bitter,
Capuano has spoken out against the war from the very beginning. I use to watch him on our local channel when he was interviewed. I was actually surprised he was so outspoken against the administration, at the time, and wondered how he weathered through the storm in DC during those eight long years. He's definitely a man of courage, strength and vision, in the face of adversity--has certainly proved it, time after time.

I just heard someone talking about Saddam the other day...can't remember who, but they said Saddam actually killed terrorists, but since our invasion, the place is rampant with them.
And Capuano voted against the war too? Another brave vote, as it was very un-American and cowardly to say that at the time. Huge public pressure to be for the war.
Well-let's see what happens...I've seen signs for him around the neighborhood. That's a good sign!

....there is however a distant family connection, he's definitely a man with integrity and works hard at his job to be the best he can be for the people of this state.
He has gone outside of his district to help others, because that's the type of guy he is--just down to earth and likable. You can tell he cares about people and wants to make a difference in their lives. You don't see that with many politicians today. I'm proud to have him as a congressman and I wish him the best. I know he will continue to work hard for his constituents and keep fighting for our rights and freedom.

bitter,
While Buzz and his cronies launch a negative campaign...
Mike remains positive about working for change and putting people back to work.
He said that some of his friends in Congress that voted for the war, admitted later they regret their vote, said he was right to have voted AGAINST THE WAR, and AGAINST THE PATRIOT ACT, joking that it was an interesting name PATRIOT ACT...(nothing patriotic about it).......that he knew, "Saddam was a bad guy, but that there are hundreds of other bad guys, and I don't think Saddam was a real threat, as they made him out to be....our occupation of Afganistan, however, is necessary, at least for the time being....we will continue to support our military, it should remain strong, concerned with equipping our soldiers with life saving body armor they need, and has not been adequate, along with better vehicles, etc., we didn't need to build more navy ships, or other aircraft, since we have enough already....there has been TOO MUCH MILITARY SPENDING TO INDUSTRIES THAT SUPPLY aircraft/vessels, etc.

Everyone towering over her all the time...

She looks a little "fat around the bum" too...
Maybe that's why she was making those "bra" references

It was an inadvertant defensive posture triggered by the subconcious to

I was at Mike's event this afternoon...thank you very much!
Always plenty of spies at these events.
bitter...Mike talked about health care & explained the complexities of the bill, said he will continue to fight for it & lots of other issues we face today.
"I want to change the world", he said.
I was really impressed with him-his honestly stands out, he shared experiences while debating with fellow members on both sides in Congress, while maintaining a civil relationship with all. He said he likes people, gets to know them, their families, their demographics, so when they debate about climate change, he understands why those who live in towns of steel and coal factories vote as they do.
He struck a cord with me: He entered Somerville High with a class of 1100, graduated with only a class of 400, of the 400, only 100 went to college.
Proves that anyone can succeed regardless of their lack of opportunities, but even he admits, can be a battle.

What a joke the state Republican Committee is. I swear this is the first time I've seen this guy'sname in print in a month! He may be a great candidate, but all I know about him is who he's married to and who his daughter is.
How about this Scott: tell me who you are and what you stand for, tell me why you should be elected, and most importantly, ASK ME FOR MY VOTE!
This silence from the state repubs tells me loud and clear that they've thrown in the towel.

Just one more, about the escalating home insurance premiums for working residents of Cape Cod--if you don't mind inquiring and reporting back to jane who has the following question:
"Division of Insurance and rating bureaus could all do a better job at regulating the insurance industry in general and the MA Fair Plan in particular.
Our Legislators caused the homeowner insurance problem by voting Chapter 436 of the Acts of 2004 into law and have done nothing to correct their mistake".
We'll be waiting for a reply and I know jane, our fellow commentator, will be very appreciative. thanks!

Before everyone runs off and gets in lock step with general dogma, let me point out that this guy has a record serving as a Selectman, a State Rep and a State Senator. You might want to see what he's actually done and what he, specifically, stands for before you get reflexive.
The reason we are in this mess is that Washington has plenty of crooks and ideologues from both sides of the aisle who are more interested in PACs money and dogma than in serving you and I (and that means everyone, not just you or I)

Tell Murray what you think about high homeowner insurance rates with HUGE wind (not just hurricane) deductibles.
Better yet, attend the meeting and ask why five years later she still has not done anything to bring relief from high premiums which are her fault for recommending Chapter 436 of the Acts of 2004 - which incrased the rate caps on the Cape and Islands causing 25% annual rate increases.

