Credibility ? There is none left with the Nobel Committee. The troubling part is there were 205 people nominated. 205 that actually did something, and only history will reveal the real sadness of this award as the nominees are kept secret for 50 years. The Nobel Committee does no deny that past recipients were awarded the prize based on accomplishments, they also agreed that Obama's message of hope proved very persuasive in the final decision. This sickens many, obviously they have not been keeping any eye on Obama's accomplishments he "Hoped" to pass by pulling attempting to pull the wool over the American publics eyes. Not that it is related, but what a surprise. Just days before the award the Nobel Peace Prize to the Messiah, it is reported a serious financial scandal involving the Nobel Committee, hell, Obama should feel right at home with this award.
Deliberations for the former honor goes on for months in most cases involving a tremendous amount of research, so much for that. Other reported names this year included Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro. They fit well with(cont next entry)

Americas credibility continues to crumble. The funny part it appears he was nominated for this two weeks after being elected ! Two weeks ! He hadn't even shared his bull with all the toilets in the Whitehouse in this period of time. God help us all, oh that;s right you can't say that. Allah help us all is all that is allowed now!

Although the fans of O'Leary seem to be sliding down the slope as well, one has to wonder. Most issue evolve around the almighty dollar. Another staunch Democrat, Congressman Delahunt I'm sure would have some impact with a little tweek or insinuation about funding cuts to the Army Corp for the lack of study done relating to work times. To insinuate that no one has control over work schedules is an insult to the intelligence of anyone with any knowledge of construction. RFP's , as well as bids, followed by their awards can be written specifying work times and schedules. Many such contracts specify hours of work and are priced by the recipient of the contract accordingly. More lip service is all your going to see and get, speaking of Delahunt, he has been silent on several issues as of late. Must not be considering any public exposure, you know how crazy those Tea Party people are ! What say you Mr. Delahunt or Mr. Forrest? Watch those votes and back room deals people are keeping tabs!

Interesting. Does that mean using evacuation route protocol and turning all routes into one way traffic for mass exodus from the Cape ? Or just keeping it 2 way until you get to the base section of two lane roads (one short section) to the rotary's and back up the traffic on the base and 28A ? That makes sense. AAA wreckers will at least make money!

With what we have been witnessing in Washington as of late, perhaps a level headed successful business man is just what the doctor ordered. Christy is well aware of competition ! He has made a success story already about the ups and downs of it. Cahill has obviously stepped out of the good graces (If there are any) of the present administration. That only leads to the supporting crowd around you slowly dwindling to the point where you are standing alone, and as the crowd went so does the perception of the power you may have had. Not a good place to be whether it is politics or employment, been there , done that!

Richard
All questions that are of concern or interest are fair not only in politics but to people that choose a public forum to voice and spread their views and opinions as well. (Even when some of those issues are off the wall) Evasive answers are SOP for politicians as well as people that want t be heard but really do not know what they are talking about. They may not be trying to evade the question, they simply don't have the intelligence or knowledge to answer it, which was probably the case. Additionally, I do not agree with your Palin analogy, but like others, just my opinion. I'll keep reading, at least the exchange with you is stimulating.

Wouldn't you love to be given $4900.00 per month to live on? I would! Family of 4, average rent with utilities $1200.00 per month. That leaves $3700.00 for food and expenses! I could handle that , could you? The real question is how much for administrative costs for HAC? Thats always been the question that no one wants to answer. Keep it up you liberal feel gooders!

Atsalis would understand if it was going to tax a cash cow parking business
that there have never been any business income reports on! I'd pay the yearly $50.00 fine to maintain a several hundred thousand dollar cash business that is not reported because it can not be classified as a business! Unimproved land used as parking lots, thats the ticket!

Just what we need! The liberal, left wing liar, bailing out the newspaper. Has a familiar ring, government controlled news! Please give me back my USA. I remember how proud my father use to be on veterans day, dispite his injuries from WWII and the nightmares I rememebr so well as a child from him reliving his past, he was proud to be an American and made sure all his children understood what being an American was all about. I miss him terribly, but I am thankful he is not here to see the path this country is taking, it's not what he fought for or taught his family about.

