenting something with artistic or aesthetic merit.   But that's no fun! 

Instead, I give you Edgar, a man riding in the backseat of a car leaving Provincetown, who lip synchs and vamps to a disco version of Whitney Houston's famous song "The Greatest Love of All" while wearing a long blonde wig.

It's excruciating, but worth watchingto the end  (it's 4 min. 35 sec.) when he joyfully leaps out of  the car and runs down Route 6 in his wig among stand-still traffic.   

Edgar, are you behind a desk somewhere right now in a suit and tie?  I hope not.
