Dan is your typical liberal, the people who have lived in these cottages have been here for years but Dan does not like their type and wants them out, just like businesses. Did you notice that all the attorney's who deal with the Probate Court on a regular basis have signs for the other canidate for this position. Think it has something to do with knowing who would be better for the job. Ms. Young is not qualified for this position and would cause grave damage to the Probate Court functions in Barnstable County. She will be vindictive and not a person who should hold an elective position.

ASSAULT AND BATTERY DANGEROUS WEAPON IS A FELONY, Although it has not been released yet the reason why this guy got shot was because he hit the cop with his vehicle, not just the cruiser!Additionally, the girlfriend has told the state police that he was trying to kill the cop so lets cut the BS on this blog. Try to run over a cop and you get shot its pretty simple. Learn the law and the facts before you make comments about things you know nothing about!

Lets see, the bad guy uses his car to attempt to avoid arrest, then strikes the police cruiser with his car, follow me now, that is Assault and Battery Dangerous Weapon to wit an automobile. Last time I checked that was a 5 year felony!

Why don't we all wait until the DA completes the investigation before assuming what happened. As far as shooting at a car with a passenger in it, did you ever stop to think that the officer exited his vehicle at which point the driver proceeded to refuse to exit his car and drive toward the officer. That is justified use of force, or perhaps the driver exited the vehicle with a weapon drawn. We don't know what the circumstances are, what led to the shooting, who the dead guys is, or where his body was located for that matter, so why don't all of you who are trashing this officer go back to watching CSI and Law and Order so you can continue your education in what goes on with the police, DA and the Court systems. Its pretty clear that most of you don't have a clue. If it was an unjustified shooting I am certain the DA's office and Yarmouth Police will take the necessary action. We will learn more as time goes by so we should wait until then to comment more.

I must say as a member of the bar who practices before Judge Nickerson it shocked me that he did not grant the motion. I can only presume that he wants guidence from the SJC on this case before it is retried. Either way this decision was going to be appealled so it has no effect on the timing of a new trial. Given the testimony at the trial I have doubt whether McGowen actually killed her, but I have very little doubt that he was there. If he was there he is just as guilty but it should have been tried that way. Plus someone on Cape Cod is walking around thinking they got away with murder!

I love the place, really nice guy Quan, who owns it. I have been going there since it opened in the early 2000's. I would say its the best Chinese in the mid cape area outside of Dragon Lite, and as good as you get in Chinatown.
Check it out if you are craving chinese food. It's so good you can eat it sober!

Okay lets be clear about a couple things, first McCowen admitted to being present at the homicide, that does not make him guilty of 1st degree murder but does make him guilty of 2nd or manslaughter, do I think he killed her, no, and trust me I was present in court for a lot of the trial, should he get a new trial, yes, but this is not a frame up job or anything like that. It is sloppy work by the MSP and DA's office but it does not reflect on the way they do business normally, trust me, personally I am not a fan of mike, but practicing law thoughout the Commonwealth this is one of the better DA's Offices.

This is just what we need, someone trying to make a political statement. The town has made reasonable accomodations for her but is that good enough. Of course not. Lets not forget she is not a member [ed note: she is a resident member as a trustee of a real estate trust], her father is. She is just trying to make a quick buck and put her hatered of men out front too! How come she can play in my tournement, but if I wanted to join any women's gym I would be forbidden. How come women can have private clubs but men cannot? How come Women can have private colleges but men cannot? It is a double standard and always will be! I don't want to be somewhere that people don't want me, but these crazy left wing women don't care about that they just want to make a statement.
