I in fact would hire someone with facial piercings if they were the most capable in performing the duties of their position. If I hire someone because their physical appearance is more pleasing to a select number of customers it would be more detrimental to the establishment because I will then have to turn around and spend MY time training them on how to properly perform the job for which they applied.

You say that my customers wouldn't trust or buy from this person, if they're coming into the establishment to receive goods or services provided by said establishment the physical appearance of my staff should not hold precedence over the quality of said goods and services. If that is the case then their patronage to this hypothetical establishment is not wanted.

It appears to me that capemom is a negative extremeist. Clearly, facial piercings mean you are incapible of doing anything above menial work at an hourly wage that is less than compensating for your efforts. And apparently Capemom was the only person who received that memo, that we know of.

And Capemom, I'd loosen the knot of the sweater around your neck just a little if I were you. I'm sure that if a crowd of them came upon you they'd think you were a yuppy with a stick up your butt. But that's just speculation on my part.

As a young member of the Cape Cod community I would just like to point out that options of recreational entertainment for the under 21 crowd are limited. Unless you’re lucky enough to have connections that allow you to become belligerently drunk during the off-season, you have three options. Movies, the mall and bowling; I vaguely remember there being a youth center in Barnstable about 10 years ago, and for those of you who don’t know where it was its now housing the marina museum in Hyannis next to the marina.

The mall is the one FREE place that the teenage population of Cape Cod has to congregate and hang out and simply been teenagers during the off season. I’d be surprised if anyone reading this was shocked by that statement. All I’m trying to say is, until the individual towns on The Cape decide funding a youth center is “worth it”, the mall is going to be the, for back of a better phrase, breeding ground for the teenage population.