O'Leary has tried a few things but has accomplished NOTHING.
The point is, if the Legislators hadn't voted in Ch. 436 of the Acts of 2004 there would be no need for corretive legislation.
They passed a Bill which at the time didn't look like it would effect coastal homeowners. They didn't consider the possible consequences of the Bill if the Fair Plan started writing a lot of homeowner coverage on the coast.
Then the non-renewals started and tada... the Cape and Islands became a "large share territory" not subject to the same annual rate caps as other Fair Plan policyholders.
As far as being in danger for speaking my mind - so be it.
So I guess if I end up in dumpster somewhere Therese Murray and Robert O'Leary will be the prime suspects...?
Is this America or China?

jane,
I had read that O'Leary was working on this as well, right? I'd like to see many lose their seats in office, both democrats and republicans. It really is on both sides, as some of us have come to learn and all about the bottom line.
Well, I do wish you luck, just be careful. Sometimes when you fight back, you can bring unwanted attention and trouble your way. For some reason, your story brought back something I heard about that took place in Plymouth. A political opponent was ambushed at his residence. Honestly, I can't recall who it was, but it happened and let back to supporters of the other candidate. Some people play very dirty politics when there is a race involved. It's nice to see someone else who isn't burying her head in the sand just to go along. Wish you the best.

crusader-Most (like my self) who have their homeowner coverage through the MA Fair Plan do not own waterfront property. The fact a house is on Cape Cod makes it "coastal" in the eyes of the insurance industry.
If Therese Murray had considered the consequences of Ch. 436 of the Acts of 2004,the Fair Plan's rates couldn't increase by 25% a year as they did three years in a row.
Murray and her cronnies caused this problem and here it is close to six years later and they've done nothing to ease the burden of high premiums and high wind deductibles.
The only action with results has been citizen activism.
Murray should be voted out of office.

jane,
I wish you luck. Unfortunately, the insurance industry has become a dominate force few politicians will challenge. Although, I am very pleased the AG(TM's supporter)has finally taken a stronger stand against the predatory lending industry, millions have already lost their homes due to their ignoring the problem until it effected state budgets. As long as lobbyists continue to influence, and efforts for campaign reform stall, not much will change. The fact that the Cape has not had a hurricane in 30 years factor's into the equation. Insurance companies are only in the business to make huge profits, like banks. If a fierce hurricane were to hit the coastal communities, think of massive profits they would lose. That's the reality of it, unfortunately. I never realized just how much it costs to have ocean property. Now that the insurance companies refuse to provide adequate coverage, or any at all, you wonder if it's all worth it?

Please join me picketing Therese Murray on 10/23/09 at the Sandwich Glass Museum. Murray needs to know what you think of her promoting Chapter 436 of the Acts of 2004 which caused the high Fair Plan rates and wind deductibles on the Cape and Islands. Murray needs to know what you think of her taking no action to bring premium and deductible relief to coastal homeowners.

Therese Murray is responsible for the coastal homeowner insurance crisis. Murray gave the green light to Chapter 436 of the Acts of 2004 when she was Chair of the Ways and Means Committee.
After supporting the Bill which allowed the Fair Plan rates to increase as much as 25% a year, she has and does not plan to do anything to advocate on behalf of coastal homeowners.
Do not reward Murray for increasing your homeowner insurance by over 75% in the past three years.
Vote Murray out of office at the next election.

Here in Arizona a writer wrote, commenting on our Senator Jon Kyl, working on the Health bill voted NO to basic maternity benefits. His reason he stated was to protect the public and cut costs !!!
The writer wrote,"Since when did women not be part of the public? Of course he is protecting the insurance companies.
My best friend just married a wonderful lady with epilepsy, who is on medication, still experiences characteristic convulsive episodes. She has no health insurance!! Her Husband now can include her on his insurance plan to the tune of $290 dollars a month.
His back and other health problems belong in the American Medical Journal. The strong religious people that they are will help each other, I am sure, as dedicated as they are.
My point is for citizens demeaning what our President is trying to do.
A 4 month old infant was denied insurance because he was too big in weight for his age. An aid ran into a OR, during an operation, saying patient has no insurance.
To all those against our President's health plan, call your insurance company before going through a procedure.
The writer wrote,"Since when did women not be part of the public? Of course he is protecting the insurance companies.

My point is for citizens demeaning what our President is trying to do.
A 4 month old infant was denied insurance because he was too big in weight for his age. An aid ran into a OR, during an operation, saying patient has no insurance.
