I hear a lot about the buzz word at the state house: Creative economy, i.e. the role of the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences in local economies. Does your organization deal with that? My blog is Historic Harwich. Do you have a connection in Harwich? Hope to hear from you. E-mail jprophet@earthlink.net

I have to agree, Opinionator. I was hoping it would be a lecture by Sydney Biddle Barrows. Now, that lady had some business sense. Well, until she got caught, that is.

AHA - Then it worked Opinionator!
Maybe we'll keep that topic in mind for future speaking opportunities however :-)

Unfair headline! I had visions of buxom ladies with excessive make-up and fish net stockings, extolling the virtues of a second "night" job or the fun of looking for business on the Airport Rotary. Unfair!

My seminar... "Being good enough at sex to attract a rich husband who sort of lets you sit around and smoke weed all day while blogging"... will be held this February 30th.

Thanks for your nice wishes umassjsp and oh the huge manatee! The CCYP has been around for about a year now and we're just beginning discussions on some of the more important subject matter such as affordable child care, affordable housing, good paying jobs for young prof., etc...
This past year, we've built a lot of momentum with the group and our volunteer board is really excited about the future. Please contact us with any questions and pass the word!

wow! I never heard of you guys. It is a smart move to have a blog here, as now more people will know about you. I would suggest that you do more things like this to spread the word. I'm 44 but I still think of myself as being a "young" professional - especially here on Cape Cod, where the ages run much higher than elsewhere. Good luck to you.

Good luck to the CCYP! I hope you guys discuss some ways to bring good full time jobs to the Cape. I had to leave the Cape when I was 25 to find work and the last 20 years living in Worcester have sucked although I love my job. The Silicon Sandbar dream seems to be dead but maybe a casino would generate some good year round jobs. Commuting to Boston in a tin can is not pleasant but i would do it to move back home to Barnstable. Good luck guys and gals!!

21-40 is pretty much the standard for "Young" professionals groups, but we welcome anyone who is "young at heart"

Just curious, what is the exact definition of "young"?
