Well anyway, I wish you all a wonderful holiday. I'm off to FL for the winter to spend BS's $5,000 on gas for my boat. Jack C., I shall miss your thought provoking, instigating blogs. Peter, Thanks for the education on our native neighbors. Buzz, keep up the reality checks ;) BLT, you are a hoot!:)It's been real, and thanks for the use of the hall.

Cru;The obvious reason for the Times deleting posts, is the fact they don't tolerate you and BS making insane comments. Now you say you do this for Christa. You're writing her story????You were branded crazy, long before CM murdered Christa.I know this from reliable Truro sources whom I cannot name.Their lives could be in danger if I were to reveal their identity, and then they might have to flee the Cape.
Please, you did not even know the woman let her RIP.

“Let us say to the immigrant not that we hope he will learn English, but that he has got to learn it. Let the immigrant who does not learn it go back. He has got to consider the interest of the United States or he should not stay here. He must be made to see that his opportunities in this country depend upon his knowing English and observing American standards. The employer cannot be permitted to regard him only as an industrial asset.
“We must in every way possible encourage the immigrant to rise, help him up, give him a chance to help himself. If we try to carry him he may well prove not well worth carrying. We must in turn insist upon his showing the same standard of fealty to this country and to join with us in raising the level of our common American citizenship.
Now there is some American History worth repeating.

"Though Friedman said the Stolen Valor Act has given law enforcement officials “the tools they need” to prosecute phonies by including language so broad that “even making false oral "claims can be actionable,” cases such as those of Marshall and Foxx illustrate the leeway fakers still have under the law."
In response to: Surprise write-in candidate: guess who
And the growing backlash against fakers isn’t limited to those who are committing crimes. Former Lance Cpl. Glenn Marshall, 57, of Mashpee, Mass., hasn’t broken the law under the Stolen Valor Act, but was forced to step down as leader of the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian tribe after embellishments about his service in Vietnam were exposed by newspapers in Cape Cod, Mass., and New London, Conn.
Marshall never claimed unearned awards, but during his push to gain federal recognition for his tribe, he publicly touted himself as “a hero of Khe Sanh” to reporters, politicians and government officials.

I pay my health ins (BBS of MA) out of pocket. The new plan worked out at $100 less a month and $5 bucks off my $15 copays, no deductible on hospitalization, same drug bennies. No dental. So,on the Ma plan instead of $875 a month,I pay $775 a month $9,300 per year plus copays. A wonderful tax write off. I'd really like to be a legal pot farmer and get govt. subsidies for when the rain drowns my crop, or the drought makes it wither, or they pay me not to grow, or buy me out ;) Any of those ought to cover my health insurance bill and also supply me with a less harmful drug than my present legal prescriptions!!!! :)

You might try hummingbird feeders too. I hang two on my porch.(don't add red food coloring, it's bad for them) For some reason I had tons of them this season, and they didn't leave until 1st week of October. They aren't timid in the least. I sit on the porch and they come right up to me before hitting the feeders. I found I get a lot more species in winter by hanging suet blocks and a variety of seeds and I keep water out there for them year round. A beautiful Japanese crab apple fed the robins all winter, but Noel took two pines down and crushed the Crab apple. Wild honeysuckle has berries they seem to love too. I'm off to FL, this winter and will miss my birds & critters here. I already do, as I had to stop feeding them , so they would find a new source :( Maybe they found their way to your yards :)

There were no Indian battles or famine. The early 1800s were a prosperous time for Cape Cod with shipping, ship building, whaling, fishing, salt, farming etc.I would imagine there were plenty of characters with stories to tell. The train came to Cape Cod in 1887. Lincoln was 17 years old. The train brought the wealthy summer people and the resort area began.Ptown became an art community. Nature itself, was why they came. Reality.

Here is another FACT just for you; I have not stated my opinion on guilt or innocence. I was not present at the murder scene. Had I followed the trial in person, I would have made an opinion on the FACTS presented in the trial.
The comments you continually spew on the case, is simply blogarrhea.

"Another difference between the 1989 and 2004 constitutions is that the voting age increased
from 16 to 18 years old. The 2002 membership list shows there were 1,232 members over age
16 in 2004 and eligible to vote under the previous constitution. Fifty of the 1,232 were between
the ages of 16 and 18. By changing the voting age in the 2004 constitution those 50 voters who were 16 -18 years old, lost their voting rights for the next 2 years."

Migratory birds do fly over Nantucket Sound. You don't really think the birds follow that red line like we follow a white line on the highway do you? Not only that being a point, so is weather, wind, food, and resting areas, a factor in their flight. You are beyond ridiculous Jack. Have you been on a plane that changed course due to weather? Have you ever been on a boat that altered course due to weather conditions? Have you been on the highway and gotten off for food or a rest at a motel? Hmmmm isn't that off course? Birds eat and sleep too, on Cape Cod, on Nantucket and On Martha's Vineyard, by way of Nantucket Sound.

