Hi Dan, thanks for sharing your story with us. I for one, knew nothing of dwarfism until I began watching the Roloff's. I am looking forward to the new season. The show is fantastic. Not too many shows can bring laughter and tears in one episode. I normally oppose reality shows, but I applaud Matt and Amy for letting us into their lives, and educating all of us. I get the biggest kick out of Matt and Amy and their opposite views of the farm lol I grew up in a similar situataion after my dad purchased a farm lol The medical complications related to dwarfism were shocking to me, I had no idea. Meredith Eaton is an amazing actress, with quite an impressive background. I was sad to hear of her husbands death. I am happy to hear Becky is doing so well after such a tough start in life. I wish her much happiness and good health. I am purchasing your book, and will pass it on to others. Best wishes to you and your family.
About This Blog

A week after her birth in 1992, Dan Kennedy's firstborn daughter, Rebecca, was diagnosed with achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. Reassured by doctors that Becky would have normal intelligence and a normal life span, Dan and his wife, Barbara, quickly adjusted to the reality of her condition. Not so easy was grasping people's attitudes toward those with physical differences. This book tells Rebecca's story.
Author Dan Kennedy is an award-winning journalist, an assistant professor of journalism at Northeastern University and a media critic at MediaNation. He may be e-mailed here.
