I'm voting for Anastasia, Mr. Howell and Ned Beatty entirely because they blog here. 'Same goes for Aaron Malloy or Bennett For Senate. I figger I can get one of them thru Walter if I really need something done. It's better to be Wrong and Connected than to be Right and Just Another Face In The Crowd At The Rally.

A vote for Anastasia is a vote for common sense, efficiency, and modernity, making the Probate Court easier and accessible through the use of the Internet.

A vote for Turkington is a vote for tax-and-spend bogus job creation, and also for more pollution--not having these forms available online creates thousands of unnecessary car trips to the Court, wasting everyone's precious money and time.

Don't feel bad, if Turkington doesn't win, I'm sure he'll end up with some pseudo gov't job.... like guardrail and street sign oversight steering committee or the new President of CCCC.

local - Anastasia has experience - years as a private sector attorney and years as Assistant Register - combined makes her the most qualified. The quote also says "No Party politics in the Register's Office" - and she is right on that too.

Perrino's quote: "The election should be about hiring the most qualified person for the job."
Why should that be? They didn't select the most qualified person in the Primary election.

She should shoot a few moose and tone her legs up... she could be the GOP front runner in 2012.

I saw several enthusiastic campaign workers in front of C3TV. I will be voting accordingly on election day. Good Luck!

If I decide to return to the court, I will work with the next Register of Probate regardless of who wins the election. Therefore, while I did attend the GOP breakfast on Wednesday, I did not voice support for any candidate in this race.

Gracious in victory. Both of these women were extraordinary candidates, and I hope that their good attitude will guarantee victory now that there is a nominee.

peter - go to their websites, which tell you all about the job. I think the liberal opponent is Eric Turkington, if you read the PDF attached to this posting. I think that's why you should care.

All I know for sure is twice in the last week I've gotten automated phone calls from Anastasia Welsh Perrino talking about her "liberal opponent" but not telling me a damn thing about what the Register of Probate is or why I should care.

Doesn't say much about her "professionalism and character" as far as I'm concerned.

If they're both girls, they should just have them wrestle in the town square.

It's too bad this is an elected position since the duties are no more political than say a town's treasurer. If you owned private business and were seeking to fill a position with the same duties as the Register you'd advertise for applicants. If you came down to three finalist resumes - Turkington, Young and Welsh-Perrino - the choice would be clear. Based on education and experience, Welsh-Perrino is a perfect fit.

i was surprised to see Troy endorsed a Democrat in the same column - Mary Pat no less . . . yes he is a Republican but I always respect him for having thoughtful insight. He is not always right, but with Perrino and Mary Pat, he is right on both counts. Both of these women are just better for the job.