I once met a tree hugger by a lake in VT. She arrived in an very old gas guzzling , polluting, old Ford pick up, with her kayak. We were camping near the waters edge. She proceeded to lecture us on proper camping and not using soap to bathe in the river. Mind you, she had no evidence that we had, or even intended to. I looked at her truck and asked her how much carbon monoxide that thing was expelling into the air, and how much fuel did it burn. Her reply "well I had to get my kayak here. I don't believe in motorized boats, they pollute the waters."

I have not implied anything of the kind. I have no problem stating my opinions. If you wish to think you have a magic power of reading between the lines, sorry to disappoint you. You don't. Heck you can't even read the quote that was in the post written to you.
The people who should suffer, are those that are indeed the crooks that have been robbing the tribe and those that have backed them (and still do) in their endeavors. Not me, not Peter, or news-gal . In my opinion, I do think the tribe will rid themselves of these crooks and their followers. Every last one of them. Then I wonder what some of these followers/supporters will be posting. Will they be playing the victim card from jail cells?

You were hostile in the post I originally responded to. Then claimed to be sensitive and changed your attitude in the posts that followed. Sadly, now you are back at it again.
My people had a plight of their own which lasted from 1667-2005. I do understand the plight of the Native Americans. I support the quest of the Native Americans to regain what was theirs and I support the casino. You are attacking people that are on the tribes side here. That chip on your shoulder attitude, is not helping you gain support from those that oppose you. Perhaps you might read up on public relations instead of watching Judge Judy.
In response to: Uncertainty remains over whether Mashpee Wampanoag will revive land suit
The only hostility I see here is from keesuq's statements. I just don't think Keesuq is doing the tribe any favors touting past history with the white man, and the mother earth approach certainly is a contradiction.
I am for the casino. I feel it will benefit many people and businesses from all walks of life. Sometimes while pondering the grand scheme of things, I have brilliant ideas for new businesses, Perhaps retiring at 48 was too soon! I should come out of retirement lol The opportunities are endless. Everyone needs to work together on this, as it will benefit all. Can we sing "We Are The World" now? *wink* :)

"Let's just suppose a man could carry a fetus. So, he decides to have an abortion for what ever reason, but they are once again illegal."
Maybe the question asking is the man a life convieniently passed over your head too.
In response to: Women v. Rhetoric
Opposite of misogyny is misandry.
It's not about women??? When was the last time a man carried a child and gave birth, miscarried, or had an abortion? Let's just suppose a man could carry a fetus. So, he decides to have an abortion for what ever reason, but they are once again illegal. His option would be a coat hanger inserted through his penis by untrained persons, unsanitary conditions, the chance of dying, bleeding to death, infection, as this coat hanger is shoved through his delicate penis trying to grab the fetus etc.Do I hear an ouch? So, you are saying it would not be about men. Isn't this man carrying the fetus a life?Is he a dead alien or something vs a life???
Thank you Katy, for a very well written and informative article.

Demo you seriously need to read posts several times prior to replying, as you are not comprehending what is said.( not on just this post, I see a pattern with all your posts) The funny stuff is you ranting nonsense. The questions I asked you, which you could not answer, point to the fact you have not a clue about what you are talking about. Not only don't you have answers, the points I brought up never entered your mind, the author of the blog. DUH..Of course they are good questions, common sense.Lay offs, closures happen every day.You never have an answer to anyone's questions in replies to these posts you come up with.Authors posting a blog on an issue & people protesting normaly have some background/research at the least common sense, before they open their mouth.bye bye
In response to: When businesses behave badly
Do you happen to know how many of those 130 people who you say lost their jobs, will be moving or commuting to Middleboro? Do you happen to know how many employees have advanced since the take over and how many have moved on to open the new stores? How many of the 130 have taken other positions right here on Cape with the company? My guess is you don't know shit, but carry on if you must. However, you might try some LSD. Protesters on drugs have made more factual and sensible statements than you do.
In response to: When businesses behave badly
Give it a rest Demo. With expansion comes advancement for those who seek it.

So, bottom line is, you find differing opinions a threat. You believe message boards should be ill-informed banter with everyone in
agreement >>>> with you that is. You have described yourself perfectly in your above ramble. This thread not being the only example of your behavior of course and Demo's.

Solon, is Kathy motivated by sex, drugs, or food?
sex: There is a really gorgeous reggae band, all Jamaicans, that plays for hours every day by the pool. There is a hairy chest contest beside the pool which is funny.
drugs: the bars are open like all the time. Cute Filipino guys bring you exotic cocktails.
food: really good on this ship. It's good on all cruise ships, really--look how many fatties go.
So, CapeMom, in reference to your continual fattie comments, should we picture the skinnies being older mothers, trying to be young, slopping up exotic cocktails, and trying to have exotic sex with young island boys? I mean seeing you figure the fatties are there for the food.