I always love it when I read words such as "Inappropriate developement such as Cape Wind" tied to a Pol like Atsalis. The Atsalis's are licensed for 76 parking spaces at 242 Ocean St and 103 parking spaces at 165 Ocean Street in Hyannis. They are taxed on unimproved property because they keep it as grass lots (some tar) but no improvements where the town could improve the revenue base as taxing it as a business, the state will not allow them to. They get away with paying a $50.00 fine as allowed by law for not giving the town information about income the property produces. That would have to be changed throught the legislature. Imaging who that would go through. You do the math, how much does it cost to park and take the boat to the island in the summertime? If you care check the property values against the potentital income estimates (cash income I might add). When I think of this family beating the system and screwing the Town of Barnstable, you have to wonder. Rob O'Leary, come on study at MMA thats where you belong! Oh, but you do! Teach and Legislate, still going on?

Blackjackbarnes,
It took me a few minutes to recover from your last. True , true how true. You have to understand thats what present politics is all about. Say a lot that means nothing. Barnstable County Bills silence is deafening! What say you Bill? Your profound words of wisdom just don't seem to cut it! How did that old saying go? Everyone here is crazy except you and I, but I'm not to sure about you. Maybe the way of Mary may be the best route. Everyone will honor you without a mention of any controversial issues. The good old boy network is slowly being exposed. Now if we can just extend the exposure to Boston. Wait, thats right they were all part of this as well. Oh my, where do we turn from here?

Itmay be time for the county to be rolled up in one big ball and disposed of. The value of Cape homes has gone done. People, if they are lucky enough to sell are taking a hit already, so what not, lets kick the dog thats already down. Give me a break County Commissioners, there are some out there that I'm sure would be happy to show you some of your pork as well. I'm sure some interest could be drummed up to do that. Have you paid attention to the Tea Partys going on across the country. Enough is enough. Sheriff's Department are going to the state, maybe it is time. Taxation w/o representation, where did that originate? We all know how it ended......
03/08/09 @ 10:35 am
Freeman - How appropriate....Welcome to the Socialist Republic of Dennis. Are you Kidding? How about that free enterprise, lets open a business in a dying economy with the stipulation that if you succeed you may be punished and the governing agency has the right to make that determination. Sounds somewhat familiar, but not in this country!

In the middle of the worst financial and political maneuvering in the Commonwealths history Cape Cod Times closes the bureau that has potentially the most impact on news about the states economy!

Lets see, cut services, advertising failing, more layoffs, no TV guide and other inserts maybe time to ask the new savior for a few billion! Lets face it, sadly, the next step is to close the doors. The only print to survive will be the Enterprise, and by the way, the new Barnstable one is great!

Listen, they were in violation for how long? Talk about a sensitive area to be contaminating,It's about time. Thanks to the Board of Health for forcing the issue with people that obviously thought they were exempt from local regulations and laws. The same question still exists, Due they have a business license or are they still operating at what Wellfleet calls at risk. At whos risk? The Bookstores, The Towns , The people that eat or drink there I just don't get it. Lets ask the question that noone else has asked. Would any other restaurant in town be allowed this amount of slack? Check into that Cape Cod Today. There are eating establishments a lot closer to the water than the Bookstore, maybe an examination of septic conditions there would be of interest, perhaps even newsworthy. We are all greatful for the towns attention to this matter. Now lets take a look around, lets not wait for a problem to erupt lets nip them in the bud before they hurt us the residents. I would rather see us all fight to correct a problem rather than fight to cure or treat an illness.
03/01/09 @ 7:46 am
As kids we use to joke about this old idea. Niedzwiecki feels this is a new idea! CCC should be done away with at a tremendous savings to the taxpayers. Just what we need is another reason to stop tourists from coming to Cape Cod. Oh thats right, it would create another cushy job for a connected person. Lets see, $1.00 toll, printed ticket, mailing, equipment, personnel expenses, what a return! Even if there was money in it, do you really thing the Gov would give funds from a state highway to the County? Lets get real and start cutting your own fat.

I want some answers as to where those funds are going. Try to get an abatement your town will tell you its the state (RMV) that sets the price. Bull, what's next? It's not a question anymore of wht is taxed in Massachusetts it's a question of what isn't taxed? Try triming the state budget and no show jobs first! Pension reform might be a place to look, oh no not that sacred cow! Is there anyone, that has been elected to represent we the people with the testosterone to examine the wates within the state budget before the burden is placed back on us? I think not! Remember the kids that are left out of the equation, the ones we hope will host our future. Your comments are cruel and motivated by the political process that we all hope will be a part of the past. It stinks! People in the know understand and will vote for a dedicated person that care for the people and gives less consideration to the corrupt system that has been in place for to long. clamshelli you should be careful what you bring up about the abutters and scrapped plans. MP attempted to push through concervation a permit for a dock for that property knowing full well that wellfleet harbor was an area of critical concern. Meaning from as near as one can figure, the state said no more docks in Wellfleet harbor but he tried to get one approved by conservation to market the property as a potential marina or marine service location with a dock knowing full well the restrictions. I think you were given good advise earlier by someone. You not doing your friends any favors. If you care you should be careful about giving anyone more ideas that may appear in print.

