Sometimes there is just no time to react. But yes, on that stretch of road, people pull out, etc. all the time and so you have to be a very defensive driver every moment. As a single mom with a fifteen year old daughter, this accident just tears me up inside. My prayers go to Edith Sweet's daughters.

Single moms can't afford bigger vehicles even if they work around the clock. This woman's death is a travesty. The guy should lose his license for life. And go to prison. Maybe then people would pay attention to their driving. An old guy pulled out in front of me a couple of years ago on this stretch of road and the insurance company said my car wasn't totalled, but it was nothing but a piece of junk after a month's repairs. I bet that old guy got a very small ticket and that was it. Shame on me for being a single mom in an Escort at the time. No one should be criticizing the kind of car this poor woman was driving. Maybe if the careless driver hadn't been driving a monster of a car, she wouldn't have been killed.
