Edward Gorey. . . I met him once at a concert at the Hyannis temple. A Strange man, a great man, and a cat lover -- the latter always a plus in my book.

Love the kid in the blue Adirondack. Is it a rule that people in beach portraits have to wear light blue, khakis, or white?

Tanned Caucasians, sand and sky... nice use of Limited Pallete, although as an exurbanite I'm still not used to it.

Fantastic. A million congratulations to your wife and to you. As someone who has spent the last five years either holed up in the ‘writing’ room here on the Cape or fastened to a resin patio chair beating up the keyboard and who is just now forced to embark on that infamous and, well . . . frankly, tedious and boring job of shopping - marketing and otherwise kissing some ass for a lit agent, I can share the excitement with you guys. I do not even know you - but it is so cool to hear! Very exciting stuff! I wish you both the best with it.

Peace,

What a fascinating shot - of an intriguing subject.

I can't pronounce it either... Lame attempt @ identity crisis.

What's a consonat?... A bird related to the cormorant?

More curious...What's in a 'headhunter'?... Sounds bloody hurtful.

Sorry to hear about U & Gadfry... He's one ANGRY... Puppy!

You only laugh occassionally?... Why?

How do you know the dude didn't go to the womens room?

Sure Neddy won't embarress you; but word on the street is he is narcissistically inclined so be careful with your towel as he may covet it for unusual reasons.

My preference for raspberries is without the seeds...

Pwaattt!... You know what I mean?

Icons cud be rather cool!

11/09/08 @ 8:01 am
I really have trouble communicating with someone who uses a name I can't pronouce, plus it has too many consonants.

Headhunter was the drink I had last night. Ever try to write 25 pgs in one day?
Gadfly and I were aquainted. Take it up with him. The young dude was nice and sat down to talk to me, asked me my age, I laughed. It happens occasionally. I was embarrassed and left when he was in the mens room. I didn't know how to get away, it was awkward. I didn't want to hurt his feelings or humiliate him in front of his peers. No talk of dropped towels. That is the difference between some of you and Neddy. He won't ever embarrass me. (rasberries) tongue out! Walter, how about some icons? Visuals work so much better.
11/09/08 @ 7:40 am
Hey!.. I represent that!

Curious as to what the headhunter was looking for?

"blackspot"?... Where's that? - Are you saying gladfly is full of it @ the blackspot?

Are you -sure- you didn't tell the kid you would be willing to drop your towel for Nedski & that gave the yungun thoughts of afternoon delight?...

Fess up now.
11/09/08 @ 7:31 am
Anyway you guys are full of it, gladfly has met me at the black spot. Sure he's reported back, I was dropping posters for Neddy's art show and presented the owners with a couple of framed copies work Ned did for me. This young 20 something kid was hitting on me, nice guy, but too young, I prefer a well seasoned man.

Never did see scent of a woman. Love Dali's melted clocks. Don't think he could do better than Neddy. He was strange that Dali. Ever see the silhoette of a curvy woman with a bouquet of flowers for a head and bones of her lover fallen behind, a man on his knees. Picture a cru as Marilyn who sang to JFK on his birthday. That's what ma had that enchanted dad. Even at 72, he loved women. Ma had him hooked. The 200k from days of bootlegging and his roguish ways was his allure. I got dads green eyes, auburn hair and ballsy.attitude. I got ma's best. That headhunter was just what I needed. Even my 25 pg manuscript in one day for class tomorrow wasn't enough. I still found time to post. Blog on fellas.nighty night.
11/08/08 @ 10:26 pm
A fine chuckle wus had mav...

You doth slain me tonight!

Pablo & Dali might have fought over the chance and ultimately acquiesced to the almighty Nedmeister master of all.

88 I don't recall but Pacino...

My fav...

'Scent of a Woman'.

Was memorable even though I don't know how to Tango...

Tangle, yes... Tango... No.

Good nite Irene.

11/08/08 @ 9:05 pm
Peck...been watching Pacino in 88 mins.