Do some research, don't throw out some comment that you expect a comment returned on that doesn't deserve one. Theory's require thought, information and facts. Just because you do not agree, rebut them with facts, historical data, or quotes. It's so easy to sit back and slander (I know all about that position) but check out some facts yourself! Read a little, research a little, thouhts are like gas, you force a little, pass gas and its gone. The only one that feels good is you! Hopefully it wasn't a wet one! Great Article! Well written & tremendously thought provoking.

A Little Disturbing.....too!

Lets see Peter,
Did Costa do anything wrong? I don't Know ask him! Sometimes what you do not do (or participate in) speaks volumes!DNA....DNA....DNA....(That means does not apply)

If there was a shot within 500' and the shot was by the law, lets see, how do you thinks that would work?

Was Manso given a break? Probably not, two wrongs don't make a right!

Planted guns! I think not. Did someone use power and position to re-enter armed with a search warrant with memory of a prior incident stored in a part of thier feeble little mind! I think so..

#5 I'll reserve comment on, somehow with all that is coming out there is probably more to come!

Is Manso an idiot? I don't know , maybe! (Depending on your definition of an idiot) But I'm sure glad I took Gramps' gun off the wall, cause in someones eyes it could look like an AK-47 !!!!

PS. I was just wondering ? Was the DA's permit expired? Does he even have one? I guess that really doesn't matter, does it?

Can't quite figure you! But it really doesn't matter, at least to me. Anyway, I don't there is anyone that doesn't believe they has sex. And I profess no particular knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the relationship between McCowen, the vivtimm or anyone else Christa knew. But remove your personal feelings for a minute, just a minute capemom, this won't take a tremndous amount of energy and its not an extremely complicated thought process. Now take a deep breath now that your in a tranquil frame of mind and ask yourself this, "Who did the unidentified DNA belong to ?" Doens't this have to be identified or eliminated? What if the other DNA belonged to a big white man that may have testified? Or a big white man that didn't.

Last Comment regarding this posting. Think about the facts, don't confuse the issue with comments relating to anyone's gene pool. Thats typical name calling from a liberal to confuse the facts. Give some of that college education an exercise and try to see the forrest thru the trees. My god, you
cant see this is a SET UP! Dont talk to me about the professional actions of the police? How many of them took place in MO's blooding of DNA?( Or I guess who and how many did not participate)
Naivete, on your part! Oh, did I get off tract! What was I talking about? I'm confused how could Worthington and Manso's situation possibly be related? How many Costa's are there? Antone, oh no he is not a suspect, I'm not sure how many Costa's there are in Truro!
01/09/08 @ 9:40 am
Just as a quick follow-up....Manso is out of town, a book is about to come out, a hearing is set for tomorrow, you know it will contain something about the police, not to mention our reknowned District Attorney, and charges may be pending? If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck....Be careful people of Barnstable County. God, I'm going to make sure my great grandfathers musket is taken down off the wall! Speaking of guns, Manso should have lived in O'Keefe's neighborhood,at least there no-one would have known about it. Oh, my! Do you think next that these may identified as coming from Sandwich! Just kidding, but based on past practices the thought would take up space in the back of my mind! Now I have to paint the wall, great grampas musket left stains in the outline of the gun...That too could be probable cause I think! (depending on where you live) All for now, have to get the paint brush out and cover the evidence! Go to second district court and check this warrant & the return! You pi-- the wrong person off, this could happen to you too! Think anyone knew Manso was away?
01/09/08 @ 9:27 am
Well Tim, I don't know who to be more afraid of, you or the Truro Police! I'll reserve the right to return to the topic of "Using your official office for personal or financial gain" at a later time. Anyway, I do not know you or Mr. Manso, but lets think about this. Your away, an alarm goes off, police respond & see weapons! Did I hear "Search Warrant". Wow, I'd love to see the affidavit in support of that one! Being licensed to carry is one thing, having firearms in your home is another. The last I knew The constitution still gave us protection for unreasonable searches & seizures. As well as the right to bear arms. Mr. Manso was not carrying them if out of state. I really have problems with the police finding any type of probable cause in this matter. Probable cause for what crime? Thousands of people have firarms in homes across the Cape. You have the right to have them in your home, licensed or not. There is intent here on someones part, it smells! Alarms are easily set off, intentionally or not. Was there any signs of forced entry? Smells like a fishing trip to me, What say you?

