Looks stunning, can hardly wait, to try it.

You'd better check the Red Rose Inn again, things have changed and not for the better...people leaving the dining room on their way out whispering to waiting guests that they should try a different place!!

I was recently taken to Red Rose for a quiet birthday celebration and they delivered a fine tasteful experience.A glass of wine on the lawn with a beautiful view of the ocean started my meal off just right and the staff felt like friends. From soup to dessert all was an experience that made my tastebud dance with excitement.I had the feeling like I was dining at a friend lovely summer home and they spare no expense to make me feel at home.Lobster in a delicate batter over
Linguine was absolutely to die for.The rolls were outstanding. And dessert was Chocolate covered Profiteroles with fresh Berries. The owners and staff are outstanding and make this a quiet getaway that I'll surely return to.
It was worth the trip.

Hats off to the reviewer for a less than glowing report. I have not been there, but am well accustomed to a less than capable wait staff which likes to flirt with each other. The secret is to get someone with the looks and energy of a 19 year old and the work ethic and social skills of a 45 year old. These types don't grow on trees.

My husband had to leave Leo's in Buzzards Bay, sprint across Rte. 6 to a gas station, and buy the drinks that our waitress repeatedly forgot to bring over.... even when he stood up, waved to get her attention, and made exaggerated drinking gestures.

Until someone beats that, I'd have trouble fitting anyone else in the back seat of that particular car.

I have to disagree. I've been to Amari's several times and have always ordered a fish dish. Sushami grade Tuna was excellent and the Sea Bass was outstanding. As a matter of fact, they have a better selection of fish than most seafood restaurants I've been too.

Just my opinion.

In response to: Abbicci: The ABC?s of Italian
Thank you to the last writer for clearing things up. As for the others, you New Englanders crack me up. Snap out of your time warp. Haven't you ever seen a Tapas style menu? I ate dinner there, had an appetizer an entree and dessert and I was completely stuffed. Are you people pigs? No, it's not a 24 oz. prime rib with mashed potatoes served on the plate. Who eats like that anymore? It's not McDonalds either, you're supposed to have a few courses and if you do you'll be more than satisfied. Abbicci is an excellent restaurant no matter where you put it, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles - the fact that it's on Cape Cod is nothing short of a miracle. The wine list is one of the best I've seen anywhere and definitely the most reasonably priced. There are some incredible wines on that list that will cost you a whole lot more just about anywhere else. Bravo to the staff at Abbicci. This is one of the best kept secrets going. I wish I could pick the restaurant up and move it to LA.

You did not receive 2 palate cleansers. The first was probably an amuse-bouce meant to signify the start of the meal and the good things to come, wake up the mouth. I'm sure it wasn't a sorbet either, but probably a chilled soup and the waiter would have told you what it was. I have dined there several times and I'm in my 30's. I like the fact that the pace is slower and don't find the dining room to be stuffy at all. I'm soooo tired of everyone trying to be hip on Cape Cod.

I just love the coziness of the tavern. The Warm Gorgonzola Steak Salad is incredible and the pizza is pretty darn tasty too. The artichoke dip is good, but unfortunately they serve it was crackers. Ask for some of their yummy bread instead.

When we went, we sat near a door that seemed to open by itself. Ghostly presence? I sure hope so!

In response to: Tapas on Tap at Gracie's Table
The fact that you could rate The Port higher than Gracie's Table is beyond me. Gracie's is far superior. We consider it one of our favorite restaurants. Might I suggest actually sitting in the restaurant next time you go there. How you could judge a tapas place on two entrees, no tapas and no dessert while seated at the bar is a mystery. When in Harwich Port, I'd rather eat at the Hot Stove than The Port.

Does anyone remember a pastry shop called "Suzanne's" or "Susanne's" on the Cape...not sure exactly where. I used to go there as a kid with my parents, and they had the BEST croissants...I wanted to see if they are still in business so I could get some croissants sent to my folks! Thanks!

You need to go back to the 99 if you think the food at Abbicci is anything but Top Notch. The menu is designed to serve you "small" portions..it's called Tapas. It's straight from Europe, and is the way their restaurants serve their meals there. If you had any class you'd know this. You obviously need to learn a lot more about fine dining. The Tapas style menu at Abbicci is probably the best I've experienced in all of New England. I've been in the food business for 25 years and know fabulous, ahead of thier time cuisine when I see it. Congratulations to the staff of this Jewel of a restaurant. As for the Chef..keep up the imaginative, flavorful, step above the rest cuisine. Your menus are by far tops of the Cape.

I was very disappointed to see your review; in the fast pace of this century, I find it refreshing to be able to sit and enjoy an excellent meal and wine with friends and not be rushed out for the next customer. I give credit to the owners for taking a chance and being very sucessful at it. It makes me wonder...what do you call elegant dining if not 902 Main?

I also disagree with the review of Gracie's Table. Every experience I have had there have been positive ones. The unique menu is just what the Cape needed. The food is delicious and authentic in taste. Anyone truly versed in the culture, knows that you would never find salt on the table in any Spanish kitchen!

Fine Diner, I agree with you that this is a nice spot to take the wife out to dinner. Too expensive to do more than once or twice a year, though.

We experienced a long wait this summer, even with a reservation.

Maybe they could have a "winter" menu for the locals, or a fixed price menu, go get the younger crowd to give it a try.

Your observation about the waiters was right on.

The building was built in the 1970's as a "Robo" carwash where the washing machinery went around the vehicle with its high pressure soap & water. God forbid if your windows weren't totally closed! George's Pizza came much later.
"902 Main" is a wonderful restaurant run by hard-working, professional restauranteurs with a well trained staff. It is a welcome addition to Route 28, and brings a real touch a class to the neighborhood. It ranks as one of the Cape's very BEST places for fine dining, and has a very loyal following.

Yes, I'm quite sure. The carwash came before the pizza place. Just look at the two windows in the front. They were the two drive-throughs of the car wash.

If you are in Harwich Port again - you should definitely try the Cape Sea Grille. A little expensive, but the food is excellent. Also, the Impudent Oyster in Chatham and Christians in Chatham are worthy of a review. They are also excellent.

The Port is a nice change in the Harwich Port scene. Although it is packed with a younger crowd in the summer, it is still nice to have a local spot to get out to, with a decent menu.

As a Cape Cod Lifer, I can gurantee that 902 Main used to be a pizza place. Not a car wash. Good job on the research.

How stupid of Zagats. I mean, they're proffesional restaurant reviewers w/ an elaborate system of reviewing popular restaurants. They give 902 Main 4 stars...obviously they haven't a clue. Then 902 wins "Best of Boston" from Boston Magazine....they must also lack the educated and well cultured palate of Krista.

On a two week trip to the Cape we went there 3 times. I think that speaks very highly of the food. Everything is excellent, but we LOVED the coffee incrusted prok chops. The second time we went all four of us had them. The Creme Brulee is also one of the best I have EVER had!! What a great place!
