In response to: "Part-way Charlie" Girard: Failure may be his thing
The last time Victor Mooney tried to row across the Atlantic, it was all over in five hours.
This time, he is determined to make it all the way.Mooney, of Forest Hills, Queens, hopes to make his second attempt at an 8,000-mile solo trek from West Africa to Brooklyn next month.
Mooney says he’s much better prepared than his wayward attempt in 2006, when the boat he built started filling with water and sank. He was rescued by the Senegalese Navy.
His vessel is way beyond the ordinary rowboat — and unlike the one now at the bottom of the ocean, was designed by naval architects and built by professionals.
In response to: "Part-way Charlie" Girard: Failure may be his thing

You really should agree that the townsfolk put up with "crap" for a long time, and then the "meter" caught you. What really were the dates that 1500 gallons of water were used??
Can you let PaBell know that I am the Doggie and you are the Shelli??

"It's all coming out in the end". Not a good choice of words for this arena. Tell us which days those are. January 12, or February 9, or just when?? As an admitted fan of Mrs P, but just because "she is kind", how is it that you are privy to this information and do you have a meter on your well??
Just wondering.

Only joking on the drinking. I've been working on a fat one for about an hour!!It's much better than booze, especially when I have to get the school bus back to P-town before dark. They will not be happy with the "Dog" if I have booze on my breath.
Do you drink, or is it another condition??
Have a grate day!!

You are absolutely right!! People with half brains rant and give their opinions. It just that you seem to think that your's are right on the money.

Thank God you surfaced. I went to Luke's thinking maybe you had gotten caught in the water meter. I know that on July 29th, you were sure that the folks at the "place" were complying. Now here we are two short weeks later and everybody is shocked to learn that you guys were not in fact playing by,rather playing with, the rules. Who ever would have thunk that a shi- stirer would cause all this commotion.I'll bet a bottle of Merlot that you are right. NOT!!!!

I'm beginning to think that Clamshelli is really Renee Richards in disguise. Remember her/him?? He was the New york dentist,Richard Raskin, who decided to have the "stuff" changed and voila, we have a tennis pro in the women's division. This certainly not to say that the old Clammer has had a sex change, but boy can he/she bounce the ball around on all sides of the court.
I guess you are right about not learning much during this little episode. As a guy that for the most part plays by the rules, it is really galling to me to have them just shove it up the poopers of the townsfolk and the rest of us in the neighboring environs.
I'm wondering how Moe Barrabas sp. can be "enthused with the progress".Has he been waiting since 1987?? Maybe they don't use calanders in Wellfleet. A lot of deposit slips, tho.
Thanks for listening

Slept late this AM. The muscatel did me in!! Did you ever figure out what we chatted about concerning Luke's?? I was there last night and used their "facilities" How do they keep them so clean??
Anyhow, after a bunch of soul searching and perusing old notes, I have one question for the ol'Schall.I think I remember your rant about the good life in Wellfleet and scungilli, and helping each other, etc. and it is a slice of heaven being there. Now, here's the question: How do you as a resident of that fine town feel about a businessman?? or woman?? polluting your harbor and aquifer for nearly 20 years??? How do you as a resident of Wellfleet feel about a man?? or a woman?? overseating more than 150 people without any concern for fire regulations for almost 20 years?? Doesn't it piss you off just a bit to think you are having the wool pulled over your eyes, also?? Or maybe not. Just wondering. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I ain't got no problem, except as one who has followed this "mess" for a few years, there is NO ONE and I mean NO ONE who cares if you or your mother or your wait staff or the Health Dept. or the people of Wellfleet give a shit about what is going into their water. I came to live here five years ago, and ate at the Bookstore, and was told it was a shi house. That it is.Now, listening to East Cape Engineering, we have a plan in place but wait until the snow flys, and the water is good and the whatever is wherever and the this and the that is in place, and we will once again have a true dining experience in store for our visitors. Why don't you just SHUT UP and wash your hands before returning to work. This is the worst that Wellfleet has asked their town folk to accept. The Billboard house?? I would work for that in a minute if it were an either "this or that"
My 1100 characters are coming to a close. I hope someday we can meet and maybe drive to the reconstruction and then on to Luke's where the toilets work, and you and I can have a nice glass of water

Now do you know what a drop dead date is??? It is incredible for me as an acknowledged half wit, to believe you and your cohorts can stretch this outrage much further. You, in your ability to talk about kindnesses, etc, etc, forget that hundreds if not thousands of people have been exposed to a system that is full of feces,as well as drinking water that is of non drinking quality. What's the story with the 150 extra seats?? You laughingly advised Cod and I to open the "Monkey". I'll tell you this MR/MRS, we would close you up like a dirty book. You and all those that support this travesty, should be ashamed. In the famous words of Clamshelli,"enjoy". You folks down there deserve it!!