As any parent knows, images stimulate actions and responses in children. As difficult as it would be, (and would have to supervised by a professional-not SP investigator). Photographs shown to this innocent child would get a measurable response if she saw the one that mom gave that message to. Cruel? Yes, therapy would have to be part of the process for a long time. Photos are available of everyone mentioned in all blog writings, something I would not want to be a part of, but all available to anyone looking for them. God Bless you Ava.

Children, infants are a product of thier enviornment. Understand, Ava was simply repeating what her mother had stated to the perpetrator...familiar to Ava, possibly but unknown. A child in her position has thoughts, but more questions than original thoughts. Like the animal that mimicks, young humans are no differant. It is part of the learning process, regretfully, it will be part of the moulding process for this young child. The answers to the killing not only exist in the childs mind, but in other minds as well. The only thing that seperates the two is, all though they may have the thoughts and actions that are similar to a child, they are adults. If as much effort went into MO's DNA blooding as could have gone into "Get out of MY house, YOU don't scare me", there would be no more questions!

Interesting article Mr. Coleman, more likely, Ava was repeating something that was was implanted in her mind during a memorable or in this case traumatic experience. Your perception of the benefits of regressive hypnosis are commendable, however, not with risks for the subject being regressed. Hypnotic regression techniques have been long practiced, mostly in the private and government sectors that are looking for results without having any consciene of the risks. Massachusetts would never accecpt or be able to introduce any results obtained from this technique. (To the best of my knowledge) It is also my understanding there are many law enforcement agencies that that do use the technique as an investigative tool, similar to the polygraph, which may or may not be appropriate in this or similar cases. I applaud you for your interest in writing about the technique, and it should not be dismissed with a shrug. I rather doubt anyone in the present law enforcement hierarchy would have the internal testosterone to pursue this idea and often valuable process.

Couple of questions.....Does MO have a license to carry? Where did this gun come from? Was it purchased? If so there would be a record. Was it in evidence from a case and just happened to find its way MO's residence? Was it for protection from a home invasion? (We all know his standing on self defense) Is there a report so that police or gun dealers can be looking for it? Are there serial numbers or not? If not what would MO be doing with a weapon without numbers?

Stay Tuned or not!

No surprise here! Guess who's going to be practicing medicine again? You called it Mr. Blanchard, keep those stories coming. Someone has to look into MO, this is to much. I think everyone has the right to know, after all, you eleceted this guy! What a wonderful system. One step forward and thanks to MO 5 steps back. Yuck! Keep those campaign contributions coming, this dinner is going to be an expensive one!

Whats up with the gag order? Doesn't it seem strange that the investigating authority would issue a "gag order" to the family of the suspect? I know the bass are in deep water right now, something still smells fishy! Extenuating circumstances or not, I wonder how many "pairs" of hands were tested for gunshot residue. Are there any considerations being given to false confessions? (Of course that never happens) Just a thought......How many sons would react with anger to seeing dear mother with evidence of a beating by dear old dad? Conversely, how many mothers would go to the ends of the earth to protect the well being of a son? Two shots...two people...and a grand jury investigation.
Just a thought.

Putting words in someones mouth really has a negative influence on ones credibility... I guess thats not a new issue for some is it.....You know what I mean don't you! The spin stops here? I guess not!

No, haven't gone anywhere, family day. Oh, that may not be important though! Anyway, it doesn't take much to imagine that Joe wouldn't know her if he bumped into her....He should be careful repeating what he is told in confidence, especially when he repeats it and is overheard! As far as local vs. DA authority over death investigations, I would suggest you carefully examine Chapter 38 Sec 4 of the MGL. By the way, the DA's designee in this section is the MSP.
Good Day !

Other issues to check on.....

Peter, very insightful questions. I really appreciate the caliber of your questions, very intelligent and enjoyable. Maybe this will help with your questions: #1 -I'll give you only one source here, Check with Joe at the Barley Neck Inn. #2 - Local Police Departments are not allowed to conduct homicide investigations, they come under the jurisdicition of the District Attorney's Office. #3 -Call CPAC of the MSP and ask them. #4 - That is a great question! Do you work there? #5 - Yes.

Question of the day: What does the District Attorney and the Cape Cod Times have in common?
Answer: It appears they may both be for sale!

