DENNIS -- An Alzheimer's patient who was reported missing last night was found dead this morning after his car plunged into the water on the west side of Sesuit Harbor.
Edward Donovan, 78, of Lower County Road, West Dennis, was found inside his white Ford Focus around 10:30 this morning.
Donovan, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, had been reported missing after he did not arrive at an appointment in Brewster Friday night.
It appears Donovan may have gotten confused driving and steered his sedan off the town boat ramp before it plunged into the cold water, according to a Dennis police sergeant.
Donovan had recently seen his doctor and was approved to drive, police said.
A 911 caller reported seeing Donovan's car in the water at 10:30 a.m. today.
The Mid-Cape dive team was on the scene around 1 p.m. today helping a tow company pull the car from the water.
No foul play is suspected.

But as time has gone on the Cape has become this place either for the Rich or Low income. In my opinion there is really no place for the middle income. Clubs have closed, the towns make it very hard to open new businesses, teenagers do not work the jobs I did when I was a teenager. So, when you bring in such diversity to sustain life here and to survive, along come problems, such as drugs, violence, weapons, etc.

In response to: Driver Medflighted from Yarmouth crash today; Harwich multiple rollover
Also you must remember the town in which Med-Flight maybe calle for. Ground transportation let's say from P-Towm to CCH is an easy 45 plus minute ride. Where as if Med-Flight is available they onlt need to fly across Cape Cod Bay in 10-15 minutes an d be on the way to Boston. So, towns like Yamrouth, Hyannis, Dennis which have a shorter transport time to CCH may call for Med-Flight and have them land at CCH. When this happens, the pt. maybe brought to CCH intially to be further stablized and given further pain meds.
If at a MVC where the pt. is trapped and Med-Flight is requested and the the extrication time is going to be lenghty then they can land near the scene until the pt. is extricated.

I am the first one who pushes the envelope and live on the edge at times. However there have been times when Monpo's comments have pushed over the edge. I happen to know the male victim of the accident and the comment made was NOT FUNNY in my opinion. If that was your brother, father, etc YOU would not have liked the comment either.

The Cape back in the late 70's and 80's was PACKED with tourists, not so much nowadays due to the economy and really the lack of things for families to do. Northern New England has over the past 15 years or so dumped all kinds of money t draw people up north and it's working. We need to change our attitudes here politically wise to draw more here. We all hate traffic, but the $ brings the better for the Cape.

Now as far as asking them this Century, I really don't know where you are going with that. Are you saying that the SP does not agree with the Cape Team? Does the SP have people on the Cape readily available to respond to any town if needed?
