Congratulations to the Sandwich schools for having a real life presentation of what the students are learning. The parents who complained are trying to shelter their children from something that is not a threat.

By the way.. at any teaching college, that Sandwich class would be cited as a good example of modern, hands-on, interactive education.
When judging that teacher, balance your view by imagining some tired old teacher doing the same section of the curriculum by pointing at a blurry overhead projection for 5 minutes. Imagine the same kids in each classroom. Which group better understands the subject matter afterwards?

“Come tonight there would be a new B of H chairman and new hours." Statement that was heard from Bill Snowden prior to the Yarmouth Board of Health Meeting. Is there a Open Meeting Law Violation here? Mmmmmmm.

Have you seen the Globe Today? Get the barf bag...are they at all bias about who should be the winner? And the gays and women think she is for them? Think again. She's really just for herself and has zero experience to represent our state in DC.
Be sure to check out the comments after reading the nauseating article giving her more kudos than she deserves. And still, she will not admit the Fells Acre tragedy. What is her paranoia over Halloween candy. Once a prosecutor, always a prosecutor. I hear the CCTimes stated the Kennedy's aren't happy with her either, especially for jumping out before Ted was properly laid to rest.

"Cape Wind merits swift approval." - Martha Coakley. US Senate candidate Coakley endorses Cape Wind.
The Ice Lady lives in Medford. Sure she would endorse this loser of a project. State Senator Scott Brown, the Republican candidate, will not support this project. He wants to keep his electric bills down and knows this project will cost us. I wonder how many votes were promised to Coakley, aka the Ice Lady, from the Wind Farm supporters,

I am in favor of the "twin wind towers" in N. Harwich.
"A third renewable project seeking to install solar panels on the unused cap of the town landfill was turned down after the Finance Committee cast doubts on the preliminary project. The so-called “solar garden” looked to utilize two parcels, each an acre in size but lacked approvals from the state environmental regulators.
Finance Committee member Peter Hughes brought up some history for attendees.
“Remember you spent $1.8 million to cover that landfill,” he said.
Hughes urged the public to make sure that they approve something that they know won’t harm the relatively thin plastic cap, causing the town further cost."
Curious how we have concerns for a thin plastic sheet but none for the remains of Native Americans. Talk about twisted values.

Of course it went to China...we OWE them.
They OWN us.
Thanks to the greed and money-chasing wonderful American Business and Bank Interests who are so Patriotic they always vote Republican/ Big Oil/ Continuous-Non-Ending WAR.
We'll be lucky if we aren't a little subsidiary of the China Monopoly, working at those sweat-shops like the Chinese people do now.
Only difference is many more "regular" Americans got the benefit of those sweat-shops than "regular" Chinese....
Welcome to the Old World Order..been going on forever, America just got her indoctrination.

CNBC another narrow mind steps up to the plate. It's not NIMBA, it's the potential dissaster a hurricane will make of the Sound, higher electric rates.

And that's after some $836 million in green technology deals in 2009-the most ever, according to Greentech Media, and another $8 billion in renewable energy loans budgeted under the Obama administration's stimulus package...
Especially when all that green money went to China for wind turbines.

Johnathan - I couldn't agree more... I have a small place just a stone's throw from Old Wharf Rd and in the last few years have seen several of the quaint little cottages torn down to be replaced by oversized year-round homes that are too large for their lots - complete with landscaping, asphalt drives and underground sprinklers. Oh -and a variance because they are non-conforming since the lot isn't big enough. The whole charm of Dennisport is in the cottage community. These people just don't get it...

Dennisport isn't exactly Shangri-La, but the gentrification inherent in the proposal isn't appealing either. I lived in that neighborhood in 2005, and was always amazed at the contrast between the tiny cottages and the towering resorts and "new money" homes.
It's been all the rage to jack up those cottages and dig basements. This seems at least marginally better than tearing the village down. The fact is, the character of Dennisport IS the old style cottages, seaside colonies and graveyard-like desolation several months out of the year. Let's not make it what it isn't. Enough of that happened already.

To be taken to a police station to take a chemical test, you do in fact have to be under arrest. To be asked to take a breath test into a portable breath tester you do not have to be under arrest, however, the results of, or refusal to take a portable breath test are not admissible in court, nor may the registry use that against you. Only the fixed machine at the ploice barracks counts as evidence.

The car the trooper was driving had serious damage. The citation for "following too close" is ridiculous. Good for the family of the vehicle hit by the trooper for being persistent with the authorities.

You don't need to be under arrest to take a breathalyzer. If the officer feels there is probable cause he can perform a number of field sobriety tests, and the suspect can refuse the breathalyzer.
But you are right, there was little evidence to work with. That's because the cops covered it up. They didn't even list the two open containers of alcohol at first. Only after the Times pressed the State Police did they go back, conduct a second "investigation" and add it in. And now, again because of pressure from the media, O'Keefe is asking for another investigation.
It seems to me the media actually did its job in this case, holding our police friends accountable when they CLEARLY gave one of their own preferential treatment.
And as for HIPAA laws, they are the most misunderstood and misinterpreted items out there. Public officials often try to inappropriately hide behind HIPAA, when in fact the public is entitled to certain medical records.

This reporter has made a lot of news with little evidence. In order to be given a breathalyzer the person needs to be under arrest, that was not the case here based upon Hosp ER Dr. and staff, 2 cops and no comments from the 2 people in the truck that was struck. Who does the CCT & rept think they are to be able to view medical records when ever they want. The rptr should get some facts and then report them

Remember how Gov. Patrick promised us new green jobs in this state? If "Democrant" is still around... he remembers. Well, here's how its going so far:
"MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- A solar panel company is moving some jobs overseas after receiving $58 million in state aid and being touted by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick as a symbol of the state's economic future.
Evergreen Solar Inc. said it is moving the panel assembly jobs currently done at a plant in Massachusetts to China next year. The announcement came as the company announced that it lost $167 million in the first nine months of this year."

Governor Deval Patrick was critical of the decision in a statement released last night.

Sen. Brown is terrified of Cape Wind
because he knows that the next time he
goes on one of his hysterical screaming
tirades against high school students
the blades on the turbines will
spin much quicker.

Markey is really stretching it here.
First, he's smoking something if he thinks that a decision on Cape Wind will get any notice in Copenhagen.
Second, the Interior Department should do its due diligence thoroughly and in a timely fashion. This work should not be accelerated for the benefit of foreign countries.

I'm still waiting for my toy windmills. Don't hurry or anything... the girls will really enjoy them when they're in their 20s.

Since the originally sold us the land and we f*cked them out of the payment, it becomes like a ortgage issue or something. The Wamps should apply for a bailout.