Missed all the fun.

Still think Dali would best replicate "tubby in the buff".

And he can still get it up at this late stage in his life. Have visited his final resting place in Figueres. A true inspiration and talent. Not just a pretender.
11/08/08 @ 8:17 pm
Good for dear ol' dad!...

Chances are he had really big bucks or really big... To snag mumsie @ 32!

Either case... Mom won.

So, crus... You know you are teasing us all...

So just 'git it dun'...

And let us see "what we don't see" that's what ultimately matters ok?

Reasonably sure you will blind Buzz though.

Do us ALL a really big favor will you and lay off stroking Nedskie so much...

He does a really good job all by his lonesum!...

Right Ned?

11/08/08 @ 8:07 pm
Well as Billy Joel would say,"Catholic girls start much to late". I beg to differ. Depends on what you think is late. Dear old dad was only 72 and managed to snag ma at a young 32. His friends were jealous.

Neddy's sketch will show my true image. When I'm 80, long way off, It will take me back to a time of self discovery and heightened awakening. With any true talent, it shows how the artist sees its subject and that's what makes it hot. His work on the cru poster is pretty close with respect to all characterizations of subjects represented. It is what you don't see that matters. Everyone sees something different. That's true art. Neddy is one of those rare talents and he has a warm soul. His masterpieces hang proudly at work and home. Many admire his talent, depth and precision. Friends for life Neddy.
11/08/08 @ 6:56 pm
No cru; but oh just tha thought!...

Are you sure Ned is ~up~ to it? ;~)

Just in case I think Wally has a pretty good camera & maybe...

Just what is it you are trying to "self express"?...

Yeah, ok... Nothing quite like eroticism - Many great artists are famous for their nudes & perhaps you could be next.

Yup... A former (as McCain said) "that one" - Catholic. Iyeeeeeee!
11/08/08 @ 6:12 pm
crusader, I have a self-portrait that was drawn by another student from my class (long ago) alot of people don't realize how beautiful they really are when you see it through someone else's eyes.
11/08/08 @ 6:08 pm
Where did I say it would be posted here? Like Rose from the movie Titanic, I wish to have my body on canvas. They do it all the time at the MFA. Students posing nude for artists. Its a form of self expression. Leave it to you to consider it unclean. Where you raised Catholic, too?
11/08/08 @ 5:24 pm
OMG!... cru in the buff?

I thought this was a CLEAN SITE!

And you talk about me.
11/08/08 @ 3:22 pm
cru...no problem. Sarah has already volunteered.

Says she loves chilly weather and hunks with short hair.

To each their own.
11/08/08 @ 3:15 pm
Mav,

A bit chilly for towels, don't you think? Only towel I'm considering is the one I wear when Neddy sketches me in the buff.
11/08/08 @ 2:38 pm
Great image...I may be doing a video later this month with Robson Green of "Extreme Fishing". We may need a few toweled mates.

Any takers Cru?

Nice shot. I once had the pilot of an open cockpit Waco biplane tip it over beyond 90 degrees (against his own rules) so I could shoot the airfield straight down. Interesting shot, but there's no way to get the wing struts out of the picture.

What kind of plane was this?

Hey Chris,
How about some shots of the current state of the new cut in Nauset?
Or the current condition of the Southway.
Got any?

Hi Jeff,

Thanks very much. I realize I'm pushing it with more gulls. I have a few more that I like very much and also insist on printing simply because there's a market for them, just like for lighthouses. Selling printed photos here can be a bit heart breaking- the cool, arty ones don't sell, and the gulls, and lighthouses, and sunsets fly. I've done a previous blog about making over-shot locations fresh again, by using various approaches..... The short of it is, if you're a photographer here, just when you think you're done with them, one flies into your shot and it turns out great.

Just noticed the photo. Unbelieveable. Nice work, Christopher. Should be on Page One...no offense to whatever may be on Page One, but we see a lot of these gulls around here, never like that before...Awesome.
