Republicans open Hyannis H.Q.

Don Howell of Harwich sent these pictures he took at Saturday's Hyannis Phone Bank/HQ ribbon cutting with Scott Brown on hand. Above US Senate candidate Scott Brown regales the party regulars, while below, Barnstable Patriot reporter Edward F. Maroney at left takes down the words for his weekly newspaper as supporters listen.
Don added, "Pass them along to a friend - he's a great guy and we have a great chance! And signs are now available, with more to come - and try to keep some time to help at the phone bank."
The HQ is at 645 Main St. Hyannis. People who want to help staff it can contact Don Howell at (508) 292-2277 dhowell@cape.com, Sean Higgins (who organized the space) at (508) 353-2309 or Fran Manzelli at manzellif@comcast.net.
Scott mentioned at the event that he has been very effective in the state Senate by reaching across the aisle. He also stated that he feels one of his top objectives as a U.S. Senator would be to work to provide good paying private sector jobs to stem the exodus of young people in this state by giving them better opportunities to stay and work here. He concluded by asking people to remember the number "60", because that's the number of Senators it takes cut off any debate. As a U.S. Senator from MA, he believes that fact would allow the citizens of MA a greater voice than any Democrat could provide, as his vote on any issue would be more meaningful, given the current makeup of the Senate.
A reception honoring Brown will be held today (Sunday, November 15th) at the Hyannis Golf Club from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Click here for details.
