"Acting with President Obama's authorization and in the belief that the hostage, Capt. Richard Phillips, was in imminent danger of being killed by captors armed with pistols and AK-47s, snipers on the fantail of the destroyer Bainbridge, which was towing the lifeboat on a 100-foot line, opened fire and picked off the three captors.
Two of the captors had poked their heads out of a rear hatch of the lifeboat, exposing themselves to clear shots, and the third could be seen through a window in the bow, pointing an automatic rifle at the captain, who was tied up inside the 18-foot lifeboat, senior Navy officials said.
It took only three remarkable shots - one each by snipers firing from a distance at dusk, using night-vision scopes, the officials said."

Full ID helps interpret comments
A March 20 article about a public meeting held by the Cape Cod Commission reported comments made by Mark Weissman, who identified himself as a board member of the Massachusetts Marine Fisheries Commission.
Mr. Weissman stated that Cape Wind’s final environmental impact report neglected to mention dredging Horseshoe Shoal, which Mr. Weissman incorrectly claimed would be needed to create access for a construction barge used in installing the wind turbines. Mr. Weissman went on to speculate about damage such dredging would cause.
The reason Cape Wind’s final environmental impact report makes no mention of dredging Horseshoe Shoal is that no dredging is needed for a construction barge to access the wind turbine locations.
When Mark Weissman introduced himself at this event as a public official, he neglected to also mention that he is a paid consultant to the Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound.

This morning I spoke with Mr. Andy Arnault of the Town of Yarmouth’s Buildings & Inspections department. He is in charge of signage & enforcement… He says that NO BODY has the right to place signs on the town owned property.
Signs such as political signs during elections are allowed on town property (outside of I think- 150’ of the voting area) the day of the election… Otherwise NO other signage temporary or otherwise is allowed or permitted.
I asked if anyone could remove the signs… He did not recommend it as he thought it could result in possible confrontations and did not advise it – he could not stop us but would rather have the PD or the town take appropriate action.
In the future it would be advisable for "good citizens' to contact his office ahead of time to alert him and he will take appropriate action to see the ordinance is enforced.

In response to: What Does it Mean to be a Democrat?
.. The sharpest illustration of culture clash came in the Fourth Barnstable primaries to replace Rep. Shirley Gomes, who chose to remain uninvolved in the primaries. Chatham candidates Andy Buckley and Ron Bergstrom came late to the race, compared to their opponents, who had been campaigning since last fall. Ray Gottwald, the more conservative Democrat, lost, as did Don Howell, the more liberal Republican 9 (although a recount is in progress).
The two final contenders come from the edges of their parties. While both are gay, they could not be further apart on issues. Sarah Peake supports gay marriage, while Aaron Maloy opposes it. Maloy is strongly pro-life, while Sarah Peake is pro-choice. Indeed, both candidates saw a strong degree of out-of-district donations as the Right and Left turn the race into a chess match dominated by larger forces, not necessarily of primary concern to Fourth Barnstable voters.
Or was that Peter Porcupine?

As far as I’m concerned they are a huge waste of time but since you have a blog with potential comments you will continue to be plagued.
