An architecturally inspired design build collaborative of an architect, a builder, and a landscaper which offers an all-in-one solution to your home design needs. (Yarmouth)
Here to help you with all the details that make an event truly memorable and special. We both live full-time on Cape Cod and enjoy promoting all the wonderful and unique locations and vendors who represent the Cape so well. (Hyannis)

While he lives, Governor Patrick at the behest of President Obama, would have to appoint Kennedy's hand picked replacement. In effect, Ted gets to pick the next Senator.
In response to: Obama to visit Kennedy; Hurricane Bill coming; Tribe isn’t getting money from investors; Cape wins Babe Ruth series opener; Truro teacher's deep sea adventure; Island supports wind farm; Obama boom on Vineyard
Otherwise, Rhode Islanders would be just the selfish bastards that our local swells are.

In response to: Cape Cod private schools ride out the recession
Quick, what's the best public high school on Cape Cod? Sorry, that was a trick question.
What we have now is a circle of mediocrity. Mediocre students graduating from mediocre high schools going to mediocre colleges getting mediocre degrees and coming back to teach in the same mediocre schools.
In response to: Was Tomaselli shot for a drug deal gone sour?
In response to: Same old, same old at Cape Cod Commission
While we're on the subject, the new Airport Manager didn't aquit himself well either. His opposition to Cape Wind is in direct contradiction to the support of it by Dan Wolf, the biggest carrier of air passengers and pilots that will be flying over the wind farm. If he's not worried, what's Bud Breault worried about? The air traffic controllers comfortably seated back at the tower?
In response to: Local non-profits mostly transparent on executive salaries
You can also check with Barnstable County,(FIA)because they receive substantial public funding, they would have to disclose salary information. You can also ask the members of her Business Roundtable how much she makes.
If we all knew how much Maggie Giest made, or how much John O'Brien is getting paid to lobby, the outrage would be similar to that of AIG's bonuses.
In response to: What was I thinking?
What do you say? Are we all invited? So we can have a discussion? And reach a consensus?
Please don't forget to tell us in your next blog if you're running for re-election in 2010.
We have to start processing your positions in that context.
In response to: You say your not satisfied, you want more for your money...well what are you "gonna" do?
Advising anyone that they should spend with the optimism that they can eventually afford to pay for it, may work if you have the authority to tax, but it's not a good idea for the rest of us. Let's remember that's how we got into this mess in the first place.
But I suspect these middle schoolers had no clue what you were talking about. Come to think of it, neither do I.
In response to: Listening Tour
Listening tour my ass!
In response to: Homeschool is Cool on Cape Cod
Amazing that this homeschooler went public. There is such antipathy* (homeschooled vocabulary word) for them by the public school districts. I'm sure there will be retribution* (that's another one.)
In my opinion, parents who homeschool should be given a stipend. After all, they're saving the taxpayers $8000 a year per student.
* Substitute hate and pay-back.

In response to: Red Cross honors police officer involved in fatal shooting
In a 3 months period Van Ness rushed into a burning building, stopping a susptected DUIs at gunpoint, and shot an unarmed illegal alien. Sounds like this guy is hopped up on adrenaline all the time.
Saved one then offed one. Like Seinfeld says, he's even steven.

Why does everyone insist on waxing nostalgic about "Olde Cape Cape" anyway. PSD is building what their new monied clients want and what the zoning and building codes allow. Now if you want a real page turner pick up the Cape Cod 5 Cents Savings Bank annual report. Not only does it have pictures of old houses, but old money too.

In response to: Town of Barnstable and Developer Stuart Bornstein Talking
Bornstein bought the porperty to develop it. The village and town has thwarted him at every turn. So now they will proceed to the inevitable town buying the land to "protect" it from development.
The Town and State (thank you Mr. O'Leary) taxpayers will now pay dearly for the NIMBYism of a few. Not only will they have to come with $3-5M to buy the land, but will forgo the $25-40K a year in property taxes.

There once was a lecher from Nantucket,

When she spurned his advances and

He cried, it's time for payback now and endorsed the other candidate.

The evacuation signs are a hoot. Everyone knows in a true emergency, n-o o-n-e i-s g-o-i-n-g a-n-y-w-h-e-r-e.
BC Bill, if you are going to put a task force together to look into this, the last people you should put on it are the planners and politicians. How about just some some regular folk.
