Why would you arrest a 64 year old female for op. unlicensed?

Good god, look at those three losers in the sin bin picture. Nice ink...you three are exactly whats wrong with this country. Losers - all of you who were involved in this.

Out of the 165 "calls" they had, how many were for barking dogs and beach parking complaints? I'm guessing 100?

What exactly did you enjoy about the story? Are you a duck killer too? Do you enjoy reading about decapitations? Would you like some duck l'orange with your coffee??

Are you kidding me? A duck died and this is news? Good god - get a life. We eat ducks for gods sake.

Van Ness transfered to YPD because he got laid off in Harwich - nothing more, nothing less...budget cuts in Harwich. Martins was locked up before this incident, but as usual the courts let him walk.

The red cross chose to Honor a hero for running into a burning building and this Sniffin says "I would think that the experience with the immigrant community should temper their decision to nominate such a person." - and, we have yet another idiot reporter who sought out a comment from the Brazilian community in an effort to sour this honor for a hero. Shame, shame, shame.

C'mon, people don't post what they really feel in online forums. We write sh1t just to get a rise out of everyone. Of course I think these guys did a great job and are heroes - but that's obvious. We posters prefer to stir the pot a bit and get you to react to it - glad to see you didn't let us down and you don't know anything about me - I have saved more lives than you will ever know, so don't jump to conclusions.

I hate to tell you guys this but the YPD has been decimated since the schools stole that 1.5 million from everyone. They are short 5 officers and have no resources to patrol wooded trails - sorry to tell you all this. Go whine to Carol Woodbury.

oh, I didn't realize that...now that you say it the blinking lights did look cool.

I just watched that video - there goes one minute and 3 seconds of my life that I will never get back. That video added nothing to this story.

ummmm....ya think maybe the YPD sends press releases to this site and none of the other towns do?

They have already cut 2 and a third is coming. Good luck YPD - keep up the good work.

I think it's safe to assume Andy is not a crash recon guy - he can't even read the story for gods sake - it clearly says: "A Mitsubishi Montero rolled over and wound right side up in the woods. "

Hey Pat, here's a tip - instead of tying up traffic trying to get that killer shot - why don't you move along?? Looks like you really pissed off 3 troopers...

How about paying attention when you drive?

Look at the jerk in the pathfinder parked right under a no parking sign - if he wasn't there maybe the motorcyclist could have used that lane - JERK!

I'm no expert, Buzz...but I'm pretty sure that's not a mug shot - I think it is a composite drawing which is based on the witnesses description.

"That lady in the picture has fake boobs...and I've noticed a lot of that around here too lately. Another downfall of the 21st century if you ask me.....fake everything."

"First of all -- enough with the snippy personal nature of your posts."

ha, you fired the first shot with "I knew someone like you would chime in"

What exactly did you mean, "someone like me" - did you mean someone who actually thinks the bad guy should be caught, punished and blamed for what happened? Did you mean someone who doesn't rush to blame the police for doing the job we pay them to do? If that's what you meant - fine, you can label me "a person like that.

Now, lets talk about your about face - you just wrote: "The chase story was NOT my husband's personal interpretation of the scene (and by the way, the cars weren't PARKED, they were littering the intersection)."

But in your first post you clearly wrote: "From what he observed (the position of the state police car, the car that caused the accident, and the victims cars), the police chase story looked pretty obvious to him" - seems to me that was your "husband's personal interpretation of the scene"....... which is it??

...your turn :)
07/18/07 @ 6:22 am
"They crashed the gate to get out...not in the base."

You're correct, they did crash the gate to escape. This was after they blew past the security checkpoint (entrance) manned by uniformed personel and about a million red signs that say to stop for security. Which they didn't - but hey it's only a military compound in a post 9/11 world. The Police must have been out of their mind to try to stop them.

P.S. I'm still waiting for your answer, what would it take to justify a Police Pursuit in your mind?
07/17/07 @ 8:23 pm
My mistake, bobcat...I didn't realize your husband was the one that could tell from PARKED cars that a chase had occured, he is definately a skilled accident reconstructionist....but lets put that aside for a minute while I ask you this, what would have to happen in your opinion to allow the Police to actually pursue someone and try to apprehend them? I actually would like you to answer this....
07/17/07 @ 8:17 pm
"I knew someone like you would chime in -- all I can say is that you weren't there and know a whole lot less about what happened to cause the crash than those that were."

You are right I wasn't there - were you??? All I am saying is that if someone crashes a gate at a freeking military compound, they need to be caught, do you agree with that or do you disagree with that??

I obviously do not want innocent people to be killed, but I also do not want someone who crashes a gate at a military compound to escape and do further harm to innocent people - do you?? and you my friend know the old saying...hindsight is 20/20
07/16/07 @ 10:09 pm
ok - I think we have gone far enough with this topic...thanks for the lively debate...see you on the next one :)
07/16/07 @ 8:39 pm
"Because if we were free, we would have a right to know where and how the military spends tax dollars. Ever hear of the "black budget"?"

It's black for a reason, you are not in the military, you don't know how to run a military, and you do not know how to defend a country... and you DO NOT have a right to know - cuz if you did, so too would the enemy.....your statements prove to us you are not a warrior and all you would do is weaken a nation.
07/16/07 @ 7:11 pm
"In some cases they flee because they have an expired registration, or driving on a suspend license."

That is the reason for the stop but they are most times hiding much more than that, like a shotgun...

http://hyannisnews.com/Greater-Hyannis-Cape-Cod/illegal_firearms_07152007.html

Hmmmm....he is not allowed to have a gun because of a restraining order, I wonder where he was going?? Who knows, maybe to kill the plaintiff on the order??? But you are right, they should't try to catch them, it's safer to just respond to the future crime scene.

This story was on our site too:

"Why are normal citizens not allowed into Otis, anyway? what are they hiding in there? And please, in this day and age, don't tell us to believe the police just because it's the police. This needs an honest investigation."

You are right - we should let anyone that want to come into a military compound do so, unfettered. There should be no guards and no fences...let everyone do whatever they please...cuz it is, after all a free country....Did you actually read what you wrote, Bittersweet??
07/16/07 @ 7:00 pm
"Who's lives would have contributed more to society? The musician and cab driver or the scumbag in the SUV? Guess who's still alive to talk about it?
"

Maybe the police should stop doing their job, because the bad guys end up running and killing people...lets let the police just respond to all these accident scenes and stop all this foolishness of trying to actually CATCH some bad people
07/16/07 @ 5:28 pm
"From what he observed (the position of the state police car, the car that caused the accident, and the victims cars), the police chase story looked pretty obvious to him."

So let me get this straight - from the position of 3 PARKED cars he could determine that they had been chased?? He really should get a job with the State Police Accident Recon team - cuz he has some mad skillz. So, here we go again - lets blame the Police instead of the Jerk that CRASHED through a military perimeter and then took off at an insanely high speed. Even had the police pursued this vehicle - they would have been justified in doing so.
07/14/07 @ 7:43 pm
I cant believe how many people I see riding their bikes on Rt. 28 going "against" traffic...don't they know how dangerous this is??? When someone is about to pull out of a side street onto Rt. 28, lets say to take a right turn, they look to their left to see if they can pull out. Sometimes they have to creep out to accomplish this, but they ARE NOT looking to their right - yet. Well, here comes a blonde hottie from Belarus going against traffic and - boom she hits the side of his car...all cuz she is going against traffic...people please, follow the rules of the road