"The shadow knows" ! MS is a very well groomed when it comes to legal, and political matters. Perception often times becomes reality, whether its from a legal or political point of view. "Politically Challenged", I guess. MS just confirmed, in and carefully worded political way, if the Feds were considering MO for US Attorney, they no longer are....Does this mean its getting closer to sticking the fork in MO ? It certainly is reflective of, Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of thier parties ! Although, thoughts of the Humpty Dumpty rhyme make equally as much sense....

Wonderful!
Peter, a smart person(or DA) never asks a question he or she doesn't already know the answer to, don't forget that. Sometimes a question is asked to solicit responces from people such as you....throw it out there and see what happens. I love how you lumped Hester et al and "Cape Politics or its Law Enforcement" in the same thought. Now you know why the question was asked. Your loyalty is obvious and there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is exactly what you stated. As far as a "jaundiced eye" on campaign funds, your exactly right. When the Office of Campaign Finance states Dinners and related epenses are a gray area they are right. Its the pols that abuse that slush fund from contributions that causes gas for the honest ones. 10X what others spend. Look past the end of your nose.... History repeats itself, why do these people give and continue to give? Research some public documents(court and others) and see who some of the contacts, friends, dinner buddies of some of the players are. It will open your eyes & your mind! Loyality is earned not paid for.

Ok, Thanks for your comments. Hester is SP and Buscone is a partner and now I understand the warning I got. Buscone is Northside marina ( In Dennis) and Hester is apparently a ranking officer in MSP, hence my previous warnings. (I was told both untouchable and to drop it) Historically when I'm told to drop it, it gets me going!!!! Anything you come up with is appreciated. Phone records would show some interesting calls to both parties. And thanks to some really strange internet providers you can get hose too!!! I may be in to deep. I'll check in tomorrow. I can tell you one thing! O'Keefe knows them all! The other thing I can tell you is this: If it were not for Jeff Blanchard ..........well we won't go there now. Thank you Jeff for being a great American......it may be bigger than all of us. It appears to have been going on for a long time and leads to the top of the pile!

Hey Crusader

Can you tell me anything about this guy Joe Buscone? He throws around money to the Cape Polls like nobodys business. No one wants to talk about him. This is getting addiciting. And who is Tom Hester. Would appreciate any info.

Keep up those contributions to O'keefe. He will need it! The more you look the more fascinating it gets! The next site you really have to go to is Corporate Filings. But really, check them all. Its a great education and may make some people not only eat words, but crawl into thier little holes and wait for the fall-out. Happy surfing! Speaking of surfing I wonder if the DA tried his luck out with that when he was in Hawaii spending your campaign contributions. Just found out how to locate flight records. Might be a little costly, but the suspense is killing me. I wonder who may have made the trip to the Hula party with him? This is getting good, but as I am told also very dangerous. But you know, when your old, and are more concerned about making typo's and spelling errors between trips to the bathroom and looking for your glasses, its all good stuff! Jeff Blanchard keep up the good work. Was Jeff at the scene? What a stupid question? Careful Blanchard, sounds like a set up to me! Maybe time to check those connections, but leave that to me. Good Day!

Well after talking to a few locals, all I could get was "Follow the Money". I started with the Registry of Deeds in Barnstable. What an education! Take a look at what the stars of the story have been up to! Thats going to take some new research to be followed up on. The best and most fun was the OCPF Electronic Filing & Campaign Disclosure System. This will educate you not only on who some of he players are, but give detailed reports on contributions and expenditures, of every candidate. The totals are in from OCPF! Hang on, think about this the next time you go to Shaws. In a little over 2 years Our modest living DA O'Keefe spent over $15090.00 for lunch and dinners with supporters. (Don't Forget he ran unapposed) Ranging from Boston, to DC to Ca.,to Fl. and dropped $1000.00 in Hawaii, all listed as lunch or dinners with supporters. But was is as equally troubling is $11,259.50 dropped at the Ridge Club in Sandwich. (Accross the street from his abode) $800.00 for Shirts and balls(I guess balls)Grand Total $26,349. of your money.

When is the next press conference starring Humpty Dumpty O'Keefe? The edge of the wall must be getting shakey! All the kings horses and men are rallying round....I can only wonder what spin is going to be put on this one! Keep those campaign contributions coming for the unapposed DA! He may need it for more than dinners and golf with supporters. One can only hope. So what is King O'Keefes history with Dr. Ann ? More to follow........for sure.

I agree crusader, hats off to Mr. Blanchard for his courage. Maybe now its time for the DA's invetigators to take a long hard look at the boss, or maybe its time for Mr. O'keefe to consider his future. How does that work? A grand jury investigation run by a party to the investigation? Huh! Martha "C" where you be?
