POSSE: I write in Response to your blog. I don't have to go to the middle east to see the insanity that war does to nations. The peoples of the world. I was in the Army in Europe at the end of the war.WWII.
As for our leadership, G. Bush was never a peacemaker. He is in fact a Warlord. J. McCain is a warrior.
Great Britain wrote the books on war. A professional warring Nation. The people in the middle east, trapped in poverty, live to fight and die They have nothing else to live for. We are born to live. It is our leadership that commands us to go to war.
According to this administration,we have to continue to kill! military being killed, civilians being killed ! to end the killing.
WE have portrayed ourselves as Britain as a warring nation.Sell Rice! Wheat and Corn! for peace. Our leadership continuing to support war over peace.
Opposing to talk to our enemies, John Kennedy said. "If mankind does not end war. War will end mankind." We can for see war and destruction. For so many years now, we no longer appear as the ambassador of peace.

Perhaps all you peaceniks should visit Iran Iraq Afghanistan for starters..
oh, that would be a folly because US interests caused all the carnage there for the last 1000+ years..sorry.
But rich white conservative capitalists started it all 300 years ago..right?
Oh, Britain for the last 400 years...
what about before that?
Ok then, let's try Africa..
visit any country there and interview all the populace,no whites there, and ask them about peace and then ask them about the carnage perpetrated on them for millenium..
Yes , britain was part of it, but whose perpetrating it now?
Please, get a life and study the facts..

To Paul Rifkin: A video, a thing of beauty. Bravo. I am many miles away. My heart is with Cape Cod. I stand for peace, HOW CAN WE HAVE PEACE IN THE WORLD IF THEIR IS NO PEACE IN THE LAND OF PEACE? AMERICA. As a four year old little girl said, on " talent show, when asked where she is from." Are you from New York?" She answered "I am from America"!
Here in Arizona, we have so many extremists, hard core Republicans, G. Bush followers, Conservatives. people afraid of change. They openly admit they want no part of change.
They don't know the sound of peace. We are surrounded by desert and the high country where peace is all around us. They don't hear the sound of silence. They don't want to accept. They see only what they want to see. They listen to only what they want to listen to. People in defiance can not hear the sound of peace. Nor believe in peace.
They turn towards guns, out of their own fears they themselves created. Peace is the same as the meaning of life. That is love.

Thanks for remembering.
Often people who aren't involved forget and go about their daily lives.Those with close connections remember and will never forget.It helps to know that there are some people who care as we do.

I saw the same thing in Boston a few years back to commemorate those who have died in Iraq.
My mom started crying automatically. Me, I just got a cold hard knot of anger in the pit of my stomache.

To the families of these soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice - as the man in the video said "we are both sad and proud". We share both with you.
