What is the big dang deal about this vacation being taken at a bad time? HELLO!
The children have to go back to school soon!
Besides that, isn't a vacation about relaxing for a short time, in order to be more productive when you go back to work?
I for one vote for a more relaxed & focused president, as opposed to a burnt out leader that can't see straight because he is tired!

Honestly, I can see why the number of crashes are up on Cape Cod.
Last week, my hubby & I were in N. Truro/Provincetown area, traveling back & forth to Wellfleet, Harwich, Eastham, etc. People used to be so nice, wave you on if you had to make a left turn....not so any more! There were several instances where I was tailgated so close doing about 55mph, that I could have had a conversation with the lady behind me....if only I knew better sign language, maybe I would have understood what the shaking fists in the air meant! This was in a 40mph zone. What is up with this type of agressive driving? This was NOT an isolated incident either, last year when we came up for vacation, everyone was laid back, very pleasant, what a rude awakening!

Wow! Are all of you on hypertension medicatio? My blood pressure was rising just reading your comments! Seriously, do you think that our little piece of EDEN is not going to feel the pinch of what is going on all over our great country? Reality check....drugs are everywhere, they always have been, except now you have young people with guns making their own justice. Cleverville does not exist. Even back in the 1950's there were drugs....just not as widely publicized as it is today. Perhaps the police agencies will open their eyes to the need for special task forces & beefed up swat teams, so we can get back to the business of being quiet & quaint.

In response to: The seasonal tide of the tourists
Rather ironic how your tale unfolds. I have been vacationing (off season) for twenty eight years in Cape Cod. To me, it is an idyllic retreat from my hectic life in small business. I cherish every single second, am very respectful of this haven, and I'm truly grateful when I gaze upon the ocean.
You see, I live in a summer tourist town as well, but we live on the Great Lake ERIE, which is not quite as wonderful as Cape Cod. It is similar, as we get rude tourists too, but they bring in a very good chunk of change into our economy, as we tourists do to Cape Cod. I'm glad we don't come in summer....we have the place pretty much to ourselves. Now if we could get the Travel Channel to stop telling people how great it is in off season.....

According to the signs around town in P-Town, "This is a No Hate Community", I cannot believe the tolerence that has been exhibited toward these random acts of angry pettiness.
The reason that my husband & I come to P-Town every fall, is the relaxed lifestlye, & attitude that everone has. I am saddened that this year we will have to be aware of possible landscaping inconsistencies, as well as screaming matches on the streets.
Last I checked, this is still America, where we are allowed to have our own opinion.

In response to: The Best Fried Clams on Cape Cod
Kreme'n Kone in Dennis by far has the best fried clams...wicked good! A close second to Moby Dick's in Wellfleet. Can't get clams like that where I come from, only on The Cape!