I don't need to be compensated for my time. Looking at several pictures in this story, I don't see too much reconstruction going on.Five guys standing around ain't my idea of reconstruction. What the hell does a citizen police academy have to do with my knowing about the"rights of those involved". If an accident on the main artery of a town in the middle of tourist season happens at 2:45, I would think that all the"reconstruction" in the world would take less than 3 hours.

T o know now what she was speaking of and that was in the late 90's, I guess you might have to agree, without having any ulterior motive, that the place should be closed down. When the "lynch mob" persisted in pushing the elders via this medium, you got pissed off, with some justification, as me thinks the ol' Shellbomb may be losing some money, too. Just got back from Luke's What a place for a guy like me.Iam not, I repeat, I am not Codpiece, related to Codpiece, ever seen Codpiece, ever danced, drank, fished, roller skated with the"piece" I may want to change my mind on some of these activities, however.
It really is too bad that you come off as such a pissed off Bloger, as I imagine you are an alright person
With that in mind,I'll say Sayonara to you and all those folks in Wellfleet that think the Roo Bar would be a liability for the town. I think a fertilizer factory would go just great there. There is an endless supply of product to process, both verbal and otherwise.

OKOKOKOKOKOKAY!
The place still is a sh--house, and should be closed. Time for me to go to Luke's and get some vino to go with my shellfish.
Smoke if you got 'em.

PS How about the French!!!

After watching you spout about for weeks, you need to agree on one thing: Nowhere have I said anything about by-laws,ownership issues, previous ownership issues with Capt.Higgins. I have merely asked ad nausem why the Bookstore is allowed to remain open when they are in violation of the laws of your fair town, and have been for almost twenty years. To allow a restaurant with 250 seats dump effluent into the existing water table and nearby oyster beds is criminal. I have absolutely no interest in anything other than wanting to be assured the drinking water and septic system of the Bookstore is up to snuff. That's not lame,n'est pas??

I t would seem to me that family squabbles between the owner and the treasurer could be settled with a short meeting outside the Loo and a cold glass of water on a table in the deck on the second floor. Just make sure there aren't more than 95 people there.

I am indeed the Blog Police and I am the Chief!! Are you really having dinner with Bill and Hillary, or just going for one of his famous cigars?? I'll bet I know the answer. Bon Apetit!!

Moved from the Bookstore, did you?? We thought you were going away for a few days. Now you show up here.GIVE IT A REST!!!

Methinks you protest too much!! Most everyone who has posted stated the fact that the Bookstore dun did wrong for 19 years!! Anyone who can condone that needs to look at what is going on in that area. I don't know Jacksh-- about the Pearl, and I guess up until now, there is no need. Your friends have done something terribly wrong to the residents of your fair town, and no extensions and surveys etc. should be allowed. It seems to me that the various town departments that have allowed this mess to go on,should be called to task, and you and "your friends" who are being persecuted by your own words, should be quiet, clean up the mess, and thank God they aren't in jail.
I could go on, but I need to be in Poland Springs tonight to start the reverse osmosis process.
Thanks.
PS. the eggs are rotten. We boiled them too long in the water.

As a loyal friend, which I admire, my wife wants to know this: when the septic and water issue is finally resolved, hopefully within the next nineteen years, will they have some time to vacuum the rugs??? The place really is a sh--house!!! Thats her thought. I think the place is spotless!!
Thanks,
The Dog

Are you having a bad day?? Man,you sound angry!!Your expertise with Caca water has got to be the best.Calm down, enjoy the ride, and remember the Patriots were almost perfect too. If you had some humility you would be perfect.

It appears you have too many Saltines in your sleeping bag!! You sure are firing poison arrows at all those that want to know what the hell does a permitting issue have to do with the Bookstore dumping into the watershed and ultimately into the neighbors water supply?? Take a stroll over to Mayo Beach and have a cold glass of reverse osmosic produced water.Let us all know how it tastes.

"A childish lynching", "the process of a small town and its bylaws"??? Think about what you are saying. The Bookstore has thumbed their noses at the townfolk for almost twenty years. They have sent effluent into the very waters that produce the oysters that all you folks love. They have overseated by almost 250% the number of diners allowed. If there is going to be a "childish lynching" it seems to me that the good fathers of Wellfleet should be the target. Can someone also explain how the owner?? was not aware of the seriosness of the problem??
Thanks

Having eaten several times at the Bookstore since relocating to the Cape, I can say we always had a good meal. I'm just awfully sorry I drank their reverse osmosis generated water. Now if I can stop eating the yellow snow!!
